My wife and I won’t be returning. The service is awful. The worst on the North Fork in my opinion. They got the order wrong and didn’t seem to care about correcting it. We paid and left. It was a waste of time and money. We won’t be back.

My husband and I just returned from an awful dining experience at Michelangelo’s. Granted — we both have food issues(mine gluten, his garlic) but we have eaten there before and were able to have a decent meal. We were brought garlic bread, so clearly no one thought to mention our food issues to the bus staff. My husband’s order(clams with white wine sauce — no garlic) came with large pieces of garlic hidden in with the clams. The waitress was very nice about it and brought another. We asked to speak to the manager —(who we were told was very busy just now) but finally he came over and basically just told us tough. He stated there was a lot of garlic in the kitchen and maybe it dropped in by mistake. By mistake? We were made to feel as if we should not be there expecting a pleasant meal. I asked for the manager’s boss and we were told HE was the owner. So I said what if it was a peanut allergy and they used peanut oil on someone’s food? He said that was different! Well it is not different — my husband’s allergy to garlic makes him very very ill for 24 hours if he consumes it. Clearly no one in the restaurant has been trained in food service — that food allergies are a serious issue and that it is imperative that cooks and servers be trained in this issue. Obviously we will not return. It’s not as if the food is any good —(bland and tasteless — except for the enormous overuse of garlic) but it was nice to think on a Friday evening we did not have to cook. I will be certain to bad mouth this establishment any chance I can.

I always make sure to get a slice of pizza when I am intown. Usually no complaints, but today’s pizza and staff were just unacceptable. The staff was so miserable/unwelcoming and did not know how to make their pizza today. Crust/sauce/cheese were all out of their norm today. A smile from the staff would be greatly appreciated.

After a long day of moving from Manhattan to Greenport, we lost track of time and end up starving and searching for food. There isn’t much open at 11:15 on a Wednesday… We drove by Michaelangelo’s saw the light on, and despite bing closed(the were cleaning) up, they welcomes me in. The owner, Anthony, was amazing. We had a nice chat, he served what slices he has left and even included a few free ones for good measure. Very nice guy and a godsend tonight. We’ll be back soon! Thank you!

I’ve eaten here several times before and have always enjoyed the food, ambience and service. tonight was a different story. my sister and i both ordered one of the pasta specials. when it came we were shocked to find that our $ 26 pasta was bland, lacking in vegetables but more importantly, it came w/only 2 shrimp! for $ 26! it was billed as a pasta and shrimp dish. when we complained to the wait person, we were told that it was really a pasta dish w/a ‘garnish’ of shrimp.’ ridiculous, and at nyc prices. it may be a long while before i return.

Great food, Great Service, Good Prices. Simple dishes like Caesar salad, escarole soup, spaghetti w meatballs were all perfect, but really the staff was so nice t made the food taste better after a long week at the beach.

Great portion sizes, really really awesome. I did not like the pasta primavera that much, but I loved everything else. Definitely pay this place a visit if you are in the area. It is much better than the shamefully expensive caci’s.

Always consistently good. Pleasant atmosphere and service. Generous portions. Comfort food at its best. Not gourmet but very good. Don’t miss the garlic knots!

Love the food, great service, but LOTS of garlic. Pizza is the best on the North Fork. Bad reviews on here are obviously not from the area and expect everything right away even when it’s mobbed. Sorry weekenders, just take a second and enjoy a drink and atmosphere while you wait.

We order in and also eat in at least once per month. We have never had a bad meal. The dishes always taste fresh and especially the seafood. Wait staff is always happy to see us and are very nice. Service is excellent. Ordered a pie to share and it was very good. Being from Brooklyn where Italian food is excellent, I would give them a B+

Michaelangelos Pizza is delicious — just like Brooklyn style ! And the food from the restaurant is always fresh and delicious –just the way Italian food should be — Always had a great experience dining at Michaelangelo’s !

Very good standard Italian fare. Check out the daily specials for something different. Restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. The staff is friendly and efficient. Nice size bar which gets a good crowd.

Every time my wife and I plus our 5 ½ year old triplets stop in for lunch, late afternoon snack or full dinner, we leave and say, «this place is awesome.» The food quality is consistently excellent with a nice range of Classic Italian fare as well as other continental classics, all well-prepared and served in generous portions. The wait staff are friendly, attentive and available without being over-bearing and go the extra mile to accommodate us to ensure the experience is a successful one, like taking our children’s orders first and bringing them out lightning fast. All this plus their prices are very reasonable. The average entrée is a considerable portion and also included are a large bowl of pasta of your choice PLUS a generous starter salad, all for around 20 bucks. I have only great things to say about Michaelangelo’s of Southold. Yes, even today in a world of generally awful customer service and price-gouging, there are still a few gems. The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is because I reserve 5 stars only for the ultimate in unique culinary experiences.

I have been here many times for dinner mainly because it’s close to home. The food is nothing to talk about and after trying several dishes and being unimpressed(the pasta usually has a funny taste to it?) I now usually just stick to a chicken parm hero or a chicken roll which is average(never understand why places melt the cheese on top sandwich instead of on the bread so you get cheese with every bite but because I work with food I might be a little more critical) my husband usually gets Veal Sorrentino which I must say is good even though I don’t really eat veal. The staff is hit or miss sometimes you get a friendly server and sometimes not. I had one that even rolled her eyes at us after someone at the table asked a question(hopefully she was just having a bad day). The prices are high I don’t drink but our bill is never under 60.00 for 2 people. I do like the décor and although the place looks clean it could use a good cleaning the picture near our table had a ton of dust on it.

This is a staple restaurant for the east end. Food is excellent, especially the specials(stuffed flounder is out of this world). We usually go with a larger group(5 – 6 people) and the service is always on point. The hostess and manager are always so accommodating and the waitstaff are very friendly. This is hands down my favorite restaurant.

I’ve ordered take out here a few times. The food is always adequate. Not great, but getting seriously good Italian food in the area is almost impossible. They have a nice selection of slices to choose from and the workers behind the counter are always polite and courteous. I’ve had an issue the past two times that I’ve been there regarding the warmth of the slices heated up. When I stop in, I’m usually on the go and looking for a quick bite before driving somewhere. By the time I walk out the door to my car, the slices are cold. I’m not 80 years old and I don’t walk at a snail’s pace. I do sometimes eat leftover pizza cold, but when I’m ordering a hot slice, I don’t enjoy biting into cold chicken parm. I’ll make sure to double check before leaving the restaurant

I’m Vegan and when planning my trip to the North Fork I knew I was in trouble. But my trip started out very well fed when I stopped at Michaelangelo’s for a late lunch. I had the Broccoli Penne in Garlic sauce. It was amazing. I don’t even normally like Garlic, but the way this dish was done was divine. The garlic was unoffensive and melted onto the pasta! I thought it was cheese and became worried — but then realized it was melted garlic! That was the best Broccoli Penne I have ever had!

Food was good but W-A-A-Y over priced. You get only a half-full glass of wine for $ 9! Better off going to the Cutchogue Michelangelo’s for take out, and buy your own bottle of wine.
