Sushi house is one of the best sushi restaurants in Reno. They have good chef’s, nice menu and friendly service. Their lunch prices are great with very few restrictions on what you can order. They have a good weekend specials like on Sunday you can get a free beer with an all you can eat sushi.

We have been here twice so far and both times it was delicious! Had the shrimp chow mein dinner and husband had the general taos chicken and he loved it. They have this chili oil that is spicy but a little sweet and that is my hubbys favorite! Definitely will keep coming back here.

Amazing service. Great quality sushi! Such a nice hidden little place! We came here once before and same deal, amazing food & service. Favorites of mine are always the cooked rolls and they do not disappoint! I love Godzilla and 007. The boyfriend loves the mountain and the hulk. Also the border! The menu has very different rolls from every other sushi place. Making it very enjoyable to browse the menu and find something new every time! The chefs prepare everything promptly and the presentation is on point. The chef’s are friendly and talkative making the atmosphere very enjoyable. This little hole in the wall place has won our vote for one of the best sushi places in town! The place itself has tons of seating and another side for Chinese food. But they allow you to order Chinese at the sushi side anyways. They have lots of specials. Mon — Thurs. $ 13 for all you can eat! Only $ 16 for dinner. Beats every other place in town. Fri — Sat. Buy one get one beer. Free beer on Sunday with dinner. All in all definitely give this place a go. It’s worth

Awful. Just awful. This place used to be a decent alternative for low-stress Chinese food. No more. From the welcoming pot of tea that appeared to be have made from an instant mix through fortune cookies that were so stale that grease had stained the paper inside, this meal was essentially inedible. We are not snobby foodies, but this meal was one of the worst we have encountered for many years. A one-star rating is too high, but there is no zero-star option available. On a positive note, the server kept our water glasses full.

I haven’t been here in over 7 years… I haven’t missed much other than they remodeled. Potstickers are deep fried not pan fried and they should be. They were tasteless except for the sauce. Grease was dripping from them. Moo Shu pork was bland but the hoisen sauce was good. I will not be coming back. I spent 22.00 and it was a waste.

I think I was disappointed because in comparison to other places in town, Sushi House is pretty mediocre. The rolls weren’t terrible but they weren’t really something I would look forward to either. The two chefs working were both nice but one of them kept cursing which is pretty unprofessional in my opinion. Two stars given because the chef that cursed a lot made a special roll for my friend which she said really liked and they offered green tea ice cream. Stars taken because we had to stack the plates we were done with in one big pile in front of us because the waiter didn’t clear a single plate the whole time we were there, the unprofessionalism and the small menu/unappetizing sushi… :(

Egg drop soup: smells like my dog after not having a bath for too long. And tastes like what I’d imagine what the stinky dog’s hair would taste. Fried rice, white rice, and broccoli beef were tolerable.

Happen to be at the UPS store and would not have stopped here if it wasn’t for the Unilocal reviews! Good hot and sour soup with the right amount of burn. Stir fry chicken asparagus with the veggies still crunchy and the chicken flavorful. Nice! Glad I ate here. I’d eat here again when in town.

Have been here a few times now and I have been so impressed. The sushi chef is awesome, everything looks amazing when it comes out and tastes great! The only bummer is you can only have one order of mussels per person for lunch and dinner

I’m happy to bump this place up one star! I went here again to try their lunch menu and everything like last time was very fresh, but I had the added bonus of having all of my orders made correctly by a well trained and friendly chef. My drink I had came out quickly, dishes were also cleared away this time promptly and I was recognized by the staff as having come in a few months ago. The sauces used on my rolls were not nearly as honey-heavy as they were the last time I was there. I am thinking another visit should be in order soon for me.

The absolute best service ever! They treat our family and anyone we have ever brought there like family. The sushi is amazing, and they offer a great selection with amazing prices. The servers, chefs, dishwasher, and owners are all so amazing! This is our number one choice not for only sushi, but anytime we go out to eat!

This is a fantastic place for caringly prepared Chinese food and sushi. Not only do they season their proteins to perfection, but the variety of options is great. One of the other things that makes Shang hai stand out is the online ordering. You can order Chinese and sushi at the same time and it is usually ready within 15 – 20 minutes for you to pick up. The staff is always friendly and eager to help. I highly recommend the sesame beef. It has a perfect balance between sweet and spicy and is never soggy. Portion sizes are large which always leaves left overs. Stop by and enjoy.

Nice place for a good price. Not the best sushi I’ve ever had but a lot of fun and interesting rolls. The chefs were very good but the waitstaff was terrible. A good place to go if you want sushi but not a fancy night out.

This is my go-to Chinese restaurant. I first ate here in the mid-90’s and appropriately or not I base all my chinese food experiences to Shang Hai. The Generals Chicken here is hands down the best Ive ever had anywhere. Including a restaurant in China town in San Francisco. The hot and sour soup is full of flavor and the perfect amount of heat. The walnut shrimp is quite tasty and a good alternative to the generals chicken. The interior is very nicely decorated and has a nice ambiance. I hope this place never goes away, if it does I know my chinese food will always be sub par.

I’m not happy about writing this. I’ve never really been a HUGE fan of Shang Hai but it’s my husbands favorite place so I would go since the food was passable. The event that led me to write this review happened about a month ago and I’ve been going back and forth on if I should put it on-line because it really was the first time I had a problem with them. It really still bugs me though so I figure I’ll «Yelp» it. It was a Saturday like any other Saturday. The husband and I were craving Chinese. I’m really simple — all I really like from his place are the pot stickers so that’s what I ordered. Usually the pot stickers are nice and crispy and flavorful. I picked up our order(he ordered much more than me) and went on home to enjoy it with the TV. I got home only to see that the pot-stickers were limp, grey and covered in grease. I went back to Shang Hai and showed them to the employee. I think it was the owner that I spoke with. I picked one of them up and it put a tear in the pot-sticker as the grease dripped off. He apologized and told me he will have them make new ones and to give him about 10 minutes. My new pot-stickers came out and he showed them to me. They were still limp, grey and covered in grease. It is my suspicious that they didnt make new ones because the tear from my showing them the grease was still on one of the pot stickers. I told the employee that this isnt how they are supposed to be. I was being very polite because I was mostly just confused. He shook his head at me and told me that this is how they have been forever.(I have been eating at Shang Hai for over 5 years so I know that’s not how they have been«forever»). I told him I would just like my money back then. I went home and didnt have lunch. I’m giving the place 3 stars ONLY because my husband enjoys the food. If it were just me I would downgrade to 2 stars. I will probably end up giving them another chance for my husband and will update this review after I have done so but I’m not at all excited about it.

Authentic Szechuan food. Really didn’t expect such great food in the inland Reno. Will come back again

The service was outstanding. They were very nice and had a sense of humor. Very attentive, drinks were always full and sushi just kept coming. King Kong, Godzilla, Sierra, Bubba and Salmon skin were all delicious. A group of 10 of us met here with 3 babies. There was plenty of room and high chairs available for all babies even though two others were in use. They even gave us steamed rice free of charge for the toddlers to eat. The price for all you can eat sushi was very competitive, beverages were a bit above average in price though. My first choice is Ijji, but if a friend suggests eating here again, I will definitely join them.

What happened to this place? Just had the absolute worst tofu dish I’ve ever eaten. Disgusting. I will never come back here.
