This is actually Sparks Lounge, not Sidelines and they no longer honor the Sidelines-Yelp-shot coupons. But it’s kind of a fun place, although too smokey for my taste. Apparently since no food is served smoking’s allowed. The beer is good and cold and cheap. Good place to see a band. We were here to see a friend’s band«Bad Penny.»

No exaggeration – every time I’ve been to sidelines I have fun. Seriously, for a small bar in a strip mall, this place is great. If you’re looking for tapas and Tempranillo, it’s maybe not your best bet. But they do have a nice high tech juke box for when the band takes a break, pool tables, very cool bartenders, and the clientele as one Unilocaler stated is not questionable, they are in fact also very cool. I can’t quite put my finger on what makes this place so accessible, but I honestly feel like anyone can have a good time here. I hope sidelines sticks around, they’re becoming one of my favorite after hours hangouts.

Cool bar with great live music. Bar staff are very friendly and there’s a good selection of beers and liquor. They have slots, video poker, pool and darts too.

Went there last Sunday with my wife. They had great local music playing, perfect volume and a great crowd. The bartender was very friendly. We had a very nice evening. We will be back.

One of the finer bar experiences in northern Nevada. This is not a corporate bar it’s a local bar and accordingly has a very diverse crowd relative to the time and day visited. Clearly one of the most active and coolest music venues in this community as well. Friday and Saturday nights always have live music and a full bar staff that is capable of blurring your vision. Weekdays tradesmen and pool players arrive after work and unwind with attractive bartenders that are down to earth and not all fucking snooty. A couple of big screen tvs always have a game on if that’s your cup of tea but that can be found in any bar as we all well know. Playing machines will result in liberal comped drinks, which is often a rarity now in many bars. But not here…

Great sound system that sounds great when Todd Rold is running the board. One of the better stage setups in Reno for such a small venue. The staff are friendly, and the drink prices are average to a little cheaper than some places. The $ 1.50PBR«musician’s special» was greatly appreciated by everyone who attended the open mic nights I attended & hosted. Dave, the owner, is a decent guy, although he can be a little intense & jumpy at times. Then again, he IS a drummer, so that kind of goes with the territory. :)
