My husband and I usually stay in South Portland when we visit Maine, but this was the first time we stayed at this hotel. The hotel was clean, the rooms were updated, and it was convenient. The breakfast was a typical hotel free breakfast. If you want something more, there is a great restaurant next door called Simple Simon’s that has good eggs and hash browns. The hotel also gave us cookies and water upon arrival(a nice touch)! We liked how we could get to our room from multiple entranceways with our room key. Only minor complaint was that the room we were in had a mild smell of feet. We think it might have been the carpets. Perhaps they might consider using some sort of carpet refresher when they vacuum. However, we think we will return. We were happy with the price and the location to the highway. Thank you for a great long weekend!

My boyfriend & I decided to go to Maine for the fourth of July weekend on a whim and needed to find a place asap. We had stayed in a nearby hotel on July 3rd and then decided to not reserve a room for July 4th in case we might want to stay closer to Old Orchard Beach or another hotel in Portland. Little did we know that all the hotels were booked! This was one of the few hotels that still had rooms available — we stayed in the suite which was $ 169 for the night. From the outside this Quality Inn doesn’t look as nice — just a typical hotel so I wasn’t expecting much. When I went inside the suite, I was surprised. The suite was pretty nice, modern, and clean! It was a mini apartment — with a small living room, a little kitchenette, bathroom, vanity mirror area, and the bedroom which had two queen beds(there were no king beds available). Both the living room and the bedroom had large flat screens hooked with cable. There is also complimentary breakfast in the mornings 6 – 9 am. Pretty standard food — waffles, eggs, yogurt, bagels, muffins, etc. Advice to management: 1. Fix the cable! It works but the picture is fuzzy. Also, the staff was super friendly and accommodating! Overall, I think we got pretty lucky paying $ 169 for this room on July 4th considering that every other hotel was booked and the ones that weren’t were of much less standard than this one yet asking for the same price.
