Chicken Osaka amazing. Loved the Dynamite Shrimp. Great presentation and fair prices for the quality. Service was great.

We have eaten here many times and it was good enough to go back, but this time, not so much. The wait staff were, well, odd. Chatty and odd. The food was not horrible, but not great. One piece of meat I had was not cooked through. Not good. Not sure I will go back now. It only takes one not so great experience to make me look for something different.

I love this place every time I’m in Spokane I eat here. I love their lunch menu. I recommend the honey chicken, Asian salad which comes with the lunch is awesome. The five stars for the food not the waitstaff I had last time. It was a young man who forgot first what we ordered and had to come back after 20 minutes and then I had asked another server for water because I couldn’t find him. This was a first because the waitstaff is always wonderful

Went there by myself for lunch one day after shopping. While there, I ordered some variety of pork yakisoba and asked to make it extra spicy(love spicy food!) Throughout the course of the entire meal I was never checked on. My water did not get refilled and my mouth was on fire!!! Upon receiving my bill, the waitress asked if I needed anything else?!(H2O) I said no and for the first time in my life did not leave a tip. The food was really good, but the service was poor. It’s funny how people become more responsive when you put a hundred dollar bill on the table… Wow

Awsome service and even better food. We ordered coconut shrimp and there green beans. They where both delicious. Prawns seem to be in fryer just little to long but where still very good. The Almond chicken, aloha chicken and the ginger chicken where all awsome. Portion size was great as chicken all came on seperate plates with a seperate bowl of rice. We loved it and will be back next time we are in town.

Great service, OK food. I ordered the tofu in osaka sauce, and i have to say i really didn’t care for the sauce. It was incredibly rich and made me feel a little nauseous. I did like the brown rice with the asian coleslaw, though. Drinks are pretty pricey, even for happy hour. The staff however is very nice and i’m sure i could find something I like better on the menu next time, they have a lot of vegan options and that’s a big plus for me. The waitress even asked me if I was vegan and advised against getting the seasoned rice, since it contains chicken broth. Very considerate! Will probably visit again.

I absolutely love this restaurant for its food. Good ambiance but nothing spectacular but I think their food is fresh and just a little different. I always have the Maui Chicken and I love it.

Excellent Food and 5 star service. I do believe that the Northtown location is better than the valley but that’s totally based on service. You can’t go wrong with Maui or Osaka chicken and their Green Beans appetizer is wonderful

For a restaurant that is considered to be the Olive Garden equivalent to asian fusian, it far surpasses expectations. For chain restaurants, this restaurant understands it probably wont live up to the PF Changs of the world, and its ok with that. Its comfortable in its own Osaka Mustard skin. I have been coming here on a regular basis since 2008. Perhaps i am more forgiving due to nostalgic ties. Or perhaps because the waitstaff is awesome(Amanda for one), and the food is always quick yet good(for lack of a better word). In any case, i hope this restaurant will be around for years to come. As an added bonus, any dish on the menu can be made vegetarian, substituting meat for tofu. For a world that is rapidly turning to more compassionate dishes, this restaurant has been on the eco bandwagon for 10 plus years now. Another reason to remain loyal.

Great food. Great happy hour. Love the service here too. My server Jocelyn(?she had a flower in her hair) was extremely attentive and super friendly. Between her and the chicken Osaka we will definitely be back.

It was decent food but the service wasn’t that great, well our server wasn’t. We got there and were told it would be a bit of a wait for a booth so we opted for a table. We got seated and several booths were open and then several were just not cleaned yet, not sure what that was about. We ordered our food and I felt like it was overpriced for the portions. Our waiter took our order then disappeared until after we got our food which was brought out by someone else. Didn’t have anyone check on us since that and then we finished our food with empty drinks and waited for 20 minutes before finally getting up to ask for our check. The other waitresses were good and running around like crazy but ours, ehh saw him maybe 3 times. I also am I waited so I understand at times but when it isn’t very busy it gets ridiculous having to wait that long.

Only good thing to say about our lunch yesterday at the Mustard Seed at Northtown is that the Mac ‘n Jacks was nice and cold. Oh, one more thing… our waiter was very friendly. The food was not good. My boyfriend had a Thai-inspired noodle dish that was lackluster and not at all memorable. I had the California Chinese Chicken Salad. The chicken was pre-cooked, chopped, refrigerated chicken breast. Gross. The greens were not top quality, and there was way too much dressing drenching them. The walls of the booth we were sitting in were gross. Food stuck to them and grimy, little kid hand prints on everything. We won’t be going back. Just didn’t feel good about spending $ 40 on such a lame meal in such a grubby and depressing environment.

We go here often and love it. A shout out to the cooks, Crissy and Anna. Awesome food and super friendly service. I’m not sure there’s much on the menu we haven’t tried. We’ve liked everything. Our daughter is Gluten Free and there’s plenty of great options for her too. Some of our favorites are the Spring Rolls, Lettuce Cups, Chinese Roast Pork, General Mustards Chicken, Chicken Terriyaki and Beef Terriyaki.

This place has been around forever. I remember going to the valley location as a kid. Sadly, that one closed down. But on the bright side, they opened a bunch of Noodle Express locations instead. I can handle that. Some things to note: 1. Their white rice is cooked in chicken broth. So if you are a vegetarian like me, order the brown rice. 2. The hot and spicy tofu and peppers is the best thing on the menu. 3. Anything drenched in their osaka sauce is the second best thing on the menu. 4. They have the best thousand island dressing ever. I could drink that stuff. The Mustard Seed is always a great standby restaurant for when we can’t think of anywhere else to go. And unlike our other standby(aka Taco Time), it’s actually really delicious.

The mustard seed seems to always provide quality food. I had the beef teriyaki which is amazing every time. The ginger dressing that they offer for their salads is to die for! Service was horrible but the food is always great! If your looking for some good food and bottom line customer service than this is the place to go! But hey its in north town mall so the service is expected to be mediocre.

Mary served us for our quest for a new Asian dining spot. She patiently answered menu questions and took our gluten free lunch orders. My companion had GF Chicken Osaka and I ordered a Vegetable bowl with chicken added, paying a under $ 2 for the extra meat. Our orders were brought out with a flourish. We exchanged bites of my veggies for her Osakka chicken. When I proceeded to dig under my veggies for my added chicken, there was none! Mary promptly took my plate back to the kitchen, where they quickly replated it with the correct order. All was fresh and reasonably seasoned. This was Asian fusion, so it was not like eating in a Chinese restaurant in the heart of a Chinese community but not bad. It was a bit pricey, $ 21+ before tip and only ice water to drink. Not so noisy as not very busy.

Decent enough food for what you get. It’s good enough that I’ll eat here often enough but after a meal I’m usually pretty«meh» about the meal. That’s okay cause I keep coming back. If you are looking for something to eat north town it’s either chilies, mustard seed or fast food and I enjoy mustard seeds food more than chilies.

You would/should come here if 1. It was happy hour. 2. You were with a group that INSISTED to go here. 3. You had(as in we’re for one reason or another we’re forced to choose) to eat at the mall, but were sick of Chili’s(yuck! BTW) and the food court. Yuzen sushi, China Dragon and Thai Bamboo are better by far, FORFOOD!(Not right-in-the-mall-convenience)
