Yesterday was my first time going to Salon de Weave after having been to their competitor twice before and not being happy with their service. SdW picked up the phone on the 5th ring and took my appointment with ease. I showed up 15min prior to my appointment and they took me right away — no waiting, then again the shop was empty. Reception was excellent. I got my eyebrows and a classic weave done. The eyebrow service was TERRIBLE. She kept pressing on my eyeball and not my brow bone, plus whatever«wax» they use in house is not adequate or the person doesn’t know how to apply it — more than likely both. The brows were too thick and she made them thinner upon request, however when I got home and could more closely inspect them there were TONS of thick and apparent hair stubble that I had to tweaze myself — she didn’t tweaze at all. She also kept using a razor then put an alcohol based«cleanser» on at the end so it stung like hell. Sorry, but this place cannot do brows for shit — save your $ 10. Now, the weave was perfectly fine with a few exceptions. PROs: There was a senior weaver on the floor who checked all of my weaver’s work and let me know her name and what she was doing prior to doing it. Made me feel much better that they check each other’s work. Doesn’t matter how long you’ve been weaving, quality checks should be common place. It’s a great practice in any field. CONs: She should have consulted me more regarding what I wanted, how tight, and just generally communicate with me rather than just setting off to work. I tried to tell her issues or things I was looking for and it was just awkward or kinda difficult to get on the same page. Also, I guess it’s a black«thing» to constantly sing when you’re doing someone’s hair but I always find it horribly annoying and in that grey area of possibly being unprofessional but I’m also a rather uptight in terms of public conduct. Overall it was a good experience and I will go here again. Minus the eyebrow experience, if it’s the same next time I’ll be satisfied enough.

This brand is Awesome!!! I live downtown so I usually get my hair done by RaNisha at the Highland Park Salon. However I had an event in Birmingham that I was running behind on and there was no way I could make it to HP and back in time. So out of desperation I decided to try out the new Salon de Weave in Southfield because I know they always accept walk ins no matter what. Got there at 4:15pm and by 6:30pm I was done up this time by Sadayja. Shampoo, deep conditioner, 2 bundles of 100% virgin Brazilian hair, a full weave with body curls from heaven. Friendly, Professional staff, Gorgeous weave, Moroccanoil shampoo and deep conditioning, Full Sew in with a beautiful cut & styling for just under $ 200. Oh, did I mention I was a walk in client. Im just shy of 40 years old and been raised in salons all my life. No other salon has come close to the overall customer service, professionalism and beautiful styling that this place provides on a consistent basis. Keep up the good work Salon de Weave and i’ll see you in 2weeks.
