Absolutely horrible experience. I was referred to this facility by a CVS minute clinic after returning from an extended vacation with a medical not so Emergency Room emergency. The staff was unprofessional and implied that because I had never been there before, I wasn’t trust worthy enough to show them my ID card on my phone. «We don’t know you from Adam.» In the age of paperless society, they insist that you have a physical ID card or fax one to them– news flash!!! my insurance company doesn’t send those anymore.

The wait time is too long. They have one person at the check in desk who is not friendly at all. Less than helpful. Not fully staffed for the number of people coming in for services. Great location with ample parking. Appears very clean. Although it is a fairly new facility.

Community Health Pavilion and MedCheck is conventiently located on the corner of 10th and Main Street in Speedway. Easily accessible off 465&10th or 465& Crawfordsville Road Exit. The Pavilion was built from the ground up instead of a remodel so it remains new in appearance and well maintained. They are open 7 days a week from 9:00 am — 9:00 pm. Parking is just a few feet from the front door in a well lite area with a canopy drop off area. My wait time for walk-in appointments has been between 20 – 25 minutes. The staff was friendly and I personally liked the physicians I saw and felt confident with both doctors. All appointment information was at my PCPs’ office by opening of next day. A few options to reduce the wait time, of course, is online. MedCheck WebAhead is a free service with options to schedule an appoinment, pre-register and dowload paperwork to complete before your appoinment. No one enjoys paperwork, especially when your sick, or trying to hold a sick child while completing paperwork. MedCheck treats most of your non-life threatening illnesses or accidents. You know the common cold, flu, ear or sinus infections, asthma, broken bones or sprains. Depending on your insurance, if applicable, consider using MedCheck if you can’t schedule a same day urgent PCP visit. They also perform school or sports physicials plus you’ll find a $ 20 coupon online. I was told they are trying to get an MRI scanner onsite to eliminate an additional appointment elsewhere. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

This is a really nice location, although somewhat out of the way from the main areas of Speedway. This Community Health Pavilion, with one of their several MedChecks, is part of what is helping Main Street Speedway’s comeback. The community seems to be on the verge of becoming a cool hip place to hang out. A new Broad Ripple in the making, perhaps? The MedCheck itself is brand new — just opening in December of 2012. The clinic is open till 9pm nightly and appointments are not necessary, but can be scheduled online(like call ahead seating) so your wait is not as long. Since the facilities are new, they are very clean, but the décor does not have that off-putting, sterile feel. Instead earth tones and sleek lines with an eye on technology integrated design have an inviting feel. It is reminiscent of Community Hospital’s other modern projects. The staff is friendly and quick. It felt as if I was visiting my child’s normal doctor since they have access to Community doctor’s medical records electronically. Another benefit of their technology is that they have electronic scripts, which means that your meds may be ready before you even get to the Pharmacy! If you’re in a pinch for medical attention, skip the expense of the emergency room and see this MedCheck on the west side.
