I usually have really good experiences at the Peet’s that I go to and I came to this store for the first time because of the high ratings(big mistake). I have never had any issues with any of the baristas from the various Peet’s I go to. However, my trip to this place has been horrible. They took forever to make my drink. They don’t call out your name when it’s ready, even though they ask for it when you order and pay. They don’t even call the name of your drink properly when it’s ready. I ordered a dark chocolate almond mocha, and when my drink was ready, they called it an almond mocha. I had to ask the barista if it was the right order. My first sip of my drink tasted bland. I went back to the barista to ask them to remake my drink, and one of the baristas gave me an annoyed look. They also took forever just to remake my drink. Even then, they still didn’t get my drink right. It literally tasted like a burnt version of Silk’s chocolate soy milk. I couldn’t stand the taste but I didn’t want to receive any more dirty looks, so I didn’t even bother to ask them to remake it. If I was going to spend $ 5 on my Peet’s drink here, I would have just bought soy milk at a grocery store(it would have been cheaper and better tasting). Someone seriously needs to properly train the baristas here, since I’m not sure they know what they’re doing.

Had a pumpkin latte and gingerbread latte at this location. Unlike other Peet’s locations, this one tastes like water. Both lattes lacked expresso and syrup.

I like this Peet’s. Good coffee with wifi, and lots of open tables. I sat at the very last table by the windows which had a power outlet.bonus. The a/c was on pretty high so if you get cold easily like me, bring a jacket or scarf, or both! Coffee: Great(no «liquid cream crack» like at Philz — some people like that; I prefer my coffee black). Wifi: Great(not that it was crowded nor was I streaming much besides SoundCloud and the occassional Facebook video). Parking: Metered. Unless you park a couple blocks away in the residential areas, which are free. Noise: It’s nice and quiet inside. Not crowded, yay. It’s a loud and busy intersection so you cant get a quiet phone conversation outside.(I prefer uncrowded spots, not the distracting hustle and bustle of many other popular coffee shops) Service: Great! When I asked for a Mint Green Tea, the woman said they didnt have any, but that she could mix a Mint tea with a Green tea(two tea bags). I was so grateful she was able to think and deliver on that one! Bonus: Many eateries are closeby on Grand Ave. Great place to cool off real quick if it’s hot outside. Nice and quiet, away feom distractions.

This place smells like urine and loneliness. You bring your worst friends here or an employee your about to fire. Fix what’s broken here folks because this Petes is the worst in the Bay Area.

Parking definitely is a negative. Luckily I went on a Sunday. The A/C was on way too much and the place was actually uncomfortably cold. Otherwise, a decent amount of seating. I might swing by again, if I can risk being frozen again.

I rely on this place when we run outta coffee at my moms. This place has been here for yrs, and today I got the best service. The cashier was genuinely friendly and efficient. I hope they keep that going. The reality is that they are the only Peets on this side of town. It’s just so nice to have pleasant service when you need to fuel up. We are all such vulnerable creatures before our cherished morning cup of coffee. Come on SSF Peets! Give us a nice cradle before you give us our formula. It’ll most definitely clean up these Unilocal

Great coffee and food. Plenty of space to work and hang out. There are outlets if you want to use a laptop or need to charge your phone. Staff is friendly and young. At times, it feels like they treat the place like their living room i.e. loud conversations among themselves, open celebrations and teaching sessions. I personally find it funny but can see people getting annoyed/wanting to concentrate.

You’d think it’s convenient because it’s on the corner but. It’s really not. If you get there during the AM rush then, you gotta park, then have coins ready, then in line with the baristas. At least the line is not crazy long like s-bux. And the taste is definitely better.

This is probably the worst Peet’s coffee shop I’ve been to. The speed of service is very slow, and no one seemed to know what they were doing. Quite frankly I think 17 minutes from the initial point of contact to delivery of drink is ridiculous. It got so bad that I noticed they decided to shut the bar down and only do drip coffee, not«special made drinks» news flash, if it’s on your menu it’s not special. This store is way below Peet’s standards. Alfred Peet is rolling in his grave.

I consider myself a Peet’s fan and I drink Peet’s Coffee at Temesclal Plaza in Oakland, in SF Bush St. Van Ness, Third St Forth St, Potrero /16th St. Millbrae on Broadway. The one in South SF is run badly. Once I told the manager I need sugar his response was sorry we are out of it and today the Bartissta did not show up and the person was not able to make me my drink. Shame on you Peet’s

I think that the 10 people standing outside would agree with me at 540am that the rude damneder the smug employees presented this morning was deplorable. Don’t piss off the patiently waiting customers that have not had there coffee. When I knocked on the window to remind them they were 10 minutes late opening after getting the attention of the guy playing with his phone, I was greeted with the two min sign. I will no longer visit this branch as I have heard from others this is a recurring problem.

Very slow service. 6 people in line… 15+ minutes to get coffee. Who do they think they are? They’re just interested in yapping behind the register.

The coffee is great and most of the staff is wonderful. What i’ve noticed is that the leaderhip staff is more interested in bossing the other team-members around, rather than actual customer service. If there’s a long line and the condiment station is messy, don’t ask a cashier or barrista to stop what their doing to go clean it, take the rage and do it yourself. And please stop belittling your team-members in front of the customers, we don’t want to know that there is strife in the store!

Coffee shops are always perfect meeting or study places. I like this location since it’s closer. It’s a bummer that they close early at 7 pm. Not a coffee person. I go for hot chocolate or chai latte. Both are good at Peet’s.

When visiting my bro, my fellow Peetsnik, in SSF, we simply MUST stop by here at the local Peets before I head back out on the fwy. Super easy on and off the 101. You might need to circle a bit for free parking, but it’s worth it. Nice and comfy interior seating. Remember, PEETS doesn’t burn their beans like Starbucks does.

Came to this area for lunch and after pulling a late night, needed a caffeine hit before leaving, so I came to Peet’s. I am not a big coffee person so I needed the terms explained to me. This wouldn’t be an issue but the girl who took my order was less than gracious when I asked her to explain it. This is your job. After a long night, I don’t need to deal with a snotty cashier who thinks it is below her to explain the menu items to customers. Not only that, when she double checked our order, she made a mistake reading off the screen and when I questioned it, she stomped her feet like a petulant child and looked at her coworkers as if I was troubling her. Let me repeat something, this is your job. The drinks came out fast, but with that type of attitude, I won’t be back anytime soon. Lastly, don’t know if she was being a b**** or if it really is a policy, but you aren’t allowed to photograph the menu without buying a certain amount of coffee. Uh, OK.

I was very reluctant to try any coffee outside of Dunkin Donuts & Starbucks. But while on vacation in beautiful San Fran, I decided to venture out of my comfort zone. Unilocal reviews weren’t the greatest on this location but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt because I’m a sucker for Unilocal coupons: D. I got a $ 1 off my $ 4.15 iced coconut macadamia nut latte. Sweet baby Jesus, it was DELICIOUS! Five mins later I was regretful that I didn’t indulge in a larger size.

Beware the meter maid Nazi’s that patrol this area! Came here for a latte, and I had 15 minutes on the meter… and ran out to a ticket since it took more than 15 minutes to get my to go drink. I didn’t know it would take that long, and furthermore I didn’t know that 2 minutes could make all the difference. You know I’m normally a Starbucks fan, but they had a $ 1.00 off any drink that I couldn’t resist. But, it wasn’t worth the ticket.

GOODSTRONGCOFFEE — GREATSERVICE Too bad Peet’s Coffee is not everywhere like Starbucks but with that said — I’ve been to this location of Peet’s several times now and the service just gets better and better. Everyone that works here are always so nice and always so very helpful. It is good to know that a smile goes a long way. I have always preferred Peet’s Coffee over Starbucks mainly because they really have good strong coffee. Plus, I feel their roasted beans just taste much more premium comparing it to Starbucks. I always buy their MAJORDICKINSON which I believe to be one of their best coffee. It’s just a personal preference and I don’t speak for all. But sometimes the convenience of having thousands of Starbucks everywhere even in Asia — it’s just unbeatable — «just saying!» This South San Francisco location also has a lot of seating space and the arrangement is not too close to each other so you can have a comfortable conversation and you don’t have to yell across the room! It is well lit and has a cool low profile vibe to its ambiance. Most of the regulars here come in with their power suits so I’m guessing they probably work nearby. Foot traffic is consistent here and from what I’ve observed — their door opened about every 3 – 6 minutes during peak time. Not too shabby! Maybe their central location just off the 101 South highway — exit Grand Ave keeps the ongoing to go foot traffic consistent. If you are looking for a coffee house that has a cool vibe with great customer service time and time again — come by and visit Peet’s Coffee & Tea at their South San Francisco location. You will be provided with a service with a smile!
