Always impressed with their endless options and Student Discount. Great variety! And the staff is always helpful when searching for a specific beer or when looking to try out a new brew.

I’d rather give 0 stars. There are a multitude of small local private owned liquor stores in the area with more character that I’d rather give my business . This place is over priced . Staff is rude . I approached the counter with 3 cases of beer & a bottle, I asked to use the bathroom, it was to the point I couldn’t hold it any more . This disheveled woman looked me up & down to reply«go across the street to 5guys« I pleaded with her ! And even mentioned that how could you tell a paying customer to leave their purchase !? Her coworker than mentions a customer who flooded their bathroom(they laugh together) So I had to leave my cart, run across the parking lot(it was raining at that) as the staff laughs at me . I will never return !!! Unless the owner revamps his staff & makes a bathroom for paying patrons. Wine Château across the street is where I went.

I adore Wine Country. As a lover of oenology, I first visited in July 2013. I was greeted by a friendly staff member: WC Man: Hi, is there anything we can help you find today? Me: I’m looking for a viognier blend, something that would pair well with seafood, erring on the dry side with hints of melon, do you have any suggestions? WC Man: Errr, yeah we don’t tend to stock a ton of them… we sell a lot of moscato here. *We exchanged a knowing look* His unpretentious and candid attitude was hilarious. The folks at Wine Country always have great recommendations. The prices are extremely good and of a broad range. Well-organized and easy to navigate Great place to go if you need a gift. I was just in this past week looking for the seasonal Leinenkugel. I found its spot empty on the shelf. An employee saw me standing there and before I could blink, he whisked out a fresh 6-pack from the storeroom. Awesome service and discounts for students. One star off because there is a sole employee(blonde woman, maybe late 20s?) who is just a piece of work. Seems to have an incurable aversion to smiling and has always treated me and my friends with inexplicable rudeness. I asked about the student discount once(as in, is there a points system, members card, RU students only, etc.) and her response was«well, you get a discount». Wow, yes, that part is obvious enough. Fortunately I have not seen her recently so management may have caught on to her nasty attitude. Other than that, I love this store very much.

So I came to wine country on the hunt for the Game of thrones beer. By the time you read this it probably will have sold out, but maybe not continue reading. So I was looking for this beer. I had gotten 2 bottles up north when I went home for the weekend for a buddy of mine and myself. But I really wanted an extra bottle to save for a special occasion, possibly a season premier. So I came here and asked the guy about it. He coyly brought to the side and showed me a bottle and told me that it wasn’t on sale yet because they hadn’t priced it. But if I came back the next day i could get one. Great! I thought. So I went home and the next day I went it around when they told me to come back. I asked another employee and they had told me they were limiting people to one. And he talked up the beer like no other. Which I was happy to listen to. Then I bring it to the counter and they guy tell me 20 bucks. So I asked him about the price, because I told him it was high. He then goes into a spiel about how due to the success of the last one and how limited quantity this was, that they brewery decided that they weren’t stupid so they raised the price on it so they could cash in on this beer. He also said they had to buy a number of cases of Ommegang to get it in,(which I believe.) It was really my only chance to try it. So after thinking I had just gotten this for 8.99 and the company isn’t trying to cash in because it would be easier to keep selling a beer that sold out in a day in the locations you could get it then just jack up prices I declined purchasing it. Drove 5 minutes down the street, and picked up a few bottles for 8.99 each. Beside this incident where I really feel they were trying to pull a fast one and screw customers over charging an Additional 205% on top of the profit they would normally make on the bottle. Which they are entitled to in our capitalistic society. The people there were really nice and friendly. They had a fantastic selection of different wines, and I surprisingly large bourbon section which impressed me. They also had a good craft beer selection. For me the biggest thing stopping me from coming back is what they guy said to me when I questioned the price, and how he said it. Which is hard to convey here. But you should check this place out on your own and see what your experiences are, just be conscious of exclusive product tax.

Wine Country is officially the only place I plan get my liquor from now on. When it comes to having different selections to choose from, you can’t go wrong with this place. There are so many brands, types, and sizes available, you will end up browsing every aisle in awe. Most items are shelved out in the open, but if there’s something you don’t see, they do keep some in storage. Just ask! Let me just say that is the nicest and mostly efficiently organized liquor establishment that I have ever been to. The facility is kept extremely clean and the racks are organized in a way that will appeal to the OCD. There’s various décor positioned all around the store so that it doesn’t feel too systematic and boring. The rows between racks are spaced generously to allow shopping carts and multiple people at once. It’s in a big plaza, so there is plenty of parking. I was a little hesitant that such a nice looking facility would surely pass on the cost to the customer, but it couldn’t be further from the truth. Not only are the bottles priced aggressively low, they also have additional discounts depending on what and how much you buy. My only hope is that I don’t turn into an alcoholic from the temptation of all these good deals. Everyone I’ve interacted with has been very pleasant and helpful when I had questions. They have a sign requiring photo ID for credit cards, but they didn’t ask me for it. They seem to be very knowledgeable about what they carry. Don’t be afraid to engage them since they seem eager to assist. The icing on the cake for me is the fact that they have special wine bags, shaped to carry two 750ML bottles, and also provide a cardboard insert to stop the bottles from being in contact with each other. You know what they say, it’s the little things that matter. Inventory: 5⁄5 Environment: 5⁄5 Price: 5⁄5 Service: 5⁄5 I never thought I’d have enough to say about a liquor store worthy of an entire review, but Wine Country has set the bar for what an alcohol shopping experience should be.

this place is the closest location to Philly/farthest South you can go to get a bottle of Kilepitsch and Mamajuana. Joe Canal’s will order the Kil but you have to buy a whole case – ridiculous.

I feel like I have no choice but to update my review of Wine Country. When I first came here, I was shocked by how low the prices were.(They’re almost as cheap as Costco in an apples to apples comparison, which is impressive considering that you need to pay for a membership to shop at Costco.) I intitially attributed the fact that I kept getting crappy wines here to the fact that I’m antisocial, and don’t like to ask staff members for recommendations(in addition to the fact that I don’t know much about selecting wines). After enough bad bottles in their featued sections up front, I thought that maybe the featured sections were like how some restaurants craft their specials out of whatever is about to spoil. Since Wine Country is super close to my home, and 50 feet from the nearest Target, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and start shopping in other areas. I have finally purchased enough bottles from enough areas to be confident in my assertion that Wine Country is not a place that I am ever going to find a decent bottle in the $ 15 to $ 20 range. Dumb luck would’ve brought me one by this point if it had any liklihood of happening. That’s not to say that Wine Country is not a useful place. If you’re looking for a mass produced bottle or box, I’d be willing to bet that Wine Country will have it about as cheap as anybody. Just don’t go there if you’re looking to discover something a little more obscure than Yellowtail, Le Petit Pengoin, or Franzia.

Nice store, helpful staff who can even do custom orders if asked. They have a mailing list too that offers extra daily discounts and coupons so I’d recommend joining if you live locally. The selection is very good, and the prices are reasonable for the area. If you are a Rutgers employee, let them know and you’ll get a discount on non-discounted items, too.
