Timothy Huckabee, DDS

I don’t think anyone really likes to go to the dentist, but Huckabee Dental makes it so enjoyable. Walking into the office is pleasant because of the size, colors and décor. The receptionist and all the staff are always very friendly and helpful. We needed to update our medical records and it was so easy using their ipad instead of filling out paperwork. Also, the guest restroom is always clean and well stocked. I love that they offer mouthwash and a one-​time use toothbrush, so I can freshen up before seeing my favorite hygienist. Thank you for all you do.

In the past my daughter had a lot of trouble with dentists and did not enjoy going to the dentist office at all. I decided to take my daughter in to see Dr. Huckabee to have a filing done. She was very nervous before the appointment but thanks to Dr. Huckabee and his assistant’s kind and caring approach, she felt comfortable and had an overall positive impression with this dental experience! COULD NOT BE MORE HAPPIER WITH THE EXPERIENCE I HAD THIS WEEK. I’m a wimp when it comes to someone poking around with metal instruments, but these folks are pros.
It was my first visit so I had to do all the intro stuff a new patient goes through. Hygienist and dentist were really nice, ON TIME, and although they did offer so pricy extras they never pushed anything on me. I’m fine with someone recommending products and services. Treatment plan in place and I’m actually looking forward to my next visit.

I highly recommend this clinic! I was planning to have braces done, but Dr. Huckabee had a different idea in mind. He told me about Invisalign — a much better alternative than metal braces. Yes, it would cost me more but it wouldn’t be visible and would allow me to easily brush and clean my teeth because it is removable. Seeing the benefits, I decided to go with his suggestion.
I am really glad that I went with Invisalign. You see, I was able to see great results after 2 months of use. What makes it even better is the fact that it was painless and doesn’t bring much discomfort plus it is not embarrassing when I speak with other people.
The doctor also had light and gentle hands. I had Dr. Huckabee’s dental cleaning services and it was great. My teeth would always become whiter and refreshingly cleaner. The best dental experience I ever had. I really recommend this dentist and clinic to all!

The staff is amazing, Stacey my nurse took great care to make sure I was comfortable, she could tell, I was nervous. Dr. Huckabee worked fast and put my new crown in perfectly.

Hi Dr. Tim! Many thanks to you and to your wonderful staff. After having had 3 of my tooth extracted, which healed perfectly by the way. I then had them replaced with implants. I find the implants perfect for my needs and was very stable. I really had no problems when biting or chewing.
I’d like to also express my heartfelt gratitude to you Dr. Tim because of the compassionate, comforting and very knowledgeable service you have rendered as well as the after-​care I needed to improve my dental health. It really feels wonderful!
I would certainly recommend this clinic. They have given me a permanent fix. Having dental implants is awesome!

Dr. Huckabee is an amazing dentist. He takes the time to listen to his patients and help them understand understand multiple treatment options with no pressure. His practice is a great fit for an entire family. I highly recommend him and the other highly qualified dentists at his practice.

The cleaning was fine. However, I think it would be prudent for the consumer to be familiar with their annual benefits and pay attention to services provided/​billed. My daughter had a full exam with panoramic X-​ray done 7 months ago under our old plan. These are typically only necessary every few YEARS. When she went for her next cleaning they were done AGAIN simply because now being with a new insurance company, they would pay for them. That is precisely what she was told after the images were taken.
Our insurance company will only cover that procedure every 3 years. So in all likelihood when we NEEDED current, accurate imaging prior to her wisdom teeth removal this Dec., they would understandably reject payment. Although technically WE weren’t paying for the additional x-​rays… those dollars WOULD ultimately come out of our pocket with any surgery overage because those unnecessary X-​ray fees dipped into our annual benefit maximum. Adding insult to injury, they charged additional dollars beyond what they charged for the identical X-​ray done just 7 months ago.
I phoned their office immediately after the appt. upon reviewing her bill. I requested to speak to an office manager regarding my concerns. After being placed on hold twice and then told both ladies were with a patient. I left a voice mail. I received no response so I called back the next day. I was told she had spoken with the hygienist about the «error» and did not bill insurance after all. This hygienist has been with them since 2007 according to their website, so not a «newbie» mistake. Although they reversed the charge, no one would have been the wiser had I not questioned it.
I requested to speak with Dr. Huckabee directly to discuss my legitimate billing concerns. They took my information and said he would call me back that afternoon. I have yet to receive a response.
Furthermore… The ladies behind the front desk would be wise to be more mindful about what their patients overhear. I found it incredibly tacky when I heard one of them loudly say «_​_​_​, Why did you allow those patients to leave with a balance due??» She then continued on with condescending, chastising remarks to the employee with whom she was speaking.
Based on our poor experience overall… We will take our business elsewhere.

Great experience! Hadn’t been in 5+ years and they were kind and gentle. The office was nice, up to date, and clean. I had a great conversation with the hygienist, and by the end of the visit we were like old friends! Highly recommend!

Due to high reviews, I selected this office to handle my dental work. I scheduled an appointment with Huckabee but was never seen by him. During my first visit they put together a treatment plan for over 10K in work. Which I thought was excessive! Over the course of the last year I had a several teeth treated (an re-​treated!) and spent several thousands of dollars with them and had to keep taking hours off at work to have the same teeth treated and retreated! I have great dental insurance but I have since learned that they «over bill» for services and x-​rays and I was constantly paying out of pocket for treatment and services that they said I needed. If you like being overcharged for your dental work and having multiple treatments done on the same tooth– then by all means– this is your dentist. As for me, I will take my business else where.

Moving to a new area is hard. Even harder to find is a good dentist. I was forced to go to the dentist today because for some reason my tooth chipped on Monday. Upon arrival, the staff was extremely friendly and provided me a thorough explanation of the charges before proceeding with the work (a rarity, based on my personal experience). Dr. Huckabee was super friendly and made me feel at ease in the chair. Bonus points for the personalized TVs in each room that was tuned to the channel of your choice! I’m excited to have found our family dentist!

Dr. Huckabee was very compassionate, skilled, and worked to make it affordable to get my teeth fixed before my wedding. I have never met a nicer dentist! He did an amazing job on cosmetically fixing my teeth. I did a 3 month treatment of Invisalign and then Dr Huckabee did bonding and I got my teeth whitened. They did an amazing job! It really boosted my confidence and I smile so much more!

I’ve been putting aside the fact that I needed some work done on my teeth for a while, but I didn’t like the idea to put on braces again (I had braces on when I was younger, but I never really put on the retainers I needed after), so I let the time pass, a couple of month ago I started noticing it was really getting worse so decided to go to the dentist. He introduced to me the Invisalign (why this didn’t exist when I was younger it’s beyond me) so I said right away YES!!. Having to get metal brakes on my teeth again was my whole fear, I’m sorry but I just hated it before and still do. I’m really comfortable using this and I’m really thankful to Dr. Huckabee and his staff cause they’re always really nice to me.

I have had bad times with many dentists in the past, after meeting with Dr Huckabee and his staff I was feeling I could handle their service. I have an immediate gag reflex and cannot even get x-​rays done without getting physically sick. I opted for the sedation by pill. I was just enough conscious to know what was happening but enough under to not be afraid of what was going on. I give Dr Huckabee and his staff 2 thumbs UP!

I recently moved to DFW from Portland, Oregon and was having a hard time finding a dentist in my area who both had a great reputation and also took my insurance. Needless to say I am very picky when it comes to who I go to for my health providers and I was a bit nervous when I made my first appointment. Back in high school I had to get a root canal after catching an elbow during a basketball game. The tooth had been bothering me so I decided I couldn’t put off a dentist trip any longer so I made a new patient appointment. Within the first 3 minutes in the office, Dr. Huckabee introduced himself to me and personally welcomed me as a new patient. From there the experience was nothing but top notch. Both he and his staff treated me with nothing but respect. Together we decided it was best that I get a crown and he and his staff were able to take care of it right then and there. Within about a week the veneer arrived and I went back in for a brief visit and they were able to get it secured. Since then I haven’t had ANY problems at all with my tooth!
I would 100% recommend Dr. Huckabee to anyone in the DFW area who is looking for a dentist! He definitely knows how to make you feel welcome and values you as a patient!

After a Google and Unilocal search, I came across Dr. Huckabee. I needed a dentist since moving from my dentist in Boca Raton. I knew I was in heap of trouble for not being at the dentist for awhile. I could feel there was trouble, but as always my fear of the dentist keeps me away. I finally gave in and looked up a dentist.
Even though I was scared as ever to go in, they all greeted me with huge smiles and soft voices that eased me up a bit. They reassured me I was in good hands. In my mind I was still thinking «yea right». I explained to Dr. Huckabee to please have patience with me and to be gentle because I’m freaked out about dentist. He checked up on me constantly and let me know everything he was doing step by step, no surprises. The best part was that it was over before I knew it. Normally I would be digging my nails in the chair like a cat. I’m looking forward to having some cosmetic work my next visit starting with the deep bleaching. I have to stop drinking coffee!

Everybody here was friendly and very helpful. You can tell the staff likes what they are doing. Dr Huckabee is very nice and explains treatment well as well as getting great results
Didn’t get the «sales“feeling I have encountered in the past with other dentists.

When I started treatment at Huckabee, I was extremely satisfied with the professionalism of the staff, and their willingness to be empathetic to my concerns and needs. However, 9 months later, I am having problems with some of the work they completed and they will not honor or back the work with their guarantee because I did not see them every 6 months. In my opinion that is absurd, if they believe in their products and services they should be willing to honor their guarantee.
It is ridiculous to think that a patient will always have insurance coverage and be able to see them every 6 months. It has not been one year since I was last in their office and paid thousands of dollars for my treatments. In my opinion they are out for money and have no intention of every honoring their guarantee. The sad part is I now have insurance again but because they want to charge me for something they had done 9 months ago, I am going to a new dentist.
In short, my advice would be find another dentist office to receive service!!!

After posting this review, I was contacted by the Office Manager. Not only did they apologies for the misinformation I was given but they offered to make it right. In short, when I arrived at the office I was greeted with the same level of professionalism I had previously experienced. Furthermore, I was concerned that there would be some level of animosity related to my post. To the contrary, the staff was extremely empathetic to not only that concern but also empathetic to my general fear of the dentist. As it stands, I am still a patient and very happy with the service I have received to date.

Friday afternoon my front crown broke. No front tooth. Weekend ahead. Think dumb and dumber.
I called my Dallas dentist and he was closed. My coworker suggested Dr Huckabee. When I called at 2 pm I was told the office was closing. I explained the situation and Kelly told me to come on they would wait for me.
One hour later my tooth is back. Looks as good if not better than before. Saved the weekend for me.

Didn’t perform services as discussed in advance. Nice Southlake office, nice staff. But you’d better never disagree with this dentist! My wife and daughter started going here because Huckabee had a free whitening offer at one point. Everything was fine until…
But when my daughter had some expensive aesthetic work done (over $ 2,000) and he missed on the color, things went south. Oh, he claimed the color was great (yeah, under those dentist lights!), but in natural light they weren’t such a great match at all. They reluctantly agreed to redo the veneers at no additional cost, still insisting it was a good color match. We opted to pay even more to go to the lab for custom coloring.
The tipping point was that she would need a new retainer, which they made the first time. But when they had to redo the two veneers because of the poor color match, they wouldn’t make another retainer to fit. Ultimately, he even denied agreeing to provide a retainer as part of what we were having done. Nice try! He had already made one to fit the first set of veneers. Later, after things had gone south, he claimed we was talking about charging for the kind of retainer used to straighten teeth, but since things had gone south, he wasn’t going to do anything. Yeah, right! Like I said, they had already done a normal retainer the first time.
At one point, he even threatened me if I posted anything bad about my experience, saying heing wouldn’t tolerate libel. Hey, if it’s true, it’s not libelous — ask your lawyer; I did. Yeah, the opinion here is purely my own. And in my opinion, we won’t be back and we sure won’t recommend this guy!
