I met a friend here for lunch on a Friday. Quick, friendly service, which is great for lunch break. There are only a few tables, but from what I saw most people get takeout at the time we went, so it wasn’t a problem. I even called ahead and they said it wasn’t super necessary for a reservation for noon on a Friday. The sushi quality is pretty all right; if you order the regular rolls you actually get 8 rather than 6.

Been here a couple times in the past. It’s very small. But the people here were friendly. The food was good. The price was decent. I need to come back soon for a reevaluation. But from what I remember, I was pleased with everything we’ve gotten.

Small place, around 5 tables. The people are very friendly, food comes out pretty quickly, but the sushi is just decent. Any rolls with«tempura flakes» sort of feel like biting into sawdust. Ask for the edamame to be unsalted if possible, ours came out with salt just dumped on.

My husband and I are regular customers that love coming to Fuji Sushi. The fish is always fresh, the selection is perfect and the prices are just right. The restaurant is very cozy. The owner is always there and knows us by name and makes us feel very welcome as if we are in his own home. Even during my 9 month pregnancy absence, he remembered conversations we had in the past. Definitely a great hidden gem in South Plainfield.

Atmosphere: the restaurant is very small. It could probably only fit 15 people at most it’s that small. If they put a little more effort into make their small area look nice, it would make a huge difference. Two words when I first walked in Small and Cramped . Service: no problems with the service. Being a small place the owner was very attentive, always asking if we needed anything .plus it also helped that we were the only people in the establishment. Food: All I have to say, it was ok. That’s the honest truth. Mediocre at best. Nothing to me really stood out and made me want to say wow . Conclusion: I honestly was hoping that the food going to be good. I wanted it to be, but not the case. I saw that it had a Unilocal rating of 4 out of 5 stars which was the only reason I decided to check it out to begin with. I feel that this place should be rated 3 stars at most. Would I go back here? Maybe not. I would take the time out of my way to go somewhere else that’s better. If you want a quick sushi fix then I say yes this place is good, but if you’re looking for quality, I’ll pass on this place. Sorry to sound harsh, but that’s the truth. Again, this is just my point of view and your experience could be different. Oh FYI, the parking lot is very small for this establishment just in case anyone reads my review and check out this place.

Had my first non-sushi meal. The miso soup is pretty good and the yaki udon could use some more flavor, but for the most part still a great choice.

My wife is Korean and she loves sushi and fresh fish, she is very picky when it comes to sushi, so we’ve been driving all over Edison NJ looking for a good place, this is our fourth place in our quest for quality… And I can assure you won’t be disappointed, owner is great person to interact with, place is small but nice and clean, but most importantly the food is amazing!!! Don’t hesitate, this place is fantastic.

on my way back home i always pass by this place and i told my wife we should go try it. Reviews are good, so why not? At the front window they advertise 80pcs for $ 46, what a great deal i thought. I picked Spicy Salmon(3), Alaska(3), Philly(2), NY and Boston. WHile i was waiting(on Saturday!!! night) between 7p and 7:30p only one person walked in and 1 couple was at the table, seemed unusual for such a good place)) anyways i picked up my order and headed home what can i say about sushi itself, nothing special, a lot of rice and a little bit of fish in it, i couldn’t figure out where’s spicy salmon, they really looked like alaska, taste was just ok, Judge yourself but i’m not going back there, nothing special just like tons of other similar places. SO i’ll stick to the one’s i know and where sushi chief wants you to enjoy his sushi not just sell it

Wanted to try a new sushi place so ordered some takeout and man was the food good! I got the edamame and couple of rolls one being the twins roll. Everything was delish! I told my friend about how good the food was and we decided to dine in. The place itself is really small but it was clean and comfortable. We went overboard and ordered way too many rolls but everything was so good. The staff was really friendly and it looks like it’s a family owned place. I also believe it’s byob but we didn’t bring anything. I was overhearing someone talking to the girl working who was the owners daughter and she was on her spring break from college and working at the restaurant. She’s a class act! Gotta try this place if you’re in the area!

I can’t even begin to explain how great this place is! I’ve lived in south Plainfield my whole life and they always had some horrible restaurant where Fuji sushi now is. Fugi sushi is the best sushi bar I’ve ever been to. The food is absolutely delicious! And I love the size and portions they give not only is the food amazing but the owners are the sweetest people you will ever meet! Me and my husband go out of are way to eat here at least twice a week, they take great care of us every single time!

Great place! Very small, but they have a great selection of food. I ended up getting 3 rolls for $ 12 which is a pretty good deal because there are 8 pieces in a roll, not 6. The deal didn’t apply to their special rolls, so if you’re okay with the standard selection, this is the choice to go with. They have cali roll, sweet potato, avocado, chicken/shrimp or eel tempura, boston, alaska and a few others that you can get in the 3 for $ 12 deal. The sushi tasted fresh and 3 rolls is more than enough to fill you up(it put me in a food coma). Fuji Sushi House has nice décor and friendly service as well. It’s BYOB too. Will be coming back soon! FYI, the place is really small and it’s pretty easy to miss. The parking lot is hidden pretty well.

1 hour and 40 minutes to deliver 4 rolls 2 miles away. We kept calling and they kept saying they were on their way. So disappointed, I loved this place but after waiting and getting tiny rolls I’m kinda done.

I’ve driven by this place a thousand times and was always a bit apprehensive. One day we were craving sushi and didn’t want to drive 45 minutes to our favorite place so we decided to give Fuji Sushi House a try. We’re glad we did. The service was attentive and professional. The sushi was tasty, fresh and reasonably priced for the quality. The other reviewers that complain about the prices here don’t understand how expensive good fresh fish is. The prices at Fuji Sushi House are perfectly reasonable for decent sushi. We liked the sushi rolls we got here and am glad we gave it a try. We can’t wait to go back for some good rolls so close to home. Recommended!

I’ve wanted to order sushi from here for awhile now. First impressions are everything with me, and I can firmly state this place did not disappoint me one bit! The place is VERY clean and has no smell despite looking grungy from the industrialization outside. I even monitored the back area for cleanliness and it seemed to be very organized and spot free. The man that placed our large order was very friendly, and he even took the time to explain the menu in greater detail(we wanted to order a platter for a future occasion). I was also surprised how quickly our order came out! We found the sushi to be quiet tasty, and I would also highly recommend the spicy crab salad. Tip: Go on a Monday, they have $ 6.99 special for 2 rolls. We will be back here!

I really enjoyed it here. Its a small establishment(about 6 tables and a sushi bar. They seem to have a loyal customer base. Almost all of the patrons were familiar with the staff. They frequently run specials. Mondays they have buy one roll and get the 2nd half off. Lucky for me the day I strolled in just happened to be a Monday. So I got 2 rolls for like 6 or 7 dollars. They were very friendly and the food sushi was good. They refilled my tea cup whenever it got low. My only gripe is that I had to ask for extra wassabi which isn’t really much of a grip. Very nice place and very nice people. I may make this a Monday night ritual.
