If you like dry bbq then this is your place, sides are ok, rolls taste like the ones you can buy in the frozen dept of your local grocer. Life is way too short to eat below average bbq.

They up the prices on the meat per pound and lower the number considered that people consume per pound. If you need catering get ready to be ripped off.

Employees seemed bothered that we came in for lunch, but that’s not so unusual these days. Otherwise … well, it’s BBQ. «A cheap-but-adequate meal» I thought. NOPE. From signage, it appeared a sandwich and 2 sides was around $ 7. BBQ sandwich was okay. Sides of cole slaw and beans were skimpy, but maybe portion control helps keep the prices down. I was floored when, upon checking my cre cd receipt, I was charged $ 12.39! Based on «value received», it’s easy enough to drive past Dickey’s to many other appealing choices! Bye, bye Dickey’s

Stopped by in midafternoon for sliced brisket by the pound. Brisket was dry, tasteless, dry, and instead of sliced brisket I got bits and pieces of brisket. Worst brisket I’ve ever tasted. Do not go here for a good brisket go to another location and you’ll be much happier.

Mediocre BBQ spot Worst Bbq spot, compared to peers, I’ve been in either Southlake or grapevine Very expensive for Bbq. Meat Portions are small like rib plate $ 14 and 5 ribs. 3 people $ 42, ouch. Very Small side servings and only one, no refills. Good green beans and good BBQ beans, but small side and just one serving. The mashed potatoes are not very good. Ice cream machine broken The bread is a dry, small, tasteless, not warm, roll, one only per customer. Folks the roll is pitiful Servers are ok nothing to hang your hat on. Mediocre to fair experience. Too bad Dickeys family had a great tradition in Bbq for 3 generations. This BBQ spot is poor, just too many better places to experience for BBQ.

Great ribs and brisket. Fantastic quality for the price. The new owner Joselio was working the counter and greeting guests. Great guy. Very friendly. The place was very clean too.

SOUTHLAKELOCATION not Roanoke!!! We tried to go to the Dickey’s at the Roanoke location(BOO!!). Although the cashier was very sweet and tried to «make things right», we felt the«manager”(?) and cook were absolutely useless and somewhat rude. I had questions and neither could be bothered. With my persistence :) when the manager did take a few seconds(literally), he left me feeling insignificant and we felt they most likely take the same care in their restaurant and food. So we left. It is important to know that Dickey’s is a franchise operation. Tonight we went to the Southlake location. NIGHT and DAY folks!!! Roselio(or JOE) was awesome! He renewed our faith in Dickey’s and even though they got super busy he still made me feel like I was well taken care of! I want to thank the employees at the Southlake location, seriously, the cashier/2 cooks and Joe all had smiles the entire time and we will certainly be back!!!

Top of the line Dickeys. BBQ is one of the hardest things for any BBQ place to be consistent at, but this place does a good job. Much better than Irving Dickey’s. Not many people know its there because it hides behind Burrito Planet. I do see this place slowly getting more business. Its always been clean and well staffed. Dickeys will never have brisket like Snow’s BBQ down in Lexington(best in the world) but its all around a good place with good alternatives like Turkey, Chicken, salad… I always tell act like I need some keys made when I go there. Because they are Dick-Keys. Get it.

Not expecting much. Stopped with my daughter for a quick lunch. Actually better than expected for a chain. They had a Pulled Pork sandwich today(Monday) for $ 2. Got two sides and a pretty decent meal. The pork was good. Portion a bit small for the roll size but for the price, no complaints! The beans and cole slaw were both very good. My daughter had the honey glazed ham. A better sized portion and was tasty. All good!

Dickey’s wasn’t our first choice for lunch one recent Saturday, but because McAlister’s Deli was packed we decided to walk across the parking lot to Dickey’s(which was pretty deserted by the way). When we got inside and looked at the menu our first instinct was turn and leave. $ 9.50 for a serving of meat and two sides was certainly not inexpensive for a cafeteria-style meal. We were hungry so we decided to stay. I did, however, ask the man chopping the meat if Dickey’s had changed its menu and pricing. Unfortunately, he didn’t speak English and had no idea what I was asking. We paid $ 25.17 for two«meals» and two drinks. The meat was very dry(even with the barbeque sauce) and the sides were pitifully small. The server had actually asked if I’d like croutons and cheese on my Caesar salad(would it be Caesar salad without them?). It irked me that we had just paid over $ 25 for an unsatisfying, small-portioned meal for two people — a price you’d expect to pay for a good sit-down lunch — so I decided to contact management to voice my concerns. Two days later, I received an email from the Southlake GM, Mike Koepp, asking just what my complaint was. I reiterated my concerns and never heard back. I then emailed him again(okay, so I’m persistent) and received this: «I am sorry you were upset about the pricing and the portion of the food you recieved(sic). The pricing at the Southlake store is actually the same as any other Dickey’s. Also, we are a newer store so it is not the traditional „help yourself“ theme like some of the older Dickey’s. Those are the prices and portions that Dickey’s corporate asks us to do. If you would like you can give them a call at 972−248−9899 if you would like to discuss it any further. I am sorry again for the experience and I hope it does not alter you away from Dickey’s completely.» Way to pass the buck, Mike. I would not recommend Dickey’s Barbeque. I’ve had MUCHBETTER barbeque in the DFW area at MUCH more reasonable prices(see my Riscky’s review). Standing in a line for dried out meat and tiny side dishes at a cost of $ 12.50+ per person is not my idea of a good lunch. Now I know why McAlister’s was packed and Dickey’s was empty.

As a non-meat eater, I judge a bbq joint by it’s side dishes. Even when I ate meat, sides held a special place in my heart and could make or break my opinion of a meal. When it comes to Dickey’s sides, I’m a bit disappointed. The mac ‘n cheese is gooey, but not in a good way. It seems pretty watery and doesn’t stick to the macaroni very well. The potato salad is extremely mayonnaise-heavy and pureed. Yes, pureed. Some people might like this style, but I’m not a huge fan. The fried okra is kind of… bland. I’m not sure if they season the batter or not, but it just doesn’t have a ton of taste. My fiancé likes the bbq itself, but neither of us left raving about our experience. I wish I could give more stars since the people are friendly(and there’s free ice cream!), but it’s just not my style. I miss Mac’s Speed Shop in Charlotte more and more every day :(

This place is a weird secret. It’s freaking good! I know its a huge chain, but it don’t feel like one. Best jalapeño sausage in Southlake. Sides served warm and were fresh and hadn’t sat in water all day. Nicely toasted buns. Will go back. They have deep fried cajun turkey we get every yr for cowboys games that is wicked.

Yeah! Kids eat free EVERYDAY and the barbecue sandwiches are $ 2.99 after 4pm. Combine all that with the free ice cream and you can’t go wrong!
