Friendly staff, good food. Stopped in en route from Denver to SF. Burger and couple rounds in the batting cage was the perfect way to fill the tank and stretch my legs.

A great place to spend time letting your kids practice their batting. Fairly priced, and the food is good. The customer service is ok. We had one woman treat our 8 year old son poorly, but other than that they have been pretty nice. We drive in from fallon to let our kids get their practice in.

Great family run restaurant and bar. They have great food. The burgers are really good. Fun atmosphere. It’s a sports bar and they have indoor batting cages for kids and adults.

Great food, pastrami and tuna sandwiches surprised us with their tastiness! Cages and equipment were nice.

Enjoyed a Sunday lunch here with a couple of friends. I had one of the best cheeseburgers I think I’ve had in a long time and a huge basket of fries which I split with my husband and our friends had cheeseburgers and a tuna sandwich which they both enjoyed and my husband had the pastrami on rye grilled. It’s a pretty interesting place with batting cages indoor golf and the place was very busy. The owner Tommy came by we got to met him very nice gentleman. We will surely return for another excellent cheeseburger or something else on the menu. It’s kind of out-of-the-way in the industrial area of Sparks but not far from where we live. It would be a great place to take with your kids or grandkids. Lots of things going on and many large-screen TVs around.

A hidden gem. Pastrami burger(with double patty and jalapeños) is the best burger in town! Hands down! Great value, friendly service, clean, jumbo TVs and fun to be around batting cages. A driving range too!

We have lunch at Tommy’s almost every Saturday and Sunday. Food is awesome, cheap and they also serve beer, wine and hard liquor. Hamburgers are the best in town and so are their sandwiches. Al is awesome and Tommy is a great hard working guy. We’ve been going in there since 1991!

I was looking for a place to have a burger for lunch. Looked on Unilocal and found this place right around the corner! I had no idea it was there. It is an odd location in the industrial district. Once I entered I understood why it is here. They have batting cages and an indoor driving range! I did neither, since I was hungry. Just ordered up one of their popular burgers and grubbed down. The food appeared to be of decent quality and well prepared. The staff were very nice. The ¼ lb burger left me hungry. You can upgrade to a ½ lb burger, which is what I will do next time. The ¼ lb burger is about $ 7. I’ll be going back there for a ½ lb burger soon.

This place has everything you need to work on your swing. Doesn’t matter if you are looking to hit baseballs, softballs, or even golf balls. Underhand pitching all the way to major league level fast balls, the cages at Tommy’s accommodate all levels. This place is even perfect for private practice or large groups. They cover all the bases. Tommy’s has all the supplies that you will need to have a good time. Didn’t bring a bat or golf club? Don’t worry, they have that covered. You can also get some drinks and food while enjoying the cages. Although the beer selection and food options are limited, it’s all that you will need. I have never used batting cages before and this was a pretty good experience. I had a lot of fun hitting balls and having a few drinks with friends. The one thing that was unfortunate is that the employees lack enthusiastic attitudes about their job. It’s really not something that would prevent me from wanting to come back regularly. It is a really cool alternative to your normal weekend activities. Hopefully my time at Tommy’s pays off on the real field.

Overall being it my first time there I really like the atmosphere and it was pretty afordable for me… the people who worked there seemed nice and easy to work with… the cages it’s self were nice… I’m not to experienced with how the cages work but the seem nice clean etc… and do have cages ranging from beginner’s and little league to cages that pitch to 70 mph :) overall no matter if you are play little league or want to get to practice in… it’s also nice that is is a deli/restaurant :)

I’ve not used the cages, this review is just for the food. Part of me wants to give this place 4 stars because it is, without a doubt, just a snack bar attached to a batting cage. But, the burgers are damn good. Tommy is pretty much always there to take the order and say hi. When he’s not, it’s his daughter. Always friendly and always quick with getting the food out. I have been here a few times and I have yet to get anything but a bacon cheeseburger and fries because they are just that good. There are two other huge bonus points I have to give to this place, even though it may not make a difference to others. 1. I can walk to this place from my office in less than five minutes. Total lunch break time is 30 minutes when the place isn’t busy(45 when it is). 2. Tommy, the owner, is Tom Newell, former pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies(my hometown team). Unfortunately, he was injured before he could play more than two games with them. Despite that, it’s still a treat to hang out with a former MLB player.

We love this place. The food is great but the atmosphere is even better. The staff is friendly and fun. My son plays baseball and we love to brush up on his skills.

Insert ridiculously long and unnecessary back story/child hood memory/what I had to eat all week long/my mood this morning etc etc typical self absorbed Unilocal review Randomly found this place online and decided to give it a try, saw a picture of the Pastrami Jalapeño cheeseburger on someones Unilocal review so decided to go with that and WOW. Was the best burger I, ve had in a very very long time. I usually don’t write Unilocal reviews because Unilocal and the people who leave Unilocal reviews annoy me but this place is too damn good. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

«Hey batter, batter HEY!» I just a looked at the pictures, apparently this place has been here for at least 4 years. I would have never ventured here or even guess this existed, but I am sold! I came here for a Unilocal, new bar Tuesday event, and I am so glad I did. There are about 5 batting cages, and 2 tunnels I think. There is also a putting green behind the one side of cages by the arcade lane. The arcade game wasn’t fancy or really new, but who cares! I love me some nostalgia! The batting cages are as follows, a kids only one, I don’t remember the speed posted. Then a 45 mph, 55 mph, 65 mph, and 75 mph speeds for baseball, while every cage has softball speeds available. The tunnels seemed to be for lessons and or coaching, possibly for team practice even. The food, was great counter/snack food. Sandwiches, melts, hotdogs(I think), burgers and other fried appetizers like cheese sticks, corn dogs and onion rings etc. There was also a counter of slot machines for those who like to gamble. I had a corn dog and mozzarella sticks and they were great. Not overly heavy in grease. Would I come back? DEFINITELY! In fact, I am bringing friends back here as I think its a great substitute for bowling or the grand sierra golf course when needing some fun activities to do. The prices seemed great to me, I think it was 20 balls for $ 2.50 to start(I have a picture), and it didn’t help that I got to go a couple rounds for free, but I also hit about 75%-80% of them, so I was pretty darn impressed by myself haha It made me want to check out softball leagues that’s for sure, though I actually did better on the slow, 45 mph baseball cage.

Swing Batta, Batta, Batta… SUHWINGBATTA! STRIKEONE! That’s for not finding this place sooner! Tommy’s is a sports bar tucked away in an extremely industrial complex right at the edge of Sparks offering up something unique and novel to our community… Indoor batting cages, driving range, and arcade complete with beer, a full bar, and yummy burgers! STRIKETWO! That’s for not pushing myself to swing for the fences in the fast pitch baseball! Whether you’re a beginner or Babe Ruth, there’s a cage for everyone. From slow pitch softball to 75MPH baseballs, they are all equally challenging and all a lot of fun! STRIKETHREE! I’m outta here! But I’ll definitely be back soon for another delicious burger, basket of fries, and a chance to knock another home run out of the park with some good friends! See you there!

Little known fact about me… I was a Hooters girl. Why share this with you here? Well, Tommy, of Tommy’s Grand Stand, was one of my managers. It was really cool to come here for a Unilocal event and see him after all this time… talk about a past time. Big hugs for Tommy! I didn’t grab a bite to eat because I was full from a late lunch I had had with the hubby. I did get a hot dog and fries for my princess, and she seemed to enjoy every bite of it. Considering she’s a very, very picky eater, I would say it was pretty good. Our service was fantastic and the atmosphere seemed to be packed with lots of fun, especially if you’re a baseball/softball enthusiast. I didn’t scope them out, but I did notice a wall full of arcade games as well. So, this seems to be a place of fun for all ages. My hubby and my daughter tried out the batting cages and enjoyed themselves for several rounds. I passed up on the cages because I have very little hand-eye coordination, especially for something small coming at me at rapid speed. I was entertained as I admired my man’s ability to make contact with pretty consistent precision. I hope to return, with friends, to say hi to Tommy, try some of the food, and maybe venture stepping up to the plate.

Went here for a Unilocal event and it was pretty cool. I’ve been a few times in the past when I was playing softball. I hadn’t ever tried their food and this time was no exception other than a stolen fry from my daughters hot dog kids meal. The batting cages seem to be well maintained and the one we used didn’t have any hiccups. The place was hoppin but there wasn’t so many that there was a long wait to use a cage. They seem to have some bats behind the counter as a loner, I didn’t ask if you needed to rent or not. In the past I have used the hardball cages as well and was surprised at how quick I adjusted to the faster pitch. We probably wont go in as much because my softball days are mostly behind me, but you never know we just might stop in again for my wife to catch up with her old boss and have some food the next time. With Todd raving about the pastrami burger, it just might be sooner than later.

This place is top notch! Took the boys here for hitting practice the other day — The cages are well maintained and operating perfectly. We also had lunch — the staff was great about the little one’s allergies and all of our food exceeded our expectations. I mean, really… Good, sandwiches, served quickly for not a lot of scratch in a warehouse off the beaten path. How can you go wrong?
