I’m not a fan of donuts… I know, don’t kill me. I do come here for their bagels and cream cheese! My favorite because it’s a fat bagel with lots of cream cheese. For $ 2.50, hell yes! Whenever I go, it usually only takes like two minutes so it is perfect when I am running late for work. I have gotten their donuts and they are fresh! I like sugar donuts once in a while. Their prices can’t be beat!

Family owned by great people. Very friendly. Best part of the place and why I gave 4 stars is the drive thru window they have. Dont have to leave your car when getting doughnuts for the family on early morning weekends. Not bad coffee either for a doughnut shop!

Royal Pin Donuts are fresh out the fryer at 4am, I get it. But WHY then would you stack them in 1 tiny bag knowing that the glaze has yet to set? The chocolate from our selection is now smeared across the bag and has cross contaminated the non-chocolate donuts. I come fairly frequently and this is the first time I’ve had this issue; It also happens to be the first time I’ve ever seen the man who assisted me this morning. So I’m gonna chalk it up as a fluke. But annoying none the less to open up the bag and see such a mess. Their fun-sized donut holes are crispy on the outside with a soft, chewy interior, covered in a warm glaze. Great for sharing, or not :) We often pick up a few holiday themed sprinkles, to my toddler’s delight. Valentine’s Day is by far her favorite: they’re pink, red, and white with heart-shaped confetti; St Patrick’s Day: green shamrocks; Easter: pastels; 4th of July: Red, White, & Blue; Halloween: Black & Orange, sometimes with pumpkin confetti; Christmas is of course red and green with trees. They pour a mean cup of coffee, freshly brewed throughout the day. Walk into the shop if you want to see the full selection in the glass cases or drive around back and hit the drive thru window if you’re short on time.

Worst donut shop. Don’t be fooled with the name, very similar to the infamous Rolling pin donut shop. Avoid this place at all cost!

Love that it has a drive thru but the donuts are now mediocre. Love me my French crueller but eh over here. Even donut holes were ok too.

I have been coming here on a regular basis since 2002; I have always had GREAT donuts from this place, consistently, until this past weekend. I always get the raised donuts: glaze, chocolate, crumb & sugar. They used to be tall, sweet, delicious, nicely chewy and all around perfect. The glazes were always perfect and covered the donuts nicely. I don’t know what happened, but my last experience was nothing like this. I bought a half dozen and we didn’t even finish a whole donut; the rest were composted :(. The dough tasted different. They were not ‘raised’ tall like normal; these tasted slightly cakey and not right. and the glaze was awful, slightly melted and was smearing all over the place(inside bag, napkins on other donuts). I’m not sure if they changed the recipe, if the regular baker is on vacation, or if they changed the frying oil or what, but I likely won’t go back. I’ll be driving slightly further over to RP in San Bruno.

They charge an extra dollar for using a card. I wasn’t told until after the transaction. There definitely were no signs. They don’t have an ATM either, so bring cash. The place was kind of dingy, with no price signs or menus I could find. I got 8 donuts(5 different varieties); she stacked them all together in a small bag and they all got combined. Donuts are pretty easy to come by – I didn’t feel taken care of so I will skip next time.

Stopped by sunday around 4 pm. Lady behind the counter was rude and could hardly put the dounts in a bag. Didn’t ask if they were separate orders just assumed we were together. I don’t think I will be back.

Was out here on business for 10 days and came here as often as possible. Owner and his wife are super nice folks. And the donuts and egg croissant were always fresh and delicious. I may be biased when the only frame of reference I have for a donut is Krispy Kreme. But if I’m ever in the area I’ll definitely be back.

I’ve passed by this place numerous times but I rarely crave donuts but Sunday morning I was craving for some custard donuts really bad so I stopped by here. The parking lot is minimal, I think there’s more parking behind the building and they have street parking. The inside looked like the inside of a wooden lodge that you find in Lake Tahoe and it was a little dark inside. I read reviews of this place being family owned and it definitely is. One of their sons helped me out, he wasn’t enthusiastic about being there or helping me out but eh. I felt a little awkward being there since I was a little lost on what to get so I just aimlessly bought what I thought I needed: a dozen assorted donuts and donut holes, $ 12+. I forgot to get their filled donuts so I made a separate order for one maple custard filled donut and a powdered raspberry filled donut for my boyfriend, $ 4~. Overall customer service: 3⁄10. DONUTS: Out of the dozen, I only ate the sugar coated one since everyone here mentioned how good it was and it kind of was. A little fluffy and a little crispy on the outside: 7⁄10. Donut holes: sad that they weren’t what I expected them to be. They were really dense and hard to swallow, no fluff whatsoever: 1⁄10. I think I would only come back if my boyfriend came with me. I have really bad anxiety when it comes to me coming to new places by myself, that’s why I aimlessly bought too many donuts because I panicked. Sad that the donuts I bought on Sunday(it’s Wednesday now), are still sitting in my dining room but I’ll make good use of them.

Called for 2 dozen donuts which were perfectly packaged within 10 minutes. The service was great with friendly staff. However the donuts were average.

Royal Pin donuts. an OG donut spot! When we walked in and looked around it reminded me of my high school years when the cost of living was much cheaper! We didn’t try any of their sandwiches, but the donuts were off the hook! I didn’t even know they had a drive thru this whole time! Super cool folks that work here, she told us a couple of funny stories. Coming back to get my donut fix! There’s also parking in the back!

This is what a doughnut shop should be. I have yet to be disappointed by anything here. The doughnuts are great, the sandwiches are delicious, and the staff is friendly and helpful. There are customers who have been regulars here for forty years! You don’t get customer loyalty like that without a good product!

Great place to grab a donut or bagel and coffee on my way to work. They have a drive thru so it’s always fast and easy.

I remember when I had my first Royal Pin donut… I was in my first period class when suddenly my friend came in, drop off the donut, and walked out. When I looked down I just saw this sugary donut staring right at me and I dug right in. During class. Regardless of the jealous stares that were thrown my way because I got a donut. It was a really good donut and sometimes I’ll think about that donut and how it led me through life. However, on my most recent visit to Royal Pin… I was disappointed. It might have been because it was July 4th that there was no sugar donut, but I was really bummed not to see it. They bagels, muffins, and some other donuts, but no sugar donut. My cousin got one of their bagels filled with egg and some other stuff for $ 4.75 and I just got their banana nut muffin. She was satisfied with her purchase, I was not. The banana nut muffin was gummy tasting and the flavor just didn’t sit right with me. Service was friendly. The girl working was patient with us while we were trying to decide on what we wanted. Parking is easy since they have their own parking lot and a drive-thru if you don’t want to get out of your car. Overall, meh. Where’s the sugar donut of my dreams, yo?!

I love the convenience of this place. Open 24/7, with a drive-through window? Awesome. However, the donuts were lackluster to me. I got six assorted donuts for just under $ 10, including glazed, maple bar, crullers, and a fritter. Only the fritter was good. The rest tasted too doughy and bland to me. I wished they had a lighter, fluffier texture. Maybe I’ll give them another try in the future, but I’ll probably check out some other places first.

OHMYDONUT!!! This place is SO good. All these years I assumed this was just a regular donut shop. Have I been missing out. They even have a drive-thru window!!! Came in to fix my chocolate cravings. Lots of regulars, everybody knew everybody. I selected the chocolate twist. Looks, average. Consistency and taste, beyond average. Something about their dough, it’s sweet and light and fluffy. No dry donuts here. Will I be back? Think I’d like to buy a box and treat my new team at the new company :) Will I be back? Don’t got to ask me twice. JABAAPPROVED. Until the next review.

Sorry fellow Unilocaler’s, I’m just not feeling this place. When I came there was very little to choose from so I settled on a mini crumb Donut and a dozen Donut holes for just over $ 5 which is quite a lot really. The crumb Donut( ) was fine, not great by any means but then not terrible either, it could just be a lot better. I’ve had better Donuts at the local Safeway of all places. The Donut holes( ) didn’t impress me or my husband, they were so greasy and tasted foul. Most of them ended up in the trash because we just couldn’t force ourselves to eat them. They also serve Coffee and Bagel’s ect with a decent amount of indoor seating.
