Nice patio to be able to sit outside and drink some wine while enjoying company. Service was very awkward and if you aren’t a local don’t expect good service. We sat there for a good bit while the waitress had a full conversation with a local older man at the other end of the bar. We ordered some Ashe County Chive and Parsley cheese which was awesome. Downfall is when you buy the cheese and crackers you have to buy an entire thing of cheese and crackers. There are not any good assortments to choose from. Large wine selection and great options. The wine tasting machines are all exotic and expensive wines which run $ 5+ for a 1 oz taste. I recommend choosing a bottle of the menu to share. The price per glass is more expensive than just buying a bottle.

We went on a Saturday evening and enjoyed the live music and great selection of wines. I definitely recommend this for a fun place to hang out, have a few drinks and socialize. Next time I want to try their appetizers. They looked great but we had already eaten.

While they did not have the wines that we came looking for, they made some excellent reccomendations based on what we liked. We ended up drinking a few bottles out on their delightful patio. We also had some cheeses and crackers that were not bad, but nothing too spectacular. The prices were very cheap, which was a pleasant suprise. The service was friendly, quick, and professional. We will definitely come back here again when we are in the area.

I love this wine store. A definte«shop local» treasure in the Sandhills. Robin always has a thoughtful selection of wines for any level of enthusiast. Always a fun place to browse and buy.

The Wine Cellar is a pleasant little sipping stop in downtown Southern Pines with a surprisingly spacious and attractive ‘garden seating’ area in a gated-off alcove in the back. The selection is limited but well curated, with a tasty and mostly inexpensive array available by the glass as well as the bottle. A small selection of gourmet nibbles can be found in a small case, but with Southern Whey just down the block, I’d recommend grabbing your snackage there before doing your imbibing here. Worth a mention is the 2012 Opus One on the nitrogen bar for $ 20 a taste. If you’ve been curious about the hype, but not three figures worth of curious, it might be worth a shot. Personal opinion, it’s not — it is a very delicious and powerfully complex, layered wine, but for the range of wines available at that price point, there are better candidates. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, free sips before you buy, limited but tasteful selection. Do recommend.

This cute and intimate little place has a very personable and friendly atmosphere. The style has a rustic feel with eclectic furnishings. You have many options for seating… If you are in for some friendly conversations and different wine or beer tastings, have a seat at the bar(the oenophiles on staff always seems eager to help you choose the best option for you). If you’re on a date or out with friends this would seem like a perfect place to venture to in southern pines, there’s live music and candle lit tables as well as covered seating outside. As for me, I like to come get a nice bottle of ‘mood pleaser’ coupled with some Brie or goat cheese and enjoy a pampered night in. cheers !

Relaxed atmosphere and super friendly staff! We sampled some wine and I ended up buying a glass(my husband tried a banana nut beer) and they even had mead, which we love, so we took a bottle home. The two ladies working engaged us in a lively discussion and we had to drag ourselves away!

Nice selection and helpful staff! They helped me choose some of the best/most popular local wines and beers to bring back to Jersey with me.

This place is a great little wine shop. My wife and I visit this gorgeous town often now that my parents are down here and we always make a point to stop in. They’ve got a great selection of wines as well as beers from all over. We enjoy sitting down at the bar or in their quiet back room and try their daily flight of wines and grab a cheese from them. My only complaint is that their food selection is limited to a few cheeses but it is still a great spot to drop in and relax for a few. I hear they have live music from time to time in the back but have not been in to see it. The front has some great gift items as well, inlcuding an apron my wife bought that read«Would sell my husband for wine… all sales final!» haha

Excellent wine selection for all budgets. The staff are all very kind and eager to make sure you’re happy. Unique but charming atmosphere. I didn’t like it at first, but it grew on me. Frequently has live music, usually in the bluegrass style. Outdoor patio and indoor seating. Have a cigar outside or play chess indoors. Small selection of meats and cheese for sale, and free popcorn. Good beer selection, mostly bottled, with 2 selections on tap.
