True NY Pizza is a small pizza located in the D’Andrea marketplace. It is located in the northwest region of the marketplace roughly between Subway and CVS pharmacy. There menu is impressively large and includes pizza, salads, sides, pasta, entrees, calzones, rolls, subs, and canoli. Cheese, Sicilian, White(Ricotta + Mozzarella), Pesto, Combo, Chicken Parmigiana, Spicy Chicken, BBQ Chicken, Hawaiian, Vegetarian, All Meat(Ham, Salami, Meatballs, Sausage, and Pepperoni), Penne Ala Vodka, Greek, Artichoke Chicken, Crispino(Pesto, Tomato, Roasted Peppers), Spinach, Eggplant, and Grandmas(Plum tomatoes) are the main pizza options, and range in price from $ 15 to $ 24. Additional toppings cost $ 2-$ 3 each. They also sell select pizzas by the slice(~4 different types a day? @ ~$ 4 ea.). Salads options include Antipasto, House, Gorgonzola, and Greek, and range between $ 5 to $ 10. Garlic Knots, Meatballs, Sausage, and Fresh Mozzarella and Tomato Platters are available as sides and range from $ 5 to $ 10 in price. Pasta dishes cost about $ 13 and include Lasagna, Baked Ziti, Baked Ravioli, Spaghetti, Penne Primavera, Penne alla Vodka, Fettucine Alfredo, Cappellini Angelina, Tortellini della Nonna, Pasta Caprese, Farfalle with creamy pesto. They come with a Fresh Garden Salad AND Garlic Knots. Entrees options include Chicken Parmigiana, Marsala, Francaise, and Picatta, and Egglant Parmigiana and Rollatine. The entrees come with a Fresh Garden Salad, Spaghetti, and Garlic Knots($ 15 — $ 17). Calzones start at $ 7 with each additional topping 0.75 c each. Rolls include Spinach, Pizza Pop, Chicken Roll, Vegetable, and Stromboli($~7). There are four sub(heroe) options: Meatball, Sausage, Eggplant, and Chicken Cutlet Parmigiana(~$ 7 ea. for a 6″, and $ 9 ea. for a 12″). Large Cannolis are $ 3. They have a decent drink selection including Sodas(Dr. Pepper, Coke, Orange and Grape Fanta, Sprite, Lemonade, and Rootbeer?), Vitamin Water, Water, Bottled Water and Powerade. There is limited booth-style seating, with a max seating capacity somewhere around 20 people. Good for small groups and takeout. The staff were kind and had a good sense of humor. Although you order at the counter, you don’t pay for your food until after you eat(with the exception of takeout). I ordered a slice of Buffalo Chicken, White, and Crispino. The pizza slices were quite generous in size, cheap, and thin. Three pieces was more than enough to feed 2 people. All three options were quite tasty. My favorite was the white pizza. I have never had ricotta on pizza before, but found it to be delicious. My wife and I found the pizza to be incredibly salty, so its probably best to steer clear if you have high blood pressure or are particularly sensitive to salt. Protip: If you want a side of Ranch for dipping definitely ask. The staff were more than happy to provide my wife and I with 2 large containers of ranch free of charge.

My husband and I went here for lunch today. Overall, it was a positive experience. We ordered three slices, and shared them(the white pizza, pesto pizza, and spicy chicken). My favorite was the white pizza, with the spicy chicken in a close second. I found the pesto pizza to be on the greasy side. Overall, the pizza was good. The crust was nice and crispy so the ingredients didn’t turn it into a soggy mess. The down side was that I found the pizza to be too salty for me, but the flavors were good. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

I wish it was possible to have this pizza in an IV on my arm. Then, have an IV of their ranch in my other arm. This place will want to make you give up your first born for more of their pizza. Because this pizza has made me feel like I was reborn, I wrote a haiku: Pizza is my life True NY everyday Pizza be my wife Thank you. Thank you.

I saw this place on Unilocal, and I have to say all the reviews were spot on. The staff was great, the pie was wonderful, and service was prompt. I recommend this place if you are in town, it is not touristy and has a local feel which is nice, I do not have a favorite pie, they were all great.

Just moved to Tahoe from NY– best pizza I’ve had on the West Coast. Worth the 40 minute drive. The owner is from NYC and you can tell!

Love love love this place! The chicken artichoke pizza is outstanding! My fave is plain ‘ol cheese… it’s out of this world. The delivery times can be a little long, but it’s well worth the wait. We order from here at least once per month.

Best cheese or pepperoni slice in the greater Reno area. HANDSDOWN. I NEVER order cheese pizza anywhere, but I tried a bite of my wife’s once and WOW — -I am hooked.

I am truly sorry. I am truly sorry you were not here to enjoy the pizza we just inhaled. It was hot, full of cheese and flavor. Amazing sauce, crust .and pizza-y goodness. And did I mention they delivered? Hot, wonderful. Garlic knots with little bitty pieces of delicious garlic hiding… but they couldn’t hide from me. What a glorious day.

I LOVETHISPLACE! I’ll admit it, I’m a creature of habit. If I find something that works, I generally stick with it. In my quest to find really good, authentic pizza around Reno, I was referred to this place by a coworker from New Jersey. The short answer, if you want authentic NY-style pizza, this is your place. Score: 1. Awesome crust! Not thin like a cracker but just thick enough to support the generous toppings while still maintaining a nice crunch on the bottom and edges. 2. Did I mention generous toppings? Giant portions of meat and veggies covered the pizza with just enough room to hold onto the edge without getting your fingers messy(unless you like it like that! I’m not judging…) 3. Flay-vah! None of that tasteless mystery meat here! Various choice recipes will leave your mouth singing praises to the chef! My favorites: spicy buffalo chicken, white pizza with eggplant and meatballs, barbecue chicken and for those times when I feel my carbs have been neglected, baked ziti pizza, but only on Fridays! If they don’t have the combination you want, just ask them. They can hook it up! 4. Great value! You can get pizza by the slice. The slices are large and full of toppings and the prices are very reasonable. Snore: Not really a «snore» but the flavors can sometimes be a little inconsistent since they don’t come out of a can or jar. I have had the most consistency when Shorty is in the kitchen. She has told me that her goal in life was to be a pizza chef and it shows! If you stop by, tell her I sent you!

Best pizza out in sparks hands down! They always have a variety of slices ready to go for a great price, my kids would probably draw blood over the last piece of cheese pizza. Garlic knots are great as well as their salads. Haven’t had a chance to try the pasta but from what I have seen people get its next on the list

So one day last week I was randomly browsing Unilocal when I flipped by a photo of cannoli. At first I thought one of my Unilocal friends must be visiting somewhere cool… maybe on the East Coast? And then I realized that THECANNOLIWASINSPARKS! I immediately texted Husband and fellow cannoli-loving Friend and made plans to drive(and drive, and drive) out to Utah – er, VISTA, I mean – to give these local cannoli a try. We were greeted by Shorty, who immediately told us about all the pies that had been made that day for slices. I was intrigued by the Chicken Parm Pizza, and I always love a good White Pizza, and I ALSO wanted to try their pasta, and Shorty was so wonderfully enthusiastic about everything they had to offer that… let’s just say we ordered a crap-ton of food. Between three people we had five slices, salad, garlic knots, and enough baked ziti to feed four hungry people. AND we hadn’t even gotten to the cannoli yet! First, the pizza. I REALLY enjoyed these slices. Having no experience with NYC, I really don’t know what«true» NY pizza should be, but I liked this pizza. Even piled high with toppings, the crust was firm enough to hold up. Of all the slices we tried, the White turned out to be my least favorite, but I would still come back here for the others. And I hear sometimes they have an eggplant pizza, which I would be all over. The rest of the dishes were also great, though we only had room to taste a few bites of the ziti – the rest got taken home for later.(It was, by the way, delicious – both hot and as lunch the next day.) We had to save room for the main event! Shorty had already assured us that the filling was made in house and that the cannoli were stuffed to order… a very good sign. I’m not sure if it was the setting sun blazing in the window or if the gods were shining down on us, but that platter o’cannoli was one of the prettiest things I’ve ever seen. And the verdict? BEAUTIFUL. Delicious perfectly flavored filling. Three perfectly happy people. Did you hear that, Reno/Sparks?! WEHAVECANNOLI. If you’re thinking I’m a little crazy and that I make too big of a deal about good cannoli, then that is obviously because you have never HAD a good cannoli and you need to correct that sorry state of affairs ASAP. Trust me, it’s worth the drive to Idaho — I mean Vista.

The absolute best pizza in all of Reno. They make it fresh and to order which is great, but the flavor is even better! And nothing compares to the white pizza, garlic mozzarella and ricotta. So so good. The portions are also huge for the price, which is so rare in Reno. I was able to feed my family of 5 with just one pizza and a small container of garlic knots and it only cost me $ 27. And the flavor was so good that we didn’t even need ranch!!! And of course, Paul and Michelle make the atmosphere that much more inviting and comforting. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Yes! This pizza is definitely one of the best call ahead and pick up places to get an awesome tasty, loaded with love pizza. I don’t think I would want to dine in here though but we will get to that in a few. We ordered a large pizza here one night. It was a meat loaded pizza and I can not recall the name. But I have never had a better pizza that I have picked up and brought home and been amazingly satisfied with. The pizza alone warrants five stars. The crust is awesome. Crunchy but soft and chewy. The toppings are plentiful. The pepperoni is spicy. The sausage is meaty and has a nice hint of fennel which I love. The bacon chunks were thick and hefty. They are VERY generous with all of the toppings and everything was so fresh. Loved the pizza. We did pay $ 26 for a large which seems somewhat pricey to me being that we didn’t have it delivered. I do not think I would ever dine in here. The place is small and they have no alcohol. I am by no means a raging alcoholic but if I go to a pizza place that serves delicious pizza I would love a glass of wine with it. Maybe they specialize in take out I do not know. All I know is that I will definitely be back for a take out order but absolutely no dine-in.

I had been told for awhile that this place has amazing NY style pizza. I would have tried it sooner if it wasn’t in Sparks… so far away! I finally had a chance a few weeks ago and Damn if it isn’t worth the drive. The crust is thing and crispy and perfect, the marinara is made in house(I know, right?!), and the cheese was just the right amount to be stringy and chewy and freaking YUM. Also had the garlic knots(They had a viking funeral-sea of marinara!) and those were so good. Little chunks of garlic hiding in them making them delectable. I will definitely be back and probably order the exact same thing because it was that good.

This is the only place in town that we truly enjoy pizza. Thin crust, NY style pizza in its simplicity. When Paul is at the helm, we know we’ll get a little slice of heaven in each slice pie. And the Canolis! Yum!

Being right down the street from my office makes this a great place to grab food. They also are kind enough to deliver for a small fee. Usually we have them delivered(the chicken parm pizza easily serves 4 people) and the ordering process is always easy and friendly. The deliver time is prompt and the delivery person is always courteous when they drop the food off at HR and wait for me to come down and sign for it. The slices are large and perfect for 4 people. Hungrier folks may opt to only split the pies 3 ways instead. The toppings are so plentiful that the slices seem double their size due to girth of delicious ingredients. This last visit was my first into the store. It was clean and well appointed. Though the staff member working was busy with another customer she was quick to greet my friend and I. Once she was finished with the other customer she immediately focused on us. She was patient and walked us through all of the offerings they had by slice(we just needed a slice or two each for lunch). One in particular caught my interest — the Baked Ziti pizza by the slice. Baked Ziti? Pizza dough? A divine smell wafting through the air? A little slice of heaven… hardy har har… but seriously… HEAVEN! Imagine cramming your grandmothers homemade ziti onto a crispy slice of bread baked fresh and you have a small hint of the pleasure that awaits your italian craving tastebuds! Soda selection was canned but they had a great selection — Fresca. Pepsi. Fanta in a can? Awesome. They had pepper, cheese, etc all available for us to top our pizza if an additional zing was needed. The one odd part was that the silverware was delivered when our pizza slices came out of the oven. Not so weird right? Correct. Weird part was when I completed my meal I threw away my paper plate and was left with no disposal area for my utensils(metal) to be rewashed. I had to grab the attention of an employee and asked where to place them. The answer was the employee would take them. Leaving them on the table felt weird but chasing down and employee also felt weird. Give this place a shot if you’re in the area. I recommend a whole pie topped just the way you like it. Don’t stop at just one slice. Nobody will blame you once they smell the aroma wafting through the air… plus you’ll need to the whole pie when your coworkers or family begin to steal bites… or slices!

Customer service = 5 stars. The employees were really nice and offered my family and a discount because we ordered so many slices. What I didn’t like is that the slices were not fresh. Who knows how long the sat inside of the glass thingy under no temperature control. Normally this would have made me immediately walk out, but I was so freaking hungry plus we were on our way to the circus that night so it had to be fast. I took a gamble and paid for it later. I felt extremely sick to my stomach. The pizza was really greasy. The place itself is a little sliver between the other stores so it’s pretty small. Even though there are tables, I would say this place is not a good place for larger families or groups. Also it wasn’t kept up very well. I do see they offer delivery and have the option to have fresh pizza made, I may try it if there’s absolutely nothing or if someone else brings it, but I can’t say that my family or I would return.

I can’t believe I am making this declaration… Well, here it goes… BESTMEATBALLS I HAVEEVERHAD! This place was a recommendation from a co-worker who gave me pretty much the low down. The owner is originally from NY… bringing the good stuff out to the people in Sparks. What a find. Grub for the day? ½ eggplant parm, ½ pesto pizza side order of meatballs garlic knots Alright, so the pizza… I should’ve had the pesto slice first. Haha. While it was absolutely delicious, the eggplant parm slice was a burst of flavor town. The combo between the sauce, cheese, and eggplant made me want to do a happy dance. They were not stingy with the ingredients whatsoever. My only complaint? The crust was a little thicker than I was used to. Still very foldable though to eat it the NY way! The meatballs… le sigh. Two huge meatballs covered in delicious marinara sauce goodness… They were incredibly homemade as you could see the imperfections which made them that much more perfect. The onions were roughly chopped… the seasoning was to the T… the quality was impeccable… a must try. Garlic knots… what’s not there to like about pizza dough covered in garlic and cheese? Dip it in some marinara and you’ve got yourself an awesome app. Oh, and they have homemade ranch. The pizza was so flavorful that I really didn’t need it though. Best pizza out here. 5 delicious stars.

$ 2.50 per slice for yummy in your tummy pizza! I am all about supporting and trying out small local businesses. Visiting family here in Nevada, we came across this pizza joint and all of us were satisfied. They are located in large strip mall right next to CVS. Must tries — supreme, pesto pizza and garlic knots. A dozen knots is less then $ 5. Large portions, thin crust, flavorful. They restaurant is clean, with a few booths to sit at and large flat screen. Service is great, very accommodating. High five to cheap yummy pizza. If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely come back!
