Ok, I had previously given Maggie’s three stars but after eight more visits I’m going to downgrade it to a two as this is really an upscale diner. I will upgrade it to a three when they can consistently get two things correct. I have had a hundred Ruebens from California to Connecticut and Great Britain. I consider myself a bit of an expert. This is the ONLY tester any on planet earth that does not know there is a right and wrong way to slice corned beef so it is not tough and stringy, and it is a cross-grain cut. The Maggie’s Reuben is stringy and tough for this reason alone. Maybe someone in the back needs to go to school. The problem exists at all of their stores. The next problem is the kitchens inability to follow customer instruction. Fries ordered«burnt» routinely come out like McDonalds fries … White and limp. This isn’t rocket science. This is a fry-olator and a timer. I visit all three routinely mostly because of proximity to home and work. The restaurants have a nice feel but the food is pretty average, much like TGI Fridays or the like. I have eaten at one or the other close to 50 times. I wouldn’t take a date but have met for drinks. I just ordered the Fetuccini Alfredo and Broccoli. The broccoli was fresh and cooked to perfection. The Alfredo was tasteless. I guess the cook forgot this dish is rich with butter and Parmesan cheese. I’m guessing this sauce came from a can as it was ready in under two minutes and I had to ask for Parmesan and a pepper mill to breath some life into it. I made it edible. The owner thinks my comments are unfair, but I have VAST experience at this restaurant.

My BF and I went this past Sunday afternoon to sit at a table in the bar. It was not busy in the least, yet we had to wait quite some time to be acknowledged by the waitress, Maggie. She was a terrible waitress. I ordered an Espresso Martini, light and sweet, meaning there’s a choice to have it black or with Baileys. She brought it black. We waited a while to send it back, but she never came over to check how we were doing so my BF brought it back up to the bar to have it made correctly. It did end up being extremely tasty! My BF had a beer called a Little Sumpin. We ended up ordering Nachos and Mini Bacon Burgers. Maggie brought our food but no napkins or utensils or even little plates for the Nachos. We would have been a little more understanding if it was very busy, but it was not. Someone named Mike came over to see how we were doing and I told him how terrible Maggie is and asked to have napkins and plates. He took over from there which was truly appreciated. Mike couldn’t have been more on the ball. We ended up having another drink. The food was very good and the drinks were very good. There were two instances of people coming in w their children and sitting in the bar area which I don’t really care for. One father stood at the bar while his two young boys stood there waiting for him. And another man w his little girl sat at a high top table near us. Overall, even though the food was good, we decided we won’t go back due to the poor service.

Recently went here with my boyfriend. We got two drinks, an appetizer, two meals and a dessert and the price came out to over $ 70. I ordered the shepherds pie which was nothing like a traditional one. It tasted like an Asian dish, not at all what I expected or wanted. Their«Giant Brownie Sundae» is half the size of the one at the Maggie’s in Middlebury. Extremely disappointed and not worth the price.

My wife and I went to dinner here on Wednesday night, 02÷16÷16, and sat at the bar for happy hour. Maggies has 3.99 appetizer bites and a dollar off all drinks until 6PM, I believe it’s Monday through Thursday. We like going to Maggies for apps, drinks and burgers and always leave happy when we do. Unfortunately, when we go for a full sit down dinner we don’t enjoy ourselves as much. So, why fight a good thing? We had bacon cheeseburger sliders, coconut shrimp, chili, and potato skins. We also enjoy their burgers. We enjoyed our food and drinks and service was good. All that and two drinks each costed us $ 50 with tip. Not bad. This is our go to spot to satisfy our burger, apps and drink craving.

Today I went to Maggie Mcfly’s. my little son had a spongebob shake and a kids burger. I had the signature burger it was very good. I changed the cheese from Gouda to blue cheese. Love the fries. My wife had the breakfast burger and loved it with the egg on top. Service was a 10. Great place for a Sunday lunch.

After trying this place several times I have to agree with many reviews that describe this as a chain restaurant with a large menu. The food is average at best and the prices are high for what you get. I think if you would like eating at chilis or outback than you will enjoy this. Sadly Southbury has limited food options so as a local you have to eat here once in a while.

My experiences in no way even vaguely resemble those expressed in negative reviews. Aside from soup that was delivered colder than hoped for during my first visit, everything else has been stellar, both in quality and quantity. Servers are attentive and friendly, and desserts are killer. I especially like the use of locally sourced ingredients. My only small complaints are that the menu is so large, and that draft beer flights are limited to a few plain choices. I really want this location to thrive.

Yesterday was my first time at this location and I have to say it is the best one! The Maggie McFly’s in Middlebury is also nice, but I was not fond of the Brookfield location, which is why I have not visited this restaurant since early summer. I sat at the bar and I felt very comfortable. The staff was very personable and the bartenders Danielle, John, and Josh were very nice and accommodating despite how busy it was. I usually order a manhattan and it typically never comes out the way I like, but John made it perfect and knew exactly what I was looking for! Even though I was not hungry, John persuaded me to order the braised short ribs to take home and they were excellent. I don’t remember the menu being this big, but I was happy with his recommendations and hospitality. I would definitely like to return to this location, so I’m looking forward to the next time I’m in Southbury. I also heard they’re opening a location in New Jersey and I’m interested to visit it since I typically travel there for work.

My boyfriend lives down the road from Maggie’s so we do frequent this place. When we dine in, there have been more than a couple times where they got our orders or drinks wrong, bit they do offer to get us new drinks or meals. But their take out has been really bad. Whenever we order food for take out, they mess up 90% of the time. They either get our order totally wrong, or have lettuce or sprouts that are browned and look like they’ve been sitting in the pantry for a while, charge us for appetizers that weren’t even in the order, etc… List goes on. And they should stop having food picked up at their bar coz the bartender tends to ignore us for a good 15min before rudely asking us what we need. We love the convenience of having maggie’s so close to us but with this kind of service, we’re more than happy to go somewhere else.

Friendly customer service from everyone from the bartender to the hostess. The menu is large and has free range chicken, grass fed beef, and wild caught salmon at reasonable prices. In Miami I would be paying double these prices for a grass fed burger or wild caught salmon! This is my usual spot when traveling up here for work.

Would recommend. This place is worth all 5 stars I’m giving it! Our server Dylan was awesome! Just the right amount of «yes ma’am» «sure ma’am» courtesy mixed with the ego and confidence of a young man to keep the ladies entertained. Food was delicious and he even entertain my fiancé before my bestie and I arrived(ladies were about 15 to 20 minutes late as expected) but my fiancé was seated regardless of my lack of promptness. Great selection of IPA’S for the beer snobs out there and delicious food an desserts to please the healthy people and the«fat kids at heart». We loved the outdoor patio area as the sun was setting. Worth the drive from Danbury for sure! And again, would recommend Dylan! #teamdylan #dylanformayor

Food was good at a decent price. My soup wasn’t hot so that subtracted points. Waiter was okay; didn’t offer refills on our drinks until we were finished eating. Music was a bit loud. Neat place though.

Yuck-o. This restaurant has a real chain vibe. Overly huge menu, which is usually suspect. Not a fan. Here’s how Maggie’s can improve their overall reputation, imho: *Eliminate excess items. How can a restaurant with so many options do them all well? How can they guarantee freshness? *Offer a few specialty items that are unique, healthy, but not trendy. For instance, innovative burgers with grass-fed beef and handmade fries and various toppings and interesting condiments. *Decrease the noise level somehow? *A few changes to the interior to brighten up the space. *Don’t allow anything to leave the kitchen if the dish is sub-par.

If the music got any louder in the restaurant I would of thought I was at a concert. I could not even have a conversation with the person I was with because of this. I left the restaurant with an very bad headache and do not plan on returning any time too soon. I used to go there often but lately its all about the music. I wont quote how the food was because the atmosphere was horrible and I could not enjoy my meal. I like music during dinner but not the kind that blasts you out of the restaurant! Management better look around the restaurant and see who is supporting this place. Its not teenagers! You want to bring in people then lower the music… So Ray the Manager instead of saying thank you for your review good or bad why not say I will look into this and give my customers what they want and need not what that 20 year old wants… they do not support the restaurant only the bar. So if you want your business to thrive then you should do something about the atmosphere so its pleasant to sit and have dinner. I can always go to a concert after…

Maggie’s is one of those places where you can get anything you want. Literally, anything. The menu is a book. Normally I stay away from places with big menus, but everything I have ever eaten at Maggie’s has been delicious. The bartenders make stiff drinks and are always friendly. If you ever can’t decided where to go for dinner, go to Maggie’s. You know what, just go to Maggie’s whenever, it’s that good.

Filthy establishment. Should have known upon entering just how dirty this place was. It literally smelled dirty but we were traveling through on our way home to eastern CT& gave it the benefit(at first). We quickly ordered our food & I went to the bathroom to wash my hands. They say you can gauge the cleanliness of a kitchen by the bathroom and boy oh boy the bathroom was disgusting! None of the toilet paper holders had tp in them(instead sitting on top) and there was toilet paper all over the floors of each stall, paper towels on floor & garbage overflowing(pictures to follow). Food was average at best and after our meal was finished we waited 20 mins & had to find our waiter to pay our bill. Upon leaving we noticed the garbage can outside the door also overflowing as well as garbage on the ground in the landscaping. You could tell that this wasn’t just the nightly litterbug but the sloppy care of this restaurant. We frequent the Glastonbury location & that was our reason for stopping at this one as we thought we could expect the same level of cleanliness, service & food however the two locations are night & day apart! I don’t see this location lasting long at this rate.

The meals are big! A child’s meal is the same size as an adult meal. I have ordered different items. Staff is friendly and the food is decent. The cakes and pie are good. My only complaint is the amount of food… they give too much.

I keep giving this place a chance and keep getting disappointed. The effort they put into the food is minimal. The burger buns are always cold. Had the french dip on the last trip there and was presented with a limp piece of bread, hard cheese and the meat tasted days old. Ew. My daughter likes things plain and simple and ordered pasta with just a plain cheese sauce. When it came out the sauce was more like glue and completely flavorless. So tired of giving this place second chances. I seriously wish someone would open a decent restaurant here in our town.

Based on an impromptu experience here on a Sunday afternoon. Modern interior, high ceilings, large bar, dining rooms & private high supper club style booths. Huge menu: vegetarian, 3 types of beef burgers w every conceivable add on you could come up with, pasta, seafood, and many desserts made by a local infirmaries pastry chef. We had: fresh chicken strips, veggie potstickers(excellent w fresh crunchy veggies), grass fed med rare burger w Brie, bacon, L&T on a brioche bun w a side Cesar salad & sautéed baby spinach w garlic and decadent moist seven layer carrot cake peppered w coconut, raisins, and pecans w a cream cheese frosting. Not sweet. Very, very good. And an old fashioned root beer float and a cappuccino. Everything was better than anticipated. Tasty, well prepared, fresh and fair portion to price ratio. Place was buzzing w young staff keeping busy cleaning, organizing & providing pleasant service. Private outdoor patio is spacious, quite, private and has a fireplace!
