The name of this place has changed to La Hacienda Market. I believe the ownership is much better. The faults of this place is that a lot of there produce is not that great. If you want better produce then it is better to go down to Chavarrias Market where it is more fresh. The great thing about this place is it’s meats they are very fresh and good. Other then that I have noticed some prices have gone up a little bit since the last owner.

I think they changed the name of this place to La Hacienda Market. They have the best FLANCHOCOCAKE ever! I never knew such thing existed and now I’m in love. It is the most delicious sweet combo creation ever – custard pudding like texture with a mix of moist brownie bite. I am drooling while typing about this. *lol* Also, they have some carnitas(shredded pork meat) in the meat department that’s already made that you can buy by the pound. It’s been helpful for me when I’ve been too lazy to prep and cook my own meat to make a Mexican food dish. I never even knew such grocery market existed so close to my house. Now, I don’t have to drive all the way to the crappy small Safeway on Chestnut just to get basic grocery items. Loving this neighborhood gem!

THISPLACEISGREAT! To me the prices are reasonable. What I love about this Latino market. LOTS of selection of brand name foods. GOOD produce. Weekly price specials on food and produce. Big and spacious building. Friendly service. Bilingual workers. One stop shop.(Don’t know about their meat department, haven’t tried yet.) Did I mention great prices? Even on the brand name items. Lots of pinatas and good selection of beer.
What I’m not crazy about…
Comes with the territory but to the females out there, when you come don’t be surprised if the local(Latino men) patrons hoot, whistle, holler or stare at you. I know… its annoying and disrespectful. And gross too! I’m Mexican and I can say with all honesty that some of my people are passing this ugly, disgusting habit on from one male generation to the next. UGH! Bring your ipod with headphones. Nice beer selection but could we see a little more wine please? Yeah, yeah… Latinos love beer, but some more selection of wines instead of a selection of few bottles would be nice too. Good find for anyone tired of the chain supermarkets and also a good way to put your money back to local businesses.

This is a nice-sized market. It’s good if you need Mexican bread and they have alot of canned foods and basics, produce, fruit. The fruit and produce I buy elsewhere b/c i like a big variety and want them super fresh and sometimes i don’t see the best and freshest here or they don’t include alot of Asian stuff, being it’s catered to the Latinos. I’ve purchased meat from here before and I thought it wasn’t too fresh.
