I really like this place. Really unique, cool furniture for decent prices. But the best part of coming here is Julie. She is amazing. Super friendly, helpful and has great ideas. They should bring her to the main location to train everyone else, she is the absolute best and the true reason why I come here.

For the discerning furniture shopper in need of contemporary designs, Bright Ideas should be a stop. Their aesthetic is bright and modern, strong lines and curves rather than straight, by the rule assembly. The pieces have real personality. Bright Ideas in Royal Oak is a Michigan-​based company (bonus) and their clearance centre carries end of the lines, mark downs, and accessories from the main showroom.
Unfortunately the selection on my latest visit was thin on the ground. The few couches sit extremely low to the ground, not so good if you’re a tall girl like myself. Padding left a bit to be desired on the in-​stock models. These are the front room couches to impress your friends and not the sort you kick back to catch the latest episodes of Doctor Who.
Living room options include the usual dinette sets and an assortment of beds. Interestingly, they also stock lots of pillowcase covers and slipcovers to help personalize your furniture. I didn’t spend long in the bedroom area to assess frames or bookcases, not really the thing I’m in the market for. As to price point, it’s definitely higher than I initially expected given all the glowing reviews. The pieces are solidly made, however, and have a likelihood of higher durability and quality than other furniture stores. Your mileage may vary.
The lady running the shop was on a call when my beau and I arrived. No problem, we saw no reason to bother her. She sent a friendly smile our way and helped arrange delivery of some item or another while we browsed. This sure beats the high pressure sales tactics practiced with all the subtlety of a hand grenade in a barrel of oatmeal elsewhere.

This is a great place to stop and visit every once in a while. Some deals are pretty good, others are great. You just have to wait for the right things to come along at the right price. I found a lovely lamp for $ 100 that looked strikingly similar to a model I saw at Scott Shuptrine for over $ 500! The furniture here is well made, well designed and very high quality. It is worth a look to come here before settling for the cookie cutter items sold at most furniture stores.

This is the greatest place to go for rad furniture at a great price. The woman that works here is incredible. She’ll remember you, help you find things, and be very accomodating.

Contemporary + discount + a few scratches or discontinueds = Bright Ideas Clearance Center. You can definitely find some deals at this place. I found a $ 1800 dining table marked down to $ 750 at the clearance center then marked down again to $ 125. Someone beat me to it and even though I didn’t need a dining table I would have bought it and put it in the basement just because of the price. This store carries everything from table napkins to rugs. The center isn’t cluttered and the staff is super friendly. Christmas is coming and so are the deals. So if you’re looking to spruce up your home with new furniture stop here first!
