Need a place to go to for lunch, and you just happened to be near that masjid on Liberty Ave; then come to this great joint I like how EVERYTHING is made fresh, I mean you have to wait a bit, but that’s normal, it’s FRESH. The place is clean, and it has great service, so you won’t have a bad time here. The cheeseburger here is tasty, the fries aren’t overdone like some other places I’ve been to(I will make reviews for those some other time). Fried chicken is something to die for. Made with fresh chicken AND is kept crispy very well. I heard that when after people pray in the Masjid(that’s currently being rebuilt and remodeled), it will get jammed packed. This proves how successful they are Overall, with good service, food, being cleaned really well, and the amount of customers they get, this is a place to be. Just don’t call the cheeseburgers«hamburgers». They even have a warning sign that says not to call it a hamburger. Seems legit.

My first time ordering from this place. I always base the level of service on a first time delivery order. The fried chicken is Really good and so is the chicken fried rice. It had the right amount of spicy taste to it and the chicken was properly cooked! Will definitely order again! Kudos to the chef!

I’m really disappointed by the service here. I’ve ordered delivery a few times before but today I was told they don’t deliver to my area. In speaking with the manager, he just said it’s too far for the driver(I’m less than 10 mins away) and hung up. That was pretty rude.

I think this place is all about the«hype». The food really isn’t that great to get all excited about. I ordered a cheeseburger, I didn’t get cheese on it, ok fine. tiny mistake. But my husband ordered fried chicken with French fries, and the chicken wasn’t cooked all the way through! I called to not to complain, but to let them know so they can be careful… served under-cooked poultry can get people sick! The man who answered the phone got upset WITHME and thought it was ok to say«well what do you want me to do?! Just bring it back I’ll put it back in the fryer.» WHAT!!! put a bitten piece of chicken into the fryer??? Needless to say. I won’t be returning. I should’ve taken that dirty looking beard without a beard net on as a red flag. Complete FAIL.

Okay food but the delivery took some time. I ordered a chicken sandwich with no tomato and there was tomato. The beef burger that was ordered as well was okay if you like your burger very beefy. My sandwich came with a spicy mayo type sauce and I asked for no sauce. It also came with fries and a canned soda. The food is halal so expect to pay a little more for your food. Next time, I’ll walk in instead of having it delivered to ensure my food is just how I order it. I recommend this place.

Pros: 1. Good spot for fried chicken in the neighborhood, tasty. 2. Serving size is huge for fried rices and noodles, etc. 3. Also now has a Chinese oriented menu, like chicken and broccoli. 4. Prices are very good for the amount of food. And has cheaper variety of options. Cons: 1. Can get very busy due to serving the Muslim community and being Halal. 2. Takes a while to get order due to volume of people, so call ahead 30 minutes. 3. Food is paki-chinese styled, so for those who need to know… yes it can be a little bit spicy for the noodles/fried rice. But you have other good options like the burgers/chicken burgers an fries. 4. Parking in the neighborhood is getting bad, so preferably walk to this location or drop off someone to pick up your order but expect a line, so circle around a few times.

Always love going to this place! If you’re in walking distance, I would recommend calling in the order and then picking up. The time for delivery is bit long in my opinion. The fried chicken here is super flavorful and crunchy and good. The beef burgers are MASSIVE(massively delicious!) and worth the money. The fried rice+lo mein are more west indian to the flavor and the service is polite. I come here all the time and don’t plan on stopping.

MashaAllah, it is hard to find a restaurant like this(legit Halal). The food is amazing, and their service is great. They have a unique hot sauce which is bursting with flavor. If I had 6 stars, I would give it

Amazing experience with the customer service. The employees were kind, friendly and wouldn’t even allow me to throw my own trash away during the month of Ramadan. Alhamdulilah. The owner even brought me my food. Great service and very clean establishment. Thanks for the 5 star experience.

This place has the best Fri chicken I ever tasted in Queens. One bite and you can easily find yourself wanting more. Their meals are always fresh and prepared with many different varieties to choose from. With a friendly welcoming environment of customer service Darbar has officially became a place where me and my love ones can enjoy a good meal.

Saw their delivery truck ship meat in. No gloves. Nothing sanitary. Just with their hands.

A bit over rated. I usually eat salt to taste but my the chicken was way too salty for my liking. Fried rice was ok, nothing to brag about. Chicken Sandwich was super salty and soggy.

Fried chicken and rice is sooo good. Idk what recipe they use but it’s delicious. My aunt is muslim and this is her favorite place to eat because it is halal.

This place is actually really good for vegetarian food as well I found. They have the best vegetable fried rice and mixed vegetables I’ve had in a long time. Much better value for your money than buying the same things at Kaiteur Express which is also on Liberty Avenue.

The food here used to be so good. The wait time used to be a little long but it was worth the wait. Now, the food is not good at all, and the wait time is too long.

All I know is, that it’s 3:45AM. Oh what I wouldn’t give for a House Special Fried Rice with some spicy BBQ wings right now from Darbars. I was doing research onto why there have been some recent negative remarks, but everyone of those reviews mentions the competitor’s place called Carifesta. Seems like a rather shady that those reviews would mention the same store.(I’ve never been so I can’t judge the food) I’ve been eating at Darbar’s since 2007, and I’ve never had an issue that wasn’t immediately taken care of by those who work there. Great Place… going next week, to help myself to some GRUBBBBBB!

Excellent fried chicken and gyros. Place could be cleaner. My only peeve is the slow service. I usually get their food before going fishing and the long waits test my patience more than the fishing does :)

My wife and I picked up an 8 piece yesterday and it was pretty good, but today it had the smell of old frying oil. So I am not planning to go back anymore. Two thumbs down…

I only put one star because no star wasn’t an option. This place is so NASTY. DONOTWASTEYOURTIME, MONEY, ORENERGYINTHISDUMP! The men that work there look like they were wrestling in mud before they cooked the food. I got a hair in my food, which I wouldn’t doubt was from one of their long beards. When I took back the food to show them, they accused me of putting the hair in it myself. SERIOUSLY… I was so infuriated I left the food there and walked out. I went a few doors down to carifesta(my all time favorite) where it is clean and the guy that owns the place(Al) is not only clean but super friendly

I ordered from this place using Grubhub, but it was the worst experience I’ve ever had with Grubhub by far. Food didn’t arrive for almost 2 hours, and the food was terrible. The mozz sticks I ordered was just thrown into a brown bag, no container, all the food was cold, probably because of how long the driver took, and even though I didn’t order any spicy food, the lo mein with honey BBQ wings was so spicy I couldn’t finish the food. I payed by credit card and pre-tipped 20%, however if I would’ve known it was going to take almost 2 hours, the driver would’ve been lucky to get $ 1 from me. Won’t make that mistake twice. Will never order from them again and will make sure no one I know orders from there either.

We had the fried chicken, the chicken sandwich(fried, not grilled though you can have it that way as well), and the hot wings. All were really good, far better than what we’ve had at other fried chicken joints. The fried chicken is adequately seasoned and oh-so-crisp. You will burn your mouth waiting for it to cool so you can eat it, so just accept that already. The chicken sandwich surprised me– it wasn’t your garden-variety, breaded chicken pattie from a box… it was a piece of chicken breast coated in the same batter that they use on the fried chicken. Small things like that really show you that they care about the quality of their food. It was served on a warm toasted bun,(this is also important, many places forget this critical step in making burgers/sandwiches and it just kills the experience imo) with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. It was so good, moist and super flavorful. My husband had the wings and said that they were the perfect level of heat. The fries weren’t the best that we’ve had but that’s okay. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is very friendly. Will return in the future and definitely recommend this place!

As you can tell from my pictures, I had the Fried Rice and Fried Chicken and my BF had the Fried Chicken and Lo Mein. 1st: The fried chicken is tasty! Not bland like most(maybe all) fried chicken joints. This one is ACTUALLY seasoned. 2nd: The fried rice is more like West Indian style rice. Which is very flavorful since they add cabbage, carrots and green onions. YUMMY! And 3rd: The lo Mein was also West Indian Style Lo Mein(less soy sauce) with the same veggies as the rice. OK, as for the staff… they were very pleasant and cool peoples! Coming back next time and bringing some friends so they can try it out too!

Darbars is some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Please don’t say KFC to me, you will get smacked. The chicken from Darbars is crispy, juicy, and just so flavorful. Everything is good here: the fried rice, lo mein, burgers, beef ribs, chicken sandwich, wings. Their food is quality food and it’s made to order. You should definitely call ahead or you’re gonna be in for a wait. Everyone I recommended Darbars to loved it. I have a friend in Maryland who tried it once when he was in NY and he’s still talking about it. I don’t know how they do it. They keep expanding their menu and the food is always up to par. Highly recommended!
