Luigi’s Sandwich Palace

i work in the area, but don’t frequent this place often. with choices ranging between fast foods, darby dan’s, little lucca, and tanforan, I tend to go for what’s quickest, or where someones going to… this time I went solo, got a tri-​tip sandwich w/​provolone (can’t get that wrong), comes with potato salad. got a Snapple, and being day before payday, I paid cash, BUT found out I was .65c short. I let him know and walked back to put the Snapple back. cashier (owner?) asked how much I was short, he asked for my last dollar, then said go ahead, it’s ok… go get the drink… you don’t usually see that for more than .25c, but that alone shows he cares for the customer experience. all aside, the sandwich was BOMB. and with all the choices they have to choose from? I will definitely be going back to this place more often…

Located just a small walk from the Verily (Alphabet, Inc.) campus (formerly Onyx), and within a 1 – 2 mile-​drive from the South San Francisco hotels and Bio-​Tech Companies, Luigi’s Sandwich Palace has it all for non-​California prices! Can you believe it? A deli /​grill which makes excellent custom large sandwiches on the fly for less than $ 12?
Now if you’re expecting a mobile app, or places to plug in your mobile device — stop, and stop being so tech addicted, it’s very bad for your health!
This is not the next Silicon Valley trend, this is a lasting legend. I don’t know if the everything is organic, or if all of the diet sodas have NutraSweet, but that is for you to be aware of. Now that I’ve stepped over the Bay Area Millennial Red Tape Concerns, this is not a 21^st-​Century sandwich place or «palace», but a sandwich place for any day.

Amazing food!
I ordered the CA club on sourdough toast. Looking at the description on the wall, I did not know what I was in for. Though as she was making my sandwich, I for a moment thought she was making two sandwiches.
Then bam, she smacked them together and this sandwich was HUGE. It was loaded with turkey, avocado, bacon, BACON again then stuffed with all the veggies which were very fresh. Some nice romain lettuce which was so green.
She asked me if I wanted the garlic sauce and I just said yes. Then I forgot about it, and a few bites in I was like whoa, garlic! Their garlic sauce is very nice.
I ordered the sandwich and some chips, with the bill coming in at $ 10.xx which for what it was is a great deal I think. If I wasn’t alone, I could have easily split the meal with someone else. Now I’m stuffed, and did not get a drink. Add in a drink and I’d be bloated!
On my wish list is some Dutch crunch rolls as an option, and I think the restroom needs a cleaning and a fresh coat of paint.

The selection is solid. Service is fast. No frills. Food quality is worth it for the price.

Good sandwiches, friendly staff, good prices.
Not saying you should drive here just to have lunch, if you are in the area though you will find a nice, quick, inexpensive lunch.

Generic sandwiches. Not bad. For a quick lunch, this is your place. You can also walk out to the Bay Trail for a pleasant view (maybe windy and cold) while you eat.

For the fourth time I’ve come here for something off the grill and it’s closed. The grill is supposed to be open until 2:00 and I have never been able to get anything! they are always cleaning it up 30 minutes before 2:00 and the business is opened until 3:30 what up with that! So I have had to settle for a deli sandwich which are decent but had my chops set on a burger so it’s a fail! I have been in there close to three and the deli counter staff is cleaning up also, not very appetizing, but I guess its their MO. Too bad since they are right down the block from where I work,

Been going to this place for years. Lina the owner always been nasty to costumers (friends warned me about her) for most part I was going there Because its next door to my office and husband is pretty cool guy and ALWAYS TOOk care of me. Last Friday I went here to get a salad, Lina start giving me and her husband attitude why I am taking salad if they close at 2pm and its 230. I told her she can keep th salad and left. LINA IS A REAL B&$TCH. We have 4 guys they usually go there from out office. None of them will be there again, including me

Best sandwich spot in the area. …and where I’m from, sandwiches are a staple. This place is legit.
Go for the salmon steak sandwich. It’s warm and super delicious!

Awesome little sandwich shop. Extremely convenient for those staying/​working near the airport or hotels north of the airport. Sandwiches are well priced and include a side salad. Not limited to just sandwiches either – there’s a breakfast menu, grill menu, wraps menu, and a soup/​salad bar. Taft is extremely friendly and have a treat-​customers-​like-​family vibe. Highly frequented by the local workers. Nice find for a business traveler traveling via SFO!

Great sandwiches! I love the garlic/​pesto and garlic/​jalapeño spread! It’s always a treat to stop by and order one of their delicious sandwiches. The bread (I order the Dutch crunch) is always fresh as are all other ingredients.

I love this place! It was my first time coming here and the service is fast and the food is just mouth watering!

We pick up a sandwich here twice or three times a week. The sandwiches are amazing! The California grilled chicken is just perfect. The staff is really friendly and another good reason to go back! It’s really affordable as well.

Had it for the first time yesterday although I’ve been working around the area for almost 2 years now. I had their Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, generous portion, tasty and reasonable (I just don’t like having tomatoes on my Philly cheesesteak)
Staff was a little bit cranky that day probably because they got a lot of telephone orders. I would definitely come back and try each and very sandwiches they got. Good job Luigi’s Sandwich Palace!!!

This sandwich place is excellent. I’ve had a few of their sandwiches and have not been let down: the California chicken– excellent, burgers– good, ham and cheese– good, California club– Delish, their BLT– so much bacon.
What makes them do good? The ingredients! Whole leaf lettuce, fresh tomatoes and onions, that garlic spread of theirs– wow!
Oh and they offer a small Mac or potato salad per sandwich. I always get the Mac and wish they offered more.
There is another sandwich shop near by but they are not as good as Luigi’s

This sandwich spot is a hidden gem! It’s offer an sit down eatery, located out of nowhere in SSF, only workers nearby would knows it.
Their sandwich is always fresh and they use real slice deli meats. I think the sandwich is proportional and they put enough meats to vegetable ratio.
I normally get the Turkey and Avocado on Soft Sweet. Yes that have Garlic/​Pesta and Jalapeño spread which overall makes the sandwich pop!
I love how they give you a Mac or Potatoes salad with your meal.
They also have hot food and can make burgers as well.
I’ve been here over a dozen times and their sandwich is pretty consistent, i’m a fan of this spot!
