I actually found a Thai place that I loved! The foods are amazing and mixed drinks are great. Unfortunately, it closed for new management I believe. Will definitely come in once it opens again.

I have given this place a few chances but always end up pretty disappointed. Dishes are mediocre and the prices are pretty high for the quality of the food.

So, so happy to have found Aroi. This has got to be the best red and panang curry anywhere outside of Wilton Manors, Florida. My only gripe(and I mean only) is that they don’t do a whole fried red snapper! Our friends, not being Thai savvy, ordered chicken and duck dishes that were wonderful and my husband and I both ordered curry. Him red and myself panang. Awesome. The décor of this place is Zen like. Beautiful with a wall waterfall. The service is a tad hit or miss but food is worth it. Since they no longer have a full bar, bring some good Sake’ which I’m sure they will heat for you or a bottle of wine and enjoy!

My wife and I both got pad Thai. I asked for mine spicy and she did not. Hers was completely tasteless. It was like chewing cardboard. Mine the only thing you could taste was the spice. Overall the quality of the food was not good. Everything was completely bland and not tasty. The fact that we were the only ones in this place should have a warning. Will not be going back here

I just finished dinner here and it was excellent! The server was very nice and offered some suggestions as I really haven’t had much Thai food before. I decided on the Tom Yum soup and the Pad Kra Pao Shrimp for my entrée. The soup was amazing. It was definitely spicy, but not hot just to be hot. The heat added to the soup without taking away from the flavors. There was shrimp, squid, mushrooms, tomatoes, and cilantro in it. The flavor combination was excellent! The Pad Kra Pao was also very flavorful. It was shrimp, bell pepplers, string beans, mushrooms, zucchini in a sweeter basil sauce with white rice. I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to come back to try some other things on their menu. Definitely give this place a try!

VERY disappointed with our dinner here last night. It’s been a while since we had eaten here for lunch. Previously we really liked it. Not sure what happened. But since then they no longer have a full service bar nor a website… They’re probably losing money which isn’t a surprise. Our food had NO flavor. Even my pad Thai needed to be doused with soy sauce. Pad Thai is normally loaded with different flavors. Not here. My husbands meal, which consisted of chicken, shrimp, beef & vegetables in a brown sauce, tasted like it was a frozen dinner. NOFLAVOR. We described it as Alpo — the dog food. The shrimp fried rice needed tons of soy sauce for flavor. We also had the dumplings which instead of tasting the pork all we tasted was overloaded scallions. The desserts were decent tho my spumoni bomba tasted a bit freezer burnt. Our waitress was very sweet but service was off. We were still visibly eating — forks up to our mouths & she came over to ask if she could wrap anything to go –what??? THEN we didn’t see her when we were ready for dessert or for the check. There was only 1 or 2 other tables at the time so it’s not that she was overloaded. The only thing we did enjoy was the calamari salad — 2 thumbs up, But that’s it out of a $ 110 food order. Not worth it. Cute place, love the décor. Sweet waitress. Unfortunately, even tho we’re locals, won’t be back.

Was here for my birthday in March and that would probably the last time. The food in itself was pretty good, but I was definitely disappointed in spotty service. We had a separate room in the back which was very nice for our large party of 16. It was a thursday night so I can’t say the place was too busy. We had one waiter and he just did not give us enough attention. Multiple requests for water and other orders were not returned. Overall, I did not think the price justified the experience.

We were headed to White Elephant in Rockledge, but thought to save the additional drive that we would try Aroi Thai. I mean how had could it be? So we have had lots of Thai and can safely say that Aroi is probably the worst we have ever had; at price points for some items(Soups and Apps) that are on the high side. We started with Summer Spring Rolls for $ 7.00 which were three shrimp wrapped in a thicker rice paper with a small amount of vegetables. It was way over priced and mediocre. We also had the lemon-grass gyoza soup which came to the table looking un-appealing. The gyozas were average but the broth was dull and flavorless. It had no acidity, sweetness or heat. We had Green Curry Chicken and an order of Green Curry Duck which is an interesting twist on Green Curry for someone who likes Duck. They weren’t bad… probably about average but we are comparing to places like Banana Leaf(Malay and highly recommended) on Arch Street and Siam Cuisine in Lambertville. Some of the pieces of Duck were on the tough side. We grabbed a Chicken Pad Thai«to-go» for my wife. We took the short ride home and opened it up to see it was horrid. It looked like no Pad Thai I have ever seen before as it resembled a chicken dish in a hoisin sauce,. It was unappetizing, clumpy mess. The flavors were way off as it was bland and had no taste. Thai food should be bright and packed with flavor and this place just doesn’t have it. I can’t say anything positive other than we will positively ever go back again.

I think this place would be great for pick-up. The prices are fair, portions large, and the food is good for what you can get in a Pennsylvania suburb. I just don’t know if it’s good enough to make a night of it.

How can you have bad service when you are the only customer in the joint??? We went just before 5:00 pm on Saturday and were promptly seated under the hanging umbrellas. The sign on the front door states this is now a BYOB. They apparently had a bar in there at some point that has now stopped serving alcohol. Our waitress greeted us with a smile and left us to look over the menu. She came back 20 minutes later and we would never see her again until we wanted the check which we walked over to the kitchen and asked for. She managed to screw up our order of 2 Green Papaya salads and 2 appetizers. A man brought one salad to the table… we ordered 2 salads. We were told she only put in one but that was okay because it was the worst Green Papaya salad we have ever had . It was very under dressed with what seemed like lime juice and water. It was as if my request for everything triple spicy hot was an insult to someone because we got the exact opposite . The salad had zero salt or fish sauce, zero sugar, zero garlic or chilies. It had shredded papaya cherry tomato and a handful of cashews. Waiters walked by our empty water glasses with water pitchers in their hands. We had to practically trip them to get a refill and then they only refilled the one glass of the person that grabbed them. At this point I see 3 waitstaff and there is now 2 tables including ours filled…(Is my deodorant failing??) What the heck? and what’s with the music that is simply disco thump that never ends? I sent my companion to the kitchen to ask for fish sauce which did appear as I finished my last bite of a salad that I should have just left .The duck roll appetizer was soggy wet and fell apart and the chicken satay was ho hum. The portions were overpriced, small, bland and not probably like anything I have eaten in an authentic Thai restaurant. We will not be returning nor would we recommend it to anyone.

Found this place on Unilocal.Decided to give it a try. We got there and we were blown away by the décor. We were greeted by a water effect wall. The bar was nicely lit with neon lights that complimented the red walls. Could be a great date spot, a cool place to grab a couple drinks or a place to get together with family. The food was great. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and yes, as other reviewers have said the dipping sauce was amazing. Main course of Thai pad paradise. Not your typical fast food thrown toge ther Thai pad. I actually woke up and ate the rest for breakfast. That being said. Price was right and you will come home with leftovers. Appatizer alone was a small meal. Deal for $ 20. Two apps two entrees. Byob as of June 8. 2015. Four stars only because I love tofu and I wasn’t thrilled with it here.

Food: i ordered the Lemon Grass Flank Steak. The steak strips were randomly cooked to my liking which is somewhat expected because it isn’t a «steakhouse». The seasoning was a bit too salty for my taste and could not taste any«lemon grass» flavor. Service & Décor: The place was well decorated and the staffs were super friendly. I would definitely come back to give other items on the menu another shot …

OH. MY. GOD. This is my go-to take out place. Can’t stop getting their chicken pad thai. Every bite is perfection. I need to stop writing this because all I can do is think about dialing their number. Hah! But, really — their food is amazing, service is great, and the atmosphere is so relaxing/calming. Their bar has a huge tropical aquarium. NOMNOMNOM

Everything was underwhelming and salty. The salad was over-dressed and wilty. The cracklin’ calamari were cooked properly but had too much excess oil. The soups were salty. The five spice grilled chicken I ordered was salty to the point of being inedible. I was talked out of sending it back to the kitchen. The red curry duck dish was the only one that has any actual heat to it and was tasty. The final straw was the crème brûlée that was ordered was served hot. To the point where the custard was runny. It looked like it was of the frozen Bindi variety and so they most likely were trying to thaw it by heating it up. It was sent back to the kitchen and removed from the bill. I suspect a lot of the things served were from frozen but I’m only sure of the dessert. All I can say is that I’m glad we had a LivingSocial deal to take the edge off the price point which is way too high for the quality of food. Service was lack luster and spotty. Décor is pretty with the inherited fish tank behind the bar and floor to ceiling waterfall. They get the 1 star for the bubble tea which was the highlight of my meal. I got the milk tea with the lychee jelly. The jelly was in longer strips which was kind of annoying — small cubes would have been better.

My boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday here. Oh my goodness. First of all, the décor is beautiful and tasteful. The setup with multiple levels of seating was really cool too. And I loved that there was a tv showing the Food Network. Then there’s the food. We each had a chicken coconut soup, which is one of my favorites at any Thai restaurant, but it was really special here. The chicken was tender and the broth wasn’t too sweet. Perfect. The roti canai(bread with chicken curry dipping sauce) was unbelievable. I wanted to eat three more. It was at least as good as the roti canai at Banana Leaf and Penang in Center City. I ordered a tropical cocktail and it was so good. I couldn’t taste the alcohol, but I knew it was in there! I had scallops as my entrée. They were just a tad chewy, probably because they were so large, but I still enjoyed them. The mild sauce they came in was very good. For dessert, we shared the Coconut Repieno(coconut sorbet in a coconut shell.) It was so light and flavorful. We both loved it. We look forward to returning to this restaurant and trying some more delicious dishes! PS — On Monday and Tuesday nights, you can get 2 entrees and 2 appetizers for $ 25! It was so much food and so tasty and so cheap!

What Aroi Thai has done with its building is breathtaking!!! We love the cinnabar walls and the multihued paper parasols suspended from the ceiling. Among the most visually arresting areas, however, is the bar. Behind the bar is huge fish tank with gorgeous day-glo fish. Totally mesmerizing. The bar itself is bathed in vibrant neon hues. A pretty rocking vibe for little Southampton. We have never been disappointed by the food or service here. Fav apps include the calamari(love the dipping sauce), the mushroom ravioli and the pan-fried dumplings. You cannot go wrong with any of those. As for entrees, the Pad Thai is world class. The ingredients are exquisitely fresh. The sauce was not too sweet(as are some versions). We also loved the Thai fried rice and the pad kra pao(basil). The service has been consistently attentive and efficient. For a diversion from the usual suburban offerings, Aroi Thai is worthy of your consideration.

Beautiful restaurant but the food was just A-OK. Would not drive out of my way unless it’s a special occasion to come here. Nothing really stood out for me. Let’s start from the beginning. Started off with the papaya salad, calamari, and roti cani. Papaya salad was actually quite delicious. Make sure you do ask to make it extra spicy if you like spice. They are on the safer side unless you ask for it. The calamari was nice and crispy and the dipping sauce was good. A bit on the salty side. A dash of sugar would have balanced the dish since the calamari was already salty and you add in the salty dipping sauce, just pushed it overboard a bit but I did enjoy it. The roti cani was a favortie of mine as well. The pastry bread was nice and chewy and flaky all at the same time. Wished the curry was a bit spicier but the flavors were definitely there. Now onto the entrée. I got the Pineapple Duck which is supposed to be a crispy duck with fried spinach, grilled pineapple, chinese eggplant, and mushrooms in a worcestershire pineapple sauce. What I got was a not so crispy duck due to the overwhelming amount of fat and completely overcooked making the duck dry with not enough pineapple sauce to counter the dryness. I wouldn’t recommend this dish to anyone. I would recommend just sticking to the traditional thai curries and pad thai, which is what my lovely dining partners ended up getting and they seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. Well the vegetarian duck curry was a bit thicker than was prefered but that was the only complaint. The birthday girl got the Mango Chicken which I thought was overly sweet. She did not seem to enjoy it that much either. So you can cross it off your list of things to try unless you like things sweet. It’s either too salty or too sweet. They need to work on creating that balance and they’ll be bumped up to four stars in my book. The check in Unilocal offer gives you a free spring roll or ice cream. I told the other ladies about the offer and got them to download the Unilocal app. Hyped up Unilocal completely. When told the waiter, he said I think it’s only one check in offer per table. What?!? The offer did not state that. We told him just to get us one ice cream if it is only one per table. We thought he was going off to check but took all of our ice cream orders and off he went. Ice cream came and we all enjoyed it, but when the bill came, got charged for 3 of the 4 ice creams. May have been a miscommunication but we really didn’t need the ice cream and was not about to pay for ice cream that we really didn’t need. They did end up taking it off the bill but a little perturbed about the ordeal. The ladies will hopefully start Unilocaling now thanks to me and share their many experiences for everyone to enjoy.

First impressions — Warm, rich, dark red… umbrella-high ceilings, and Buddha smiling quietly… waiting on the Pad Thai. And, it gets better from there. A deep red glow accents the atmosphere in Aroi Thai & Asian Bistro. The service is timely, friendly, and efficient. The lunch menu was still in play although I walked in at 3:02. Only one other table occupied, and a couple at the bar. Snow starting to fall. It felt like a Dashell Hamett novel. First visit and I went for the Pad Thai. It was excellent! Hot, attractively presented with cool sprouts, and lime to bring out the tamarind and peanut undertones. Impressive portion for a lunch. Jasmin tea chaser. Wonderful lunch. Is it as «good as it gets?» I won’t know until I go back for more… soon. 10.27.13 — Returned for the fourth time last night and was again totally impressed with the atmosphere, service and cuisine. I have ordered off the menu and from the specials, and each dish has been unusually flavorful, interesting and satisfying. Last night I had Singapore Laksa Curry Noodle, a thick rich Coconut Curry Soup, loaded with a variety of shellfish, chicken, tofu, whole egg and veggies. The coconut curry was subtle, yet spicy enough to warrant some caution. I could not finish. At $ 12. I was pleased. Along with Jasmine Tea, I was a sated and happy man. I think 5 Stars is warranted for Aroi Thai & Asian Bistro. Aside from some amazing places I have visited in Bangkok and Pattaya, this is as good as I have had in the USA.
