This place is solid all around; great food, great ambiance and good prices. Its been a while since I have been there but it is one of the better Korean style restaurants in the area.

The food was awesome and the waiters were friendly. Enjoyed the BBQ shrimp and beef. Also love that it is BYOB with a liquor store next door.

So here’s the lowdown on this place… The food is awesome, the experience is awesome, and the wait in never that bad. This place knows how to move people through the motions and get them out. However, just know that no matter how you cook your food at the BBQ tables, you’re doing it wrong. If you try and help it’s when you aren’t supposed to help… if you don’t try and help it’s when you are supposed to help. So as long as your okay with doing everything wrong but still getting rewarded with delicious food, check this place out.

Been here three times and the food here is just okay, nothing really stood out to me. They serve a decent amount of side dishes. Aside from Korean food they also serve some Japanese food. I have not tried any of the Japanese food. Service is good, the waiters were friendly and always checking up on us and refilling our drinks. I would comeback(hence why this is my third visit) and recommend this place to others. I would really give this place a 3.5 stars.

Solid 4 Stars! Banchan + 2 orders of kalbi + mul naengmyun & bibim naengmyun + some salmon and uni sashimi = more than enough for our group of 3. Honestly this is probably fitting for a group of 4 – 5 but, who were we kidding, right?! Inner fatties were in full effect! And for drinks? BYOB for the win! Hit up the liquor store next door for bottles of soju and some beers and you’re good to go! So why 4 not 5 stars? Cause it’s not the best kalbi I’ve ever had and it’s on the pricier side here. Also have had better naengmyun. Service adds to the star deduction as well. It took them quite some time to get us started with our meal.(i.e. serving the banchan and getting the grill started) And this was before the crowds came in for dinner service. Once the crowds came and the grills were in full force, something was up with the ventilation at some of the tables closer to the front of house and the whole place was super smokey. Hopefully they’ll clean the vents and it won’t be like that on our next visit. Let’s end this with a list of positives though!!! 1. BYOB — yes I have to mention that a second time because BYOB joints are awesome! 2. I love that they grill up the kalbi bones and bring them back for us to enjoy towards the end of the meal. 3. Their sushi is decent and I was grateful they had uni(knowing it’s in season right now). 4.(And most important) Good Korean BBQ is hard to come by in this area, so if that’s what you’re craving I suggest you come here! I absolutely love coming here!!! We go so much all the staff recognizes us. The best time to go on the weekends is right when they open up. Unfortunately my daughter and I are allergic to shellfish, so we are limited on food choices and can’t get the full experience :(Some people complain about how full they get which slows down their table service. But that just speaks to how great the food is that people still come and are willing to wait. Also if you can, get together with some friends and chill in the private room. It’s an all together different feel. Oh and you can bring your own alcohol but if you forget to bring some there is a liquor store next door. Make shore to try some Soju. Its sooooo smooth, but watch out it will sneak up on you. l hope my review encourages you to dine a KHJR. The best thing you can do is to not look for reasons to criticize and just enjoy yourself!!!

Service is very very good. They are friendly, and they give constant refill of side dishes. However. The food was below average. I would not return even though I was impressed with the service. Soondubu was disappointing.

So this place isn’t stylish more like dumpish. However the food is on point as far as Korean BBQ is considered. Can’t speak about sushi because we came for the BBQ. The place does have a ventilation problem but man does it smell good!!! Def would come back! Delicious!

Food is excellent especially the Korean BBQ. The Bulgogi, which I’ve tried on occasion, is also very good although the beef seems to be a bit dry at times. I always get the Yook Ge Jang or Kim Chi Jige soup which is always delicious. The sushi is very fresh and clean. My only complaint would be the service which is brusque and often less than friendly unless you speak Korean.

This is one of the few good Korean restaurants in the area. Cooking on the BBQ grills here is the best part about eating here. I also enjoy the sushi served here. The only negative that I experienced is the tea being served in glass cups. It makes it so hard to hold the tea. I just don’t understand why they use glass cups. Minus the glass cups, I would definitely come back here.

From the outside I would think its a sushi joint thanks to the giant Sushi sign out front. But in the end this is an authentic Korean place one of the best I’ve had in NJ. I suggest making reservations because it can get crowded. We got lucky and scored one of the tables that is set in the floor that has a Japanese feel. You have to take off your shoes. My daughter loved it. The bonchon was excellent. The steamed egg was yummy and the rest had great spice to them. We had two orders of Kalbi which we cooked at the table on the coal grill. My wife loves their cold noodle which she says is the best in NJ. Seafood pancake and chigae were also outstanding. Will definitely be back for more.

I honestly had an okay time. The food was raw so you get to cook it and request what kind of meat you’d like. I ordered the beef tongue and my gf ordered the filet mignon marinated which both were yummy. The clam soup was not a great choice but then again for 3 bucks what did you expect? Lol We also ordered 2 sushi rolls which I wasn’t a big fan of … The dancing dragon was better then the spicy tuna with cream cheese. I was upset because the staff barely spoke English and the service really sucked. Our waiter was so slow and when I asked if he could tell the chef to make a special roll he said you have to ask him yourself. Are you serious? So I got up and asked the chef meanwhile the chef speaks no English. I said Aspaaaaraggussss, very slooooowly as if I was some kind of retard. Dew yew have? He said No but I think he just didn’t understand me. So they lost 2 points for this . Then the old lady(I’m assuming is the owner) brought us our check when we had just placed an order for the 2 rolls. I’m thinking, really? You guys are so unorganized and rude. They lost another point. I would go back but with a huge group — then maybe they’d respect us a bit more knowing the bill would be much higher at that point.

I have been here a few times last year and decided to go again recently. This review is mostly about my latest experience because it was very different than the last few times I had been here. At the most recent time I came here was on a weekend and therefore was getting a bit rushed. However my friend were seated immediately. I ordered tofu soup because I was starting to get a bit sick and my friend ordered bibimbap. The tofu soup was awful! It tasted as if the chef used a miso soup base which made the entire dish taste off. My friend was content with her bibimbap but it was a bit bland and thus added copious amounts of Siracha to her dish. However, when I was here a few months ago, I was served excellent food. The tofu soup was mouthwatering. The side dishes were innovative and delicious. And the BBQ made us relax and fall in love with this place. I don’t even know what to say. How can the food change so much within the span of a year?! It went from fab to drab. I’m still so mind boggled. I will probably give this place one last chance on a weekday and determine whether or not to come here again.

I’ve been here a few times, but this review is mainly based on my last visit. I was between a 3 or 4 star, but the service was beyond my expectations! A FOURSTAR, it is! Three of my friends and I decided to come here for dinner, but we came separately. We decided to meet at 8:30, but my friend and I arrived early at 8:20. We were quickly seated with a cup of tea while we waited for our friends. The server even took my phone away to charge it! The workers were so friendly and attentive! They came by to see if we wanted to order anything, and we said, «No, we’ll wait for our friends.» They continued to check on us and refill our teas without bothering or pushing us to order. Our friends were SOLATE! They finally came around 9pm! We wanted to order a seafood casserole/hotpot, japchae noodles, and tofu soup, but the server explained to us about the portions and that the hot pot and tofu soup are very similar! It was very nice of them to let us know cause with only the casserole and japchae, we couldn’t finish everything! There was so much food! Plus, the meal only costed about $ 15 per person! We were literally the only ones left when we left the restaurant!!! The attitudes and service were AMAZING! I have to say that the food were not the best. Maybe even average. The japchae lacked flavors, but the casserole was pretty tasty, flavorful, and generous with lots of seafood!

I would give 4 for just service tho. We were immediately seated and the lady immediately asked us what we wanted to eat(I was annoyed but I also appreciated the efficiency) and we told her that we needed more time and she came back twice in 5 mins… it was nice that she reminded us about the portion of this house special we were gonna order(so she didn’t just want us to order the expensive stuffs but the right portion). So I really appreciated that. The food we ordered(spicy squid with thin noodle and seafood pancake) came in lightening speed which really impressed us. We are there for a long time and no one really signaled us to leave(for instance by starting to clean up or putting the check on the table prematurely) so that was nice of them to do that on a Sunday. I gave them a 3 star in the end for the food. He food we ordered were both quite mediocre. I have tried many korean places and I have to say hopefully it’s coz we didn’t order the speciality food there(seems like it would be the bbq) that I wasn’t satisfied with the taste of the food. The flavor was simply very one dimensional and on the sweet side, but I was hoping for more of a nice korean spicy kick. Will come back to try the other food out for the location and good service. Don’t let the sketchy outside prevent you from trying this place out! It’s nicer inside!

Since my dad is constantly back and forth from NJ to Johns Hopkins, they often stop here for a break and a great meal. They found this place when they used to see close family friends many years ago(I am thinking 70’s/80’s/90’s?) You could literally blink and miss this place in a strip mall right off 287. Imagine my surprise when this place had 122 reviews under its name! The portions were very good and came in large portions. Banchan was good. My dad and I split the jajangmyeon(noodle dish topped with soybean paste, diced pork and vegetables) and tangsuyuk(Korean sweet and sour pork), of which these two dishes are always ordered together. My mom got the sundubu jjigae(spicy Korean stew dish). Every dish was perfect. Service was very attentive, but we were there for an early dinner as we were traveling back from Baltimore. I live near Fort Lee and Palisades Park, but if Kimchi Hana were up here, it would give the local restaurants some stiff competition.

My first ever doing Korean Barbeque. I know, it’s shocking. I know, and I’m Asian. Quite the popular place. A ton of Koreans and Japanese people come here to feast, big time. Started off with some complimentary appetizers. I really enjoyed the sweet potato dish. Ordered the: Hae Mool Pajun– Rich and Thicker seafood pancake, lots of shrimp. Served right away. It was very hot and crispy. Lots of scallions and shrimp in it. Sul Lung Tang– beef bone soup, slowly boiled over night mild. Very bland soup. They did not season this at all. No different than drinking warm water. You must order 2 dishes if you are doing Korean BBQ. Wang Kal Bi– marinated beef short rib. Very well marinated. Cooked very nicely over the coal. It has very good flavor, taste, tender, and juicy. Bool Go Gi– marinated sliced prime beef. I didn’t really like this one as much. They cut them thinly and they come out burnt if you don’t take them out right away. Wrap the meats with lettuce and sauce. Taste better that way. Service was a bit slow. It was hard to get a refill of water. The staff barbeques for you, but they rarely came back to check on us. We really did all the BBQing ourselves. Quite an expensive meal for all that. Left here smelling like Korean BBQ.
