I have eaten here before and the nachos are huge and a solid 8⁄10. This last time is where my review is focused. It is authentic enough and service was mostly awesome but we waited on water fill ups twice. This wasn’t okay since 1– the place was empty, on a street corner in the middle of downtown Spokane on a valentines/president’s day weekend(I wonder if all the more typical brunch places were beyond full); 2– We drank a good bit the night before; and 3– well… I just know from being in the service industry for 7 years that water-only drinkers mean you make less money. Therefore you subconsciously, or consciously, give fewer Fks. Food was good, not greasy, not too salty, nice salsa + chips, so 4 stars for that. Guacamole portion was a bit small and had some browning which tasted fine but … c’mon. I specifically asked if they make it fresh every day and our server(older, gracious, and slightly tall for a Mexican) said yes. I believe it, but if the probably-only-cook-at-11:30-on-Sunday knew I was gonna dock a star on Unilocal for this… Well… wouldn’t you ‘waste’ 25 cents and skim the brown part off the guac instead of just turning the spoonful upside down in the ramekin? Also– I asked for lime as a side with my street tacos. I was grateful and said ‘thank you’ but it was MAYBE an 8th of a lime, hardly a wedge, and it was in 2 small pieces. How the hell is a person supposed to get any juice onto a taco? Well, you don’t. Even if you have smaller hands like me, it just ends up all over your fingers, which then smell nice. I don’t get this. Its happened to me before at a restaurant. I’ve even bartended at a rural cowboy bar and we wouldn’t cut our limes like that. Maybe it’s another weather-crisis-related shortage that has caused a price surge. Anyway– I know I sound high maintenance but really, I woke up late, had a morning quickie with the visiting boyfriend, we had partied a bit the night before and I went in search of a simple but specific craving, and was quite thirsty. BTW the place I wanted to go to on W. 2nd was closed. Last thing– the prices are probably 15%+ more than I would expect to pay in this area but I am guessing it is due to location. And it was big and clean.

We arrived at 5:30… we were seated promptly as there was on large table(about 12 people) and no one else in the place. We ordered promptly and got our food almost an hour after we were seated. No one checked on drinks during the entire time we were there, and water was never offered. 4 people, and the experience took about an hour and a half. The lone waiter was working his tail off to try to service the large table and us. After about an hour there were 3 other small tables seated, and I could tell they were frustrated from the lack of service as well. The server was working his tail off, but they were massively under staffed for a Friday night. The food: it was«ok» I’d like to give their mole sauce a 4 out of 5 stars, but the rest of my family didn’t care for the food, and the portions they did get were EXTREMELY small. I’ve never in all my life seen a chimichanga so small. The flavor was«OK» If you dare serve small portions, you better make sure the quality of your food is good. This wasn’t. The Margaritas were good. The mole was good. Otherwise, total thumbs down. We will NOT be back. I was really hoping for GREAT food, but received less than average food, and service.

You know when you walk into a Mexican restaurant and the staff greet you in Spanish that you are going to enjoy your meal. The food was great and the waiter was excellent. Huge portions and very tasty. The first sip of my Pacifico took me right back to Mexico. Highly recommended.

Authentic Mexican food, friendly service, and totally reasonable prices. This is the type of Mexican food that can only be found on the West Coast. The mole and enchiladas are awesome and I LOVE their salsa. The perfect amount of spice. It’s a must stop by whenever I’m in Spokane.

Finally a Mexican food restaurant here in Spokane that is worth going back to visit a second time. Salsa was slightly above par, but the meals are amazing! Being from Arizona, it’s hard to please my Mexican food taste buds, but this place does it. My dish, my wife’s dish, and one of my daughter’s dish are all that I tried, and all three were perfect. I left full, and already trying to plan my return visit before I could get to the car. Even my wife and our 4 picky kids enjoyed the food. If you want real authentic Mexican food, this is it.

Family owned, service like you ARE family and expertly prepared, fantastic Mexican food ~ always always always exactly what I want. Visit them, enjoy and it might become one of your favorites, too.

Nearly empty and eerily quiet during dinner. No music. Might be a good place to study or take a relative who is hard of hearing. It seemed pricey for what we got. Carne asada burrito was too salty and I have a strong affinity for salty.

Was in spokane visiting a friend who had just moved there from LA. We got a craving for REAL mexican food and used Unilocal to see what we can find. MI Casa looked good and had good reviews so we headed down and we’re surprised to find it empty other than 3 guys at one other table. Of course we are a bit older now so we were hoping for a seniors special — we got there at 5pm — yikes!!!(But seriously we hadn’t had lunch yet and we’re starving)!! Our server Ricardo was fantastic. It took him a bit to warm up to him but by the end he was fielding all our questions like a trooper! Stacey had a combo with a taco and maybe an enchilada. To be honest I barely saw what she was eating as i was so focused on my beef fajitas The smell was incredible and I was happy to have the peppers and onions continue ue to grill while I ate — the smell was divine — the taste even better! I usual skip the rice as it’s BORING but this was light and fluffy and tasty and had bits of tomatoes in it The refried beans were good. Guac was a pretty brown but tasty and just enough sour cream. The only thing that would have made this perfect would have been home made salsa! Because I ate so many chips while we were waiting for our meals to arrive I barely touched my main which was fantastic as we brought it home and warmed it up with our eggs the next morning! Seriously if you have fajitas — 2 people can split one order — especially if you have the queso fundido — cheese with chorizo — that we shared as an appetizer. BESTEVER. So yes I recommend this place high and can’t wait to go next time I visit stacey. If the drive wasn’t so long I would be back there next weekend!

Mmm, mmm, mmm! Nothing makes me happier than great Mexican food and beer and this place has both! We started with the Queso Fundido — it was amazing, then I had a Combinaciones with Chicken Enchilada and Taco w/shredded beef. Both were fantastic and so was the rice and beans that came with it. My friend had the steak Fajitas and loved them. Our sever Ricardo was fantastic too!

Finally decided to try this place. Wish we hadn’t of wasted our time. We were seated immediately and brought chips and salsa. Great start. But no water or waiter for almost 10 mins. We almost walked out as they were not busy. Finally we got to order and ordered authentic enchiladas and a cheese pizza for the kiddo. Not sure how you can screw up what looked like a Red Baron microwavable mini pizza but they found a way to. We had to send it back twice because it was not cooked. The salsa was mediocre at best. The chips were below par and the ice tea tasted like it was brewed in a dirty pot. The only plus to the entire experience was that the rice was alright and the staff were fairly friendly. The price was very inexpensive. I guess you get what you pay for. I would not recommend this place nor will we ever go back.

We walk past this place all the time, and we finally decided to stop in and try the food out. It was really, really good and the portions were phenomenal. Price per dish is a little bit high for my taste, but if you’re after a nice meal or you have a smaller appetite and you’re willing to share, this is a great place to eat!

THis place is neither bad nor great. the food is like any other place. they charge for bean dip. hate that. it should be free on request it is almost anywhere else in town. the look is good. nobody was there when we were so the bustling atmosphere was missing but it was late so maybe we missed dinner rush. also it made it nice and peaceful. was friday night though. i got the chile relleno and it was good. kiddo liked his burrito. the price was right.. right next to the bus plaza… which is probably not great for them… but it makes it convenient for me. i would call this a great place to stop and eat before hopping on the bus home. they had us fed and ready to go within 20 minutes. so i call this a stop on the way home place, not a destination place.

I’m surprised Mi Casa has 4 Star reviews… I was really excited to try some Mexican food when I was in Spokane and Mi Casa had good reviews. My girlfriend Lael and I went to get some grub. When we entered we were immediately greeted and sat down, the waiter said we could sit wherever we like. He gave Lael and I each a water and menus… We were checking menu items out and nothing was screaming our names. When the waiter came back we asked him what he suggests. He really didn’t give us a straight suggestion so we asked him how the nachos and the taquitos are. His response was pretty vague and he just said all of our food is «pretty good» We decided to give the nachos a go, we got beef on them. They came out extremely fast which is pretty questionable. I’m not even sure he had time to cook the beef. Honestly is didn’t really taste like beef and if it were beef it was one of the poorest quality beefs I’ve ever experienced. The guacamole portion on the nachos was maybe a table spoon. We were very disappointed at Mi Casa and we will not go back. We didn’t try any drinks, I’m sure they are better then the food quality. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We loved everything we ordered here. My man got the beef(one shredded, one ground) enchiladas which he devoured. My mother in law got mole enchiladas and said her meal was better than the Mexican food she got in Mexico. I got the shrimp fajitas which were perfect. Beans and rice was delicious, guac was great, chips and tortilla chips were also very good. Everything was served warm and with a smiling, friendly waiter. The menus were clean(which is a pet peeve of mine). We loved every minute of our experience here!

Came here a few weeks ago with family. Clean eating area & the friendly hostess seated us quickly and got us the yummy salsas and chips. My daughter accidentally spilled some of the salsa, and the hostess promptly cleaned it up for us. She was very gracious :) We placed our order and we received our food quickly. The kids and my hubby really enjoyed their food. They all got combo meals. I got an enchilada & chile relleno combo and although it was alright, the spinach enchilada was on the salty side. I had my husband taste it and agreed. Beans were a little salty too(but this might just be me because I don’t usually do too much salt). On the other hand, the Chile Relleno was excellent!!! Would definitely order that again! Overall this was a nice place. Very quiet, friendly people. I’d probably order something different next time, but still a good choice if you are looking for Mexican food.

The food is very nice, it actually tastes Mexican, not like all the other mexican places i’ve been in Spokane. My only complain is that when i went there, there was only one waitress although very nice, helpful girl it was a little to slow.

The BEST. Really. The best Mexican restaurant meal I have ever had. Bar none. I had the combo: ground beef burrito, pork tamale and chicken chimichanga. My wife had Shrimp Arroz. We both had margaritas as well(Happy Hour is 3−6pm) Straight to the point: –the chicken in the chimichanga was rotisserie quality. Moist, not slimy. Flavorful meat rolled in a lightly, not greasy flour tortilla. Perfect. –the tamale was filled with similarly moist and flavorful pork. Fresh. Fresh. Fresh. –the ground beef in the burrito was very good as well. Not greasy. Rich flavor. –my wife’s dish was amazing. Plump, fresh shrimp. The vegetables were crisp – not overcooked. Great sauce also. Bonus: –the chips were fresh and crisp. Not greasy. Rich corn flavor. –we asked for pico de gallo… We’ve tried many, many, many others before and this cabbage salad was ridiculously good. We were trippin’. So damned good. –the corn tortillas that came with my wife’s dish were melt in your mouth fresh. Negatives: –the tomato salsa was spicy enough and full of flavor but paled in comparison to the rest of our food. –the margaritas were ok. Good but not great. At happy hour prices, they were fine. At full price, I’d suggest lemon water. Overall, I cannot say enough about just how good this food was. The. Best. Highly recommended!
