Good basic buffet experience. Clean, not too loud, and your usual oily buffet food.

Came here for the first time and was expecting decent food for such a low price. Came in and saw the restaurant looked very clean and no odor was present. The downside– All the staff are on their phones 24⁄7 not paying attention to their guests. Bathrooms are absolutely atrocious. Most importantly the food was not hot at all(when it should’ve been). Looks like everything is just reheated. Similar to other reviews the cooks are just sitting down on the phones. At least go to the back and hide where we can’t see you! As a waiter this was horrible customer service as a whole. The upside– Lots of food choices, lots of seafood and desserts. Seats are comfy, clean and not smelly. Loved the cake! That’s about it. In conclusion, I’ll give 2 stars only due to the pricing, variety of choices and because my sister likes this place, unfortunately for them I do not and will not return.

I’ll be honest. This is not a five star buffet. But that’s okay — I’m looking for a comfortable experience, not a gourmet one. The servers are fairly grumpy(except for one exceptionally friendly waiter), and the food can be greasy. BUT they have a chocolate fondue fountain and some extremely delicious crab, and that is by far worth the price($ 17 for dinner).

I recently came here for a graduation dinner. I had found out where we were going to eat, so naturally I looked it up on Unilocal and seeing all the negative reviews made me really dread going to the dinner. Fast forward to the graduation dinner, I arrive to the restaurant and it’s surprisingly pretty full. Still wary of all the reviews, I ate about two plates or so… and you know what? I felt fine. I didn’t die(lol). Admittedly yes, some parts of the restaurant smelled like wet dog and apparently the bathroom was pretty gross but the food itself wasn’t too bad. I didn’t eat too much but my favorites were the sesame balls, the mongolian beef, and the broccoli. From what I can remember though, there was a lot of selection of desserts, sushi, veggies, etc. etc. Would I come here again? Probably not, if I had the choice but at least now I know it isn’t as bad as Unilocal makes it out to be.

If it was possible to give — infinity stars and tear this place down my damn self. I would. My family and I just sat down to eat when my sister comes across something that’s not calamari on her plate. These people had cigarette butts in the food! They may have changed the name to King Sun but still have the shitty service and food as Beijing. I will be sure to report this place to the health department. I have never in my life came across such a disgusting and vile restaurant. The lady at the front desk had the audacity to accuse us of trying to get a ‘free’ meal and threatened to call the police. Call the popo cause you got me all thee way. let me just say she’s lucky it’s a sunday! If you love your life do yourself a favor. Never step foot into this restaurant. Unless you like eating cigarette butts, hair and all that crap along with your ‘food.’

We literally just finished eating here. This place has so much potential. The flavors of their food is right but the the freshness and quality isn’t just there. So, we came from the airport and I was searching for a restaurant nearby that have oysters. There were a few Japanese restaurants nearby, but my husband is not in the mood for it. I came by this restaurant and since we’re both hungry, why not a Chinese buffet. So, we drove here. Going inside, the area is huge and the customer capacity is large. But, there were only maybe 3 to 5 tables with customers. The place doesn’t look inviting. It looks old and has no background music. No feel good ambiance. I didn’t let myself feel bad about the bad ambiance and just looked forward for their food. We were seated immediately. The«seat planner”/maybe manager gave us the farthest table from the buffet even though there were a lot of empty tables near the buffet.(Obviously, we could’ve just requested to be transferred) But, we’re okay with that. He’s probably just dividing the customers for the servers and/or maybe there is some feng shui thing happening that he has to follow. Our server is okay, he seemed shy and used his phone a lot in his hiding place. Lol. He did his job well though. Filled our drinks, cleared our table etc. All good Now, for the food. I liked all the vegetables. They were al dente, and not overcooked. I recommend the broccoli in broccoli beef. They were really good. And the stir fried green beans. I loved that they have a variety of shell fish I can choose from. They have baked mussels, clams, scallops, and crab legs. My favorite was the clams. The flavor is fresh. Next is the mussels, then scallops. The mussels was just regular, which is okay. It’s fresh and not overly done. The scallops were served with a mayonnaise based dressing. The taste is acceptable. Then here comes the crab legs. Crabs are one of my favorite food in the world. I grew up devouring crabs. So, you can just imagine my disappointment with their crab legs. I filled one of my plates with probably 10 pieces of crab legs. They were served cold which is okay, but I would’ve preferred them hot and freshly steamed. I cracked my first leg, and it did not taste great. Cracked my second leg, and it tasted like water. I couldn’t even swallow it that I had to throw it up in a napkin. Again, I didn’t lose hope and I cracked all my crab legs and tasted each of them to see if any of them was edible. And whaddyaknow, out of 10 crab legs there was only 1 leg that tasted right. I almost cried. I was never a picky eater, even though I’m a graduate chef. And I really hate wasting any food, but those crab legs are inedible or maybe injected with water or something. Because it was really awful. Okay, enough with the crab legs. I also tried their deep fried shrimp and octopus. I’ll just say. Don’t get anything deep fried. They were cold and crunch-LESS. My husband tried their breaded shrimp and deep fried swordfish. He said they were okay. But I don’t really trust my husband tastebuds since he’s okay with anything breaded and deep fried. Oh, the steamed fish was okay. And I enjoyed their shark fin’s soup. The best food I’ve tasted was the clams and shark fin’s soup. For the desserts. The coconut macaroons was not baked fresh. I am assuming that they have been sitting out there for hours or so. They have one of those cookies that has some kind of a sliced nut(a cashew maybe) in the middle. That was light and good. The sesame balls was my favorite. It’s bite sized and the filling is perfect. The deep fried sweet buns was also good. They were several fruit selections(oranges, peaches, pineapples, kiwi, watermelon etc…) most of them came from cans. I’m sure of it. The ones that didn’t, looked pale and thirsty for a fruit. So, better think twice before getting any of them. I wish they have ice cream or some mochi balls. After paying our bill, we headed to the exit where the«seat planner» and one other manager-looking front desk guy was. They didn’t even say goodbye or the typical«have a good night» or something. They looked scary. Like a gangster scary. Lol Overall experience: *$ 34.86 inc tax for 2 pax With all the food selection available, the price is pretty cheap. But among all those food selection that didn’t taste good, I kinda want my money back. *Don’t get the crab legs(you know better now) *Don’t get anything fried, unless they have just refilled it with newly fried ones. *Do get their veggies, sesame balls, and shark fin’s soup *Do Get the baked mussels and clams(but make sure that they’re fresh) I wish that they’ll try to bring this place to life. With all the space they have, and the potential in their food. I know that they can do better. Additional comment: In case the owner is reading this, you guys better assign someone to clean the restrooms every hour or so. Ohgahhhhd.

It has been 45 min since leaving the buffet and I still want to choke my husband out for having us eat at the establishment($ 95 for party of 4). Nothing is freshly prepared or cooked. You know it’s a bad sign when the Mongolian bbq cook is squatting & looking at his smartphone. Slimy film on Jell-o(how can you f*ck up, Jell-o?); hot & sour soup was so thick it was like spooning goop; shriveled meat, seafood, & desserts from sitting out too long; and the kiwis — my gawd, they sliced the SUPERhard kiwis with the stickers still left on the outer skins. I mean, why bother with presentation when you know your food blows, right?(The pics featured are BS. Who goes to such a buffet and manages to slap on nicely plated dishes for pics by ‘patrons’?) Only thing I am appreciative about is my family’s patience as they stand in line waiting for the bathroom to free up until I’m done. BTW, the buffet is connected to a hotel that was featured on a tv show. Something about trying to remodel the hotel to improve business, but it was a huge FAIL — just like the buffet.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive, low-quality buffet, then here you go. All I can say is you get what you pay for. When our family met up at the restaurant. we were so confused as to if it was even the right place. It’s located in the industrial side of South San Francisco and is right next to a hotel. The place looks run-down, and the parking spaces say«Beijing Buffet» when the new signs in the restaurant say«King’s Buffet» or something similar to that. Absolutely dreadful. The fish is typically overdone, most of the food looks ridiculously fried or inedible. To be honest, the food looks like it’s just been sitting there for hours. probably because there isn’t a ton of circulation going through the food but everything obviously doesn’t look fresh. Oh, and I wouldn’t even touch the sushi or sashimi if I were you. unless you need a reason to call in sick for the day. All I could get myself to eat while I was here was the fruit and a little bit of the vegetables that I could pick out. I tried to go with fish or chicken, but they were just way too overdone and unenjoyable. My dad enjoys going here, probably for the price of a buffet, but every time he suggests we go there as a group, we always opt out and try to find something better. There are way better options in the area like Moonstar or Kome. I suggest you try those places as opposed to Bejing Buffet.

A buffet with generic tasting Chinese food and where their American food options taste better than the Chinese ones. Also, the current name is King Sun Buffet. Chinese buffets aren’t for me usually because they’re usually just«meh». The serving stations aren’t very clean and the plates and silverware often had food stuck to it. Most of the food options are greasy, full of MSG and average in taste so if you love good Chinese food, don’t come here. The french fries and sugar donuts were my favorite options there. The buffet has a section for Chinese food, a noodle bar, dessert and a sushi section. They do serve a lot of seafood(mussels, different fishes, clams, calamari, fresh chilled shrimp and crab legs) so that’s a plus. They also serve sashimi in the sushi section but be warned, the fish doesn’t look high grade and looks like it can be the one food item that will give you food poisoning if you’re not careful. Be warned: if you come here to fill up on mediocre Chinese food, get ready for nasty food coma from all that MSG.

First of all, the restaurant’s name is not Beijing. It is called king san. Took me a while to find it. It is still next to south san fran conference center. In case i am reviewing on the wrong restaurant, this is the review for king san. Apparently, it is the same restaurant, just under a different name. First of all, the ambiance is busy with old décor. Food items were ok, they seem to love those black bean paste. We were not impressed. Service was lacking at 3pm on a Sunday. To me, their presentations of food choices were sloppy, some of them were even messy. It is safe to say i will not come back, even if someone pays me to do so. I hope we don’t get tummy aches. The price was steep for such not-good eat.

God in heaven, why? Is this where cooks go to die? Over-cooked, over-worked, under-whelming and sad. Don’t bother. Buffets are rarely with it — and this is yet another example of why.

Be aware — Beijing Buffet is now King Sun buffet, but still under the same crappy management team! Recognize those people? So why the name change? Maybe too many bad reviews from Unilocal; go figure. If there was another buffet restaurant close-by with similar kind of food, some parking spaces, but not the shitty customer service — then this place would probably have no business!

We decided to come here for the last day of our vacation before heading back to SD. When we got in, the place was not busy at all and there were empty tables everywhere. We got placed in a table where there was already another family and they shooed them out. Are you kidding me? The food was extremely salty. I couldn’t eat anything without tasting like I downed the ocean or something. The food was generally inedible. Cheap prices cheap food I guess. I’ve been to other buffets but this was unacceptable. And then there was the soft serve ice cream. The chocolate was sour? Like I’m sure chocolate is supposed to be sweet but this was extremely sour. We told one of the waitresses and she just added more mix into the machine. The chocolate is SOUR! Adding more chocolate isn’t going to fix the taste of the chocolate. Clean the damn machine! Don’t think we’ll be coming back. Seriously, look for another place.

A typical, inexpensive, bang for your buck Chinese buffet. Beijing Buffet is one of the top choices for my family whenever we have a celebration(graduation or a birthday). Taking into consideration the amount of us eating(15 to 20 people) and the price for the food, Beijing Buffet isn’t such a bad option. My family isn’t picky with their food anyway — if the quality is okay, then it’s good for them. Food is more on the greasy side, but it’s fairly decent for what my family was going for — to eat, eat, eat because we were starving, starving, starving. I’ve been here more than three times and I’ve never had an upset stomach or food poisoning(knock on wood). So far so good? Besides Chinese food, there is seafood(crabs, oysters), small portion of sushi choices, western food(fries and pizza), desserts like a chocolate fountain, and do it yourself soft served ice cream with cake cones available. The service isn’t too fast and it may take a while for you to get a refill since it’s always busy. The staff seems to just help start you off and then give you your space the rest of the time. If you want to try this place, I’d suggest you come here with an open mind and an open stomach — if you’re incredibly hungry and you’re not really particular about the taste of the food.

When I heard of the Chinese buffet I got real excited and decided to try it out. I should have went to ihop instead. They have a wide variety of foods, but none of which have good flavor. Most of the things I tried were oily or were just bland. I think the only things I did like were the potstickers and the California rolls. My personal go to was the pudding, because how can you mess up chocolate pudding? I would only say to go here if you’re absolutely starving and don’t care about your taste buds.

I must have came here on a bad day… But I’ll probably never come here again because I got food poisoning immediately after eating. I think it was from the supposedly cooked oyster that was definitely not cooked because my stomach began to feel funny after finishing my first plate… Besides that, I think if you’re looking for an inexpensive place to grub for a cheap price, don’t hesitate to swing by. I think if you have a party of 50 or more, it’ll only be $ 12/person? And drinks are free. My brothers found out that there’s a guy that will cook meats(or whatever you want if you just tell them/give them) for you and they said it made the food taste sooo much better. My advice is just to avoid the seafood… It’s dangerous :/
