Floor Stone Depot is a great find. Good selection, friendly staff and the place is clean! It’s not dusty or dirty. Their pricing is also very fair. The sale items’ pricing are the ones to look for. They can also recommend a cutter and installer. The cutter bullnosed our counter top and did a spectacular job. Big bonus for Floor Stone Deport — easy to find parking!!!

FSD has everything I want and their huge store has a great layout. It’s easy to see all their merchandise and to spot the variances in quality and price. You get what you pay for, and it’s a great store to have all the choices right there in front of you. ALSO they have tons of easy parking — right in front of the store — very nice access compared to several other sellers without! Thanks FSD. Cw

Stopped by the Floor Stone Depot today to pick up a few unglazed ceramic tiles. Taking the K or T lines inbound drops you off conveniently 2 blocks away from the warehouse. Nice. The place is huge and is stocked wall-to-wall with tiles of all different shapes, sizes and mineralz. The prices are extremely fair, compared to the other floor and tile shops I did some research at in the city. Spoke with Will and he gave me a quick rundown and tour of the place, and when I finally came up to the register with my loot, he kindly gave me a generous discount if I promised to pass along to others about my time @ the depot. Done.

I did a small home remodeling project several months ago involving laying about 25 sq. feet of ceramic tile in my back entryway. The folks at Floor Stone Depot were very helpful with advice and putting together all the tiles and tools I would need to do the job. They gladly refunded any unused items I had and walked me through the process from start to end. Let me tell you, the people who lay tile for a living definitely earn their money. I cut my own tile, did the subflooring and grouting and am happy with my work but would think twice about doing it again myself. My advice would be to hire a professional who can get the job done in a fraction of the time and already has the equipment and tools to do so unless you’re like me and are up for the challenge. Based on estimates, my cost of doing it on my own was probably close to had I just hired someone to do it. After reading another review on this place, I’d say it’s probably a good idea to do an internet search on what you want to do so when you go here, you are somewhat prepared to carry a conversation on a subject these folks are experts on. I found the cheaper tiles in the back. The ones up front are expensive and have to be ordered. The ones in the back are plenty and there’s a large selection of sizes, colors and patterns.

This is a large purveyor of tile and granite countertops. They have a limited selection of bathroom/kitchen fixtures but best to bypass those here. It’s true that the staff are not that helpful, but this is a large warehouse store – it’s not floor craft. This is not the place to go if you need hand holding or someone to help you in design. As such the prices are much, much better and if you do go up to the counter to ask a question, my experience as always been that the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The staff all seem fluent in English. ANDYES it’s important that staff speak English(or you speak Cantonese). As you will find with the large number of Chinese stone and tile places, the staff are not able to communicate in English. This IS important when you are buying something large, requiring measurements and detail that needs to be communicated carefully. The stock is very extensive, the prices are much lower than the higher end places and only slightly higher than the Chinese bargain purveyors but with a much larger selection. Orders in my experience take 7 – 10 days. They always got my orders correct and they arrived on time.

I was looking for some hard to find tiles for our master bathroom(subway tile end pieces with the short end finished) and this was the only place I could find them. The sales person was extremely helpful and even took back the unopened boxes I had left over. I’m heading over there in just a minute to pick up some floor tiles for our guest bathroom and expect to find just what I’m looking for … Price-wise, they easily compare to other tiles stores even though their selection is much more extensive.

This place is good. I fell in love with an unglazed black hex tile at Walker Zanger. I found the exact tile at Floor Stone Depot for less than half the price. To make it even better, the salespeople are awfully nice and easy to order from.

Despite the bad reviews on the service at this store… I went there today. The selection was terrific and the service was great. I will definitely go there again when I remodel my kitchen.

I recently remodeled our entire house. I would recommend Floor Stone Depot without reserve. Helpful staff & good prices. They never blinked when I needed to special order, ask dumb questions or return something. I had nothing but great experiences with them, and I bought a lot from them over the course of 2 –3 years. Check them out when you need to remodel.

Alright, first and foremost, I’ll admit I’m a DIY virgin, so having the daunting task of going to source tile was challenging in itself. Once you arrive to this place, you are immediately hit with wall to wall tiles and flooring. There aren’t a lot of people there(I did go around 10am) and definitely not a lot of staff. None-the-less, I ventured up to the counter and asked for some assistance and got it in less than a minute. A young Asian fellow named Bill helped me out and got me oriented to the store and what my choices were. Skeptical at first glance, but he was a great help. This is a no nonsense place meaning you should do your research on the web before you get here, but once there, they seem to be pretty good at helping you find what you need. I came away with some samples and offer for additional assistance. Great place. I’m going to go back tomorrow and pick up my tiles. Definitely worth a return visit.

Emblazoned over the front door is a sign saying, «Public Welcome», but I felt about as welcome as a skunk at a picnic. The reason to even bother with this place is they have a pretty good selection of flooring material, and if you are a self-service kind of person, you’ll make out just fine. But wo betide the poor soul who needs assistance of any kind, as the mere hint of uncertainty or vulnerability is like catnip in arousing the churlish contempt of the cashier(there is no one to help here).

First, the good: They’ve got just about everything, and plenty of it. I wish I’d known about this place when we were looking for our bathroom and kitchen tile. A much better selection than Floorcraft, and the largest collection of low– and mid-range tile I’ve found in the Bay Area. Lots of stuff is in stock and ready to take home. Bad: There’s nobody to help you, and you’d better know what you want going in. I asked the woman at the cash area where to find the cork tiles and she literally GRUNTED at me and pointed. Couldn’t be arsed to say«in that niche over there, behind the stacks» or even«over there». There also aren’t any brochures explaining products or salespeople to help you learn the differences between one brand or another, answer questions about delivery times, or anything else. A bit TOO self-serve for my taste. They also don’t have any info on their web site other than a map and address — would opening hours be too much to ask?
