It’s 10 years since I was last here. Back then the food tasted authentic. It was flavorful and smelled as good as it looked. I love Chinese food. I’ve had the best from NYC China town, Boston to San Fran and back. 10 years ago this was not a bad place and came several times a week to eat. Not as good, but for Spokane, good enough. Now to the present. Moved back to Spokane and of course had to get me some Chinese food. I was expecting what I had before. Wrong! Did they even update the place? Looked the same. Smelled mildewy and old and just looked tired and old. The dishes were full. But there was a weird taste and a slimy feel to the shrimps and vegetables. The rice had no flavor, nor did beef dish. In short, it was not a good meal. But the soda was good. This place needs a revamp. An update and authentic chef. Will I go back? No! Thankfully Spokane and over to Coeur d Alene now has some much better quality and authentic Chinese and Asian restaurants that are not old looking and great food.

This was my first visit to King’s and it was a superlative experience! I had the beef and pea pod dish listed under the stir fry section of their menu. The food was of the utmost quality and the atmosphere very comfortable. The owner personally visited our table and was a delight to meet. I’ve lived abroad and have a deep knowledge of Asian cusine; King’s tops the list! The prices are reasonable and the service excellent. You can’t go wrong here! I’ll be back often.

I love chinese food almost as much as tacos and i am always looking for new restaurants to try close by my work. Unilocal hasn’t let me down too often so i decided to give this place a try. I got lunch combo L3, pork chow mein, pineapple chicken and fried rice to go. came to about $ 8. there was a LOT of food. chow mein was pretty good and just how I like it with the crunchy noodles. fried rice left much to be desired and you will never convince me that was chicken. it had a strange texture and smelled a little fishy, as if the animal may have had a steady diet of fish and liver. maybe even friskies? idk. avoid like the plague!

The food was horrible, which is too bad because as stated it comes in huge portions. They use off brand soy sauce that tasted like burnt wood. The best thing I had was my soda. I ordered pork fried rice and it had no peas, carrots, or sprouts. My husband ordered pork chow main and it was nothing but onions. We will not be coming back.

Been going there for years and have never been disappointed. The food is amazing, comes in huge portions, and comes very quickly. I live pretty close and love that in less than 20 minutes after calling I can be home again with huge portions of some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had =).

I have been coming here for 5 months now that I found it lol. I love the food and it is one of the best Chinese places in the area. Super fast service and always a smile from the staff. The outside of the building looks like the 80s as does the inside, but the food is amazing!

Stopped here hungry for something, not fast-food, and found a pleasant surprise here at this out of the way place. Chinese that was not only tasty, but reasonable to the wallet as well. The vegis that were in my dish were fresh, and the food was hot. It could have used a a little more soy, but overall not too bad. Service was kind and quick. Not willing to go out of the way for, but worth the stop and wanting Chinese that won’t bust my wallet

Good food! Good service! We have enjoyed Kings for years! Not sure why the negative posts. Don’t be afraid to try it.

DELICIOUS food. Definitely the best in town. With that being said, the restaurant itself seems very unclean and is highly tacky(which I would expect). I am not one to believe rumors… but somebody once told me that they saw the cook drop meat on the ground and pick it back up and fry it. YUCK! This place used to be my favorite but I absolutely refuse to go now.

Went in for lunch this afternoon. Waitress was grumpy. She wasn’t going to let us order of the lunch menu at 2:45 because lunch stops at 2:30. Really? !? After talking to the cook, we ordered off the lunch menu. Needless to say, we should have left after our first negative encounter. Food was tasteless, rice was dry, and everything was lukewarm. Save yourself a trip. .Panda is a mile away and much better!

I rounded up from 1.5 stars. This food was less than mediocre. I got Mongolian beef and chicken fried rice to go. The portions were very generous but I did not enjoy the food. The Mongolian beef was seriously lacking in the flavor department, and the meat was wayyy too soggy. The rice was very very bland and very mushy. I LOVE fried rice and this was among some of the worst that I have had, ever. It almost seemed like they had just reheated rice from the previous day. That’s how mushy and over cooked it was. Should have saved the 30 bucks and gone to Panda Express down the street. I will not be eating my leftovers, that Is for sure.

First time, found hair in my food and more than one strand completely disgusted. Maybe just work on the cleanliness of this establishment.

The staff was very friendly, but we ordered our food to go, so unfortunately, we are paying for the food. We ordered a variety of items and none stood out as very good. Very sub-par, but also not the worst Chinese food we have had either. And if the food suffers when Mr. Wong is not there(as Joy stated), that is not the fault of the reviewer, we can only review what we experienced.

I can’t believe the negative reviews of Kings. The Wongs(the owners) are amazing and kind individuals and Allen Wong(the chef) is absolutely amazing! If you have come to Kings and the food seems sub-par it is likely because Allen had the day off. Sometimes when he takes a day off and they hand the kitchen over to another person the food quality suffers. Seriously though, my FAVORITE Chinese place!!! I HIGHLY recommend the Kings Lomein, the Coconut Chicken, Honey Walnut Prawns or the Mongolian Beef. Now I am hungry… I think I better go to Kings…

This place has been here forever.(I remember when it was an A & W growing up) This was one of the first resturants to open out in that area. The service has always been very friendly. The prices I think are about average to eating out in general. I have my favorite Chinese place that is closer to me, but my mom likes going here.

Food ok. Better chinese just a little ways down Sprague, but I have been to worse places too. The service is really friendly here, which is always nice. I think they charge a bit much, but like most Chinese places they give you a ton of food so I guess it works out. I still think overall they do a fairly good job and will go back soon to try some other entrees and maybe up my rating.

This is our FAVORITE restaurant in the Spokane area !! We have been eating here on a regular basis for more that 20 years !! It is family owned by the Wang Family,(which means King in Chinese), who are some of the friendliest folks you will ever meet. The food is very flavorful, portions are generous and the prices are more than reasonable. We usually have each person order a different dish & then we all share the food and end up taking home several«doggie bags». Forget about the appearance from the outside. If you’re after great Chinese cuisine at a great price in a casual atmosphere… You won’t be disappointed here.

S’ok. The place looks like a casino from the front. Lots of tacky flashing lights and such. It was pretty middle of the road place, average dish about 11 bucks or so. Food was ok, on par with most of the chain places. Fast service.
