I have been living in the Raeford area for about 8 months now and this is by far the best restaurant I have been to since being here. It’s the first one I can absolutely say I will go back to. The atmosphere is very fun and has its own style. The service was very friendly and did a great job talking over the menu and answering questions. Loved that you can sit at the bar and watch the open kitchen– great feature! We started with kangaroo wrapped in prosciutto, crab stuff hush puppies and French onion soup. The kangaroo was great and the hush puppies were a unique taste– the sauce and garnish that sat under the hush puppies was excellent! The French onion soup was rather sweet, a bit too sweet for me but it had gobs of cheese so I was willing to look past the broth. French onion soup is my go to but this one didn’t do it for me. I had the filet mignon with French string beans and their style of mashed potatoes and it was absolutely delicious, I will without a doubt order that again. My date had the pork belly ribeye and I couldn’t stop grabbing off his plate, it was so tender and juicy! Both main courses were outstanding and cooked to perfection. Very creative menu and they say it is constantly changing. A+ Chef Warren! Outstanding experience!

Outstanding. Casual and relaxed atmosphere, attentive and friendly service. Tuscan salad and escargot excellent. The Scottish Salmon in Massaman Broth was subtly spicy, rich without being heavy. Husband loved his halibut wrapped in a puff pastry. Great cocktails too. This is the kind of restaurant you love having in your neighborhood.

Very good food, and the prices are cheap enough. Staff was friendly and helpful, the only thing they need to improve on is the interior is a little outdated.

Chef W must be great in bed b/c he’s one hell of a chef. I met him tonight when I dined alone at CW. The place was empty when I arrived and I thought perhaps this place had fallen to the gallows. But then I ordered the Onion Soup and it arrived looking like a gold coin from Cathrine de Medici’s purse. When I scooped up the melted cheese and swallowed my tongue danced the way it first did when I tried my first man! The soup had an incredible sweetness and a splash of some kind of alcohol like wine or cognac but it was there and demanding attention. I had the grilled Romaine salad but asked for it cold b/c I don’t understand how people can eat grilled lettuce. The salad was a dance of joy. CW reminds me of one of those restaurants that I worshipped growing up in the mid-70’s in Miami. It’s romantic, charming and has so much class without being stupid. They know how to do it right and they don’t need waiters with a Locust Valley dick accent. The staff was friendly and fast. SO go to CW and you’ll feel as if you’re basking at the Cote Basque.

Excellent dinner for 8. We ordered duck, grouper and flounder dinners. They were all excellent topped by delicious desserts. You need to try the chocolate mousse and pecan pie. Both great choices. Loved the atmosphere, open kitchen and best of all, Anna gave us excellent service. Will definitely return.

We ordered lobster Rangoons, duck and goat cheese tart, a Manhattan, steak w fries, a children’s grilled fish w fresh green beans, pork loin, pecan pie, a chocolate mousse and an Irish coffee… everything tasted delicious! Our server was professional and friendly… and chef Warren is so friendly. He stopped by the table and introduced himself to my hubby and son, so that was pretty nice. They seemed to really appreciate that nice gesture.

Every Time I eat at Chef Warren’s they exceed every expectation! Not only is the food amazing, the staff genuinely enjoys their job, they have unparalleled people skills and a vast knowledge of the fare. The atmosphere is among the most welcoming, you feel completely at home but still know you’re in a 5 star restaurant. If you come to Southern Pines and don’t eat at this place, you’re making a mistake!

This is with out a doubt the best meal we have had in North Carolina. From beginning to the end the experience was amazing. We came to celebrate my husbands 35th birthday. We had one other couple with us. We all ordered drinks grey goose martini’s for us women and two old fashions with blanton’s bourbon for the guys. They were amazing. For tapas we got the lobster Rangoon and tuna ceviche both were great. The wine selection was good, however we had brought our own bottle. They have a corking fee of $ 15 not bad. For dinner my husband and I both had filet mignon very delicious. Our friends had the duck also very delicious. For dessert we ordered the pecan pie, chocolate mousse and the yoga waffle all 3 were wonderful. We were never rushed once. It was a very nice leisurely meal. We met the amazing chef Warren, very nice man. He sat and chatted with us for a while. We will be back for sure. Thanks again for an amazing experience!!!

I have been to Chef Warren’s many times and have always found the food fantastic, the staff helpful without being overbearing and the atmosphere very comfortable. The husband/wife team — with Chef Warren in the open kitchen and his wife working the front of the restaurant — is really great. My food has always been cooked perfectly and they have been willing and eager to make modifications to dishes upon my request. I highly recommend Chef Warren’s to anyone with a stomach :).

For the price I expected a wonderful experience and was delighted still! The service was perfect, the ambiance lovely. We ordered the charcuterie appetizer. The pâté was not exceptional but the cheeses and other meats were. I ordered the lamb special and my husband ordered the filet. Both entrées were cooked and seasoned to perfection. As of right now we are both at home wishing we had seconds. Dessert was excellent, especially the pecan pie which is mentioned frequently on Unilocal. I am not sure about the service complaints I see on here, any place has bad days, I felt welcomed and attended to. We had a wonderful time and will definitely add Chef Warren’s to the«go to» nice meal list.

We made reservations for four 2 weeks prior to our visit. When we arrived for our reservations we were told that the computer system had crashed and it would be 5 – 10 mins. No problem! They asked us to wait«in the middle of the restaurant» which was incredibly awkward as servers were constantly trying to pass us and we were very much in the way. When the hostess(possibly manager? She was far older than the other hostesses in the front) passed us after almost 10 mins, my husband asked about a table for 4 that had been open since we arrived. The hostess informed him that the table was saved for«regulars» and went on to say«it’s kind of a country club thing here, the people who come every week get their table saved.» Uh… what? Nevermind that it was far past our reservation time(and when we were told she could seat us) and we were awkwardly standing in the middle of the restaurant, our reservation apparently didn’t matter. When my husband said to her, very politely«do you realize how that sounds? We have to continue to wait because we aren’t a member of this restaurant that is ‘like a country club’?» She very rudely responded«what, do you want me to lie to you? Fine, someone peed on that table and that’s why you can’t sit there!» We were beyond shocked at this comment and her rudeness. Immediately we decided to leave and on the way out told her that her rudeness was out of line. She responded«this is just how the restaurant business works.» We live in Southern Pines and there are so many amazing restaurants, we have no reason to return to a place that is so abusive towards customers who aren’t «weekly regulars.» Several guests sitting at the bar heard the exchange as well and approached us as we were leaving to tell us how horrified they were at her treatment of us and that the food absolutely wasn’t worth it(we have eaten here a couple of times before and while good, it’s not any better than any of the other incredible restaurants in town).

We always love the food here! It never disappoints us. A perfect place to eat and then catch a show at the Sunrise. The owners are also doing a wonderful job helping propel the food movement by helping out at the local elementary school garden and also with their own urban garden that supplies the restaurant.

My bf and i went here for our 1 year anniversary. My Bf ordered the duck breast and it was very tasty! I ordered risotto with scallops. Presentation was good and combination was good. But risotto was under cooked and scallops were salty. I appreciate that they offered to replace the dish. But i didn’t want them to cook the entire dish so i requested them to cook new scallops. However it was saltier than before. Overall experience was awesome.

My husband and I ate here on Saturday for our anniversary. Everything about the experience was perfect: the service, the food and the atmosphere. I had one of the specials: bacon-wrapped filet, horseradish potatoes and green beans, and I believe my husband had the pork ribeye with cheddar grits. Delicious! The pecan pie is a must. You will be so happy that you ordered it. I definitely see us returning soon.

Tried it again this past week. Highlight: the spicy tomato purée they serve with the(otherwise bland) tacos. I was so excited by it I asked to hear more about it. Yes, they admit they buy it premade. Thanks for the honesty but I was a little sad. I was thinking they had actually nailed something. As far as what they make in house– nothing bad but nothing memorable.

Drove up from Laurinburg for a Mother’s day dinner. Was busy at 6:30pm when we arrived. Sat immediately, but waiter was a bit slow all night with menu, taking our order, etc. Wine by the glass is about $ 8 for average wines. Bread was provided freely and was tasty. Everything is a la carte, For the entry price of entrees on up to special of the night @ $ 34 one should at least get a small side salad. Portions are plentiful for even two with small appetites. Just don’t mention the word«split» as there is a $ 3 kitchen split fee. Tapas are really more like large-small plates. Our company of 4 ordered 3 entrees and a Tapas and all were fed to capacity. No room for dessert. Maybe next time. Saleeb Score: Food: 9/10, Service: 7/10, Overall 8/10, the noise level dropped it a whole point.
