Just got home with half my order! Too tired and hungry to go back and correct it! I flushed my money and my food was warm to cool. I usually go to the location on NW Hwy. It’s much better! I won’t be going back to this place. The building is pretty though.

Fried Catfish sounded good the other day, so I decided to give Chicken Express a shot. I’ve been to other locations and have been less than impressed, but stopped nonetheless. Like past experiences, it’s just too dry. I’m ok with crunchy, if the fish inside is tender, but I guess it sits under the lamps too long, because it’s over-cooked and doesn’t offer much flavor. The best part of my meal was the Corn Nuggets I selected as my side. They were quite good, but far from enticing enough to bring me back.

Pretty good chicken, better than the Roanoke location

I always love coming here once in a blue moon for their tenders. Not sure what is in them, but I think there is a little bit of crack that is sprinkled in their seasoning. Normally I just go through the drive by to order and take home, but today, I just wanted to sit in because I travel a lot and work out of my truck. Staff was friendly and interactive, and the dine in facility was clean. its always nice to find a Chicken Express.

This is why you should eat at home… The biscuits are like little hockey pucks and barely edible the fried okra was the usual over breaded mushy stuff and the Chicken wasn’t too bad — the dogs loved it! I had never been there before and thought i would give it a try… The first time I actually wish I had a time machine

My honest opinion, not my favorite Chicken Express — they all have different tasting chicken and gizzards. These gizzards are always strangely chewy. However, this little place is around the corner and we settle. Our favorite Chicken Express is in the ghetto — I’m telling you, it always tastes better there. And every trip includes a $ 4 gallon of sweet tea because we’re southern like that. And a family sized order of corn nuggets! Yum!

Why am I reviewing a fast food place you might ask. Because this Chicken Express is better than the other Chicken Expresses. The food is fresher and the service is better than other locations where the staff of 45 high schoolers pick their noses and flirt while 2 Hispanic dudes pull chicken strips from yesterday off the hot lamp.

Nothing bad, nothing good. When a place provides seasonings for the chicken it pretty much explains the flavor. If I want crust that is fried flour and nothing else I would eat a piece of fried bread which is not on my list of things to eat unless it is Indian Fry Bread which is not what I came here for. I ordered the okra extra crispy and that was the best part of the meal along with the biscuit. But once again this is not Okra and Biscuit Express it is Chicken that I came for. The service was very good and they explained the wait for the okra, but I see no reason to return when there are other chicken places available. For the price they charge for tenders I assure you this is my last visit.

Chicken express is my favorite fast food restaurant but this Southlake location has had very poor quality chicken several times I’ve been. It always taste stale and is never fresh and crunchy like the other locations. I would drive the extra 15 minutes to the Keller location or the Grapevine location just to not get stale chicken from Southlake. Very unimpressed!

Love love love Chicken tenders that are hot and juicy! They come with delicious white gravy, one side and a biscuit. They always give You an extra tender so two go home with the extra gravy for later!
