This has became my favorite ice cream place since the first day I found it. My Dad’s birthday cake, father’s day cake and so on, I love all the ice cream here. :D

Got the Chai Latte yogurt. It was pretty amazing. Had a nice«pumpkin spice latte» twang to it. If you’re into that. Like if a certain coffee establishment only carried that flavor of beverage only sometimes during the year but you really want some and know that you won’t be able to get any, you could definitely come here and get the Chai Latte yogurt and be satisfied because they taste oddly similar and both are equally delicious. That was a long thought. Unilocal makes you write so many words.

Yogurt flavors are great. They have at least two NAS and NF flavors which are very tasty. The consistency of the yogurt is super creamy. It’s not self serve so at least you know machines are not contaminated. Will be visiting frequently. Topping are also fresh and abundant.

Hands down the best frozen yogurt I’ve ever had! I don’t know why it took me so log to stop in, but their chocolate is perfect, creamy and rich but not too sweet! Delicious. Just not a huge fan of the price, which is why I don’t stop in more often. I do like that it’s so close to my house though and I finally understand what the fuss is all about.

The coffee shakes at this place are the best! Just make sure they don’t make it with ice. My only complaint is that it’s really a roll of the dice what type of help you receive. Some of the employees are fantastic and some are terrible.

If you’re used to yorgurtland or even Pinkberry, I think you’d like those places better. But if you don’t wanna drive out there, penguins can satisfy your craving for a sweet treat!

Good place for ice cream. Their frozen yogurt isn’t as good. I think they’re trying to hop on the yogurtland/pink berry trend but the flavors we tried were not very good. We went with a waffle cone with single scoop of cookies and cream, do not regret a thing :) I saw some kids studying here too, it’s pretty quiet and they have plenty of tables and some outlets. Seems like a good post to get some work done!

I only went here once… i got iced coffee and my 2 yrs old son got a sample of their frozen yogurt. My iced coffee wasn’t good at all, but the sample of the frozen yogurt my son got was pretty delicious. I will not go back there for coffee, but for frozen yogurt samples… If i like the samples enough, i will change my reviews…

This place is great! We actually drove from Chino to Pasadena to try it out. For those people my age, they remember when Penguin’s was everywhere. Anyway, I saw that they have a great sugar free selection. I had the sugar free praline/vanilla. It was awesome. Great location, friendly employees, and great prices.

I like this place a lot. It’s been here forever(way pre-Pinkberry). They have a good selection of frozen yogurt(the basics plus some rotating flavors) and a good selection of toppings(fruit, chocolate and other syrups, nuts, candy and cookie bits) and a few ice cream choices as well. Not five stars because their cheap plastic chairs, while a good match for the children who spill everywhere, are less comfortable for us *cough* older folk.

Yummy frozen yogurt that’s healthy but tastes full of flavor. After coming here for a while, I finally decided to get mine with a dipped cone. It’s soooo good, but you do get a sugar coma after, so plan accordingly.

After a nice Italian dinner at Buca Di Beppo, we decided to go Penguin’s Frozen Yorgurt & Coffee. This is our first at Penguin’s I know they couple Penguins Yorgurt & Coffee left. This places is really nice clean and the service was helpful and nice. We would come back again.

Cute fun place to stop for a cup of frozen yogurt and if you’re in need of a good pick me up they also serve Peet’s Coffee. Customer service was spot on, every helpful, polite, suggestive with flavors and even got out the nutrition facts for me when I asked for specifics on ingredients. The décor is super cute! Inside is fun, relaxing and welcoming. The out door seating area is also a bonus to have. They have an average amount of flavors, not quite as much as some Yogurtlands but enough where you’ll find a flavor that suits you. Samples are available upon request and the employees handle the frozen yogurt machines behind the counter. They prepare your cup for you and add on your choice of toppings and/or sauces. I love the fact their mochi is rainbow colored instead of plain white, therefore I think it tastes better. The penguin theme is a cute way to bring kids, families and individuals in. The place is creative and inviting which can’t be said about all yogurt shops. I look forward to going back again and trying additional flavors, I definitely believe this place is a keeper!

Saw this place on the way to Jamba Juice. Wanted to check it out… They have an awesome yogurt bar with lots of fruit/dry toppings. I had the mocha latte on ice and it was really good. Also tried out one of their freezer cups(about the size of a small sundae ~6oz) for $ 3.15. Really smooth and delicious. Definitely coming back to try out the dipping cones and their smoothies.

I wish Penguin’s had better flavors and variety. I understand that their gimmick is low fat yogurt, but maybe have a few regular flavors, too. In the end, low fat just means more sugar, so it’s not that much healthier. And why have three types of chocolate yogurt on the menu? So silly! How about some fruity flavors– at least they could carry a staple like strawberry! Furthermore, it’s pricey. $ 10 for two yogurts with Oreos sprinkled on top. Wow! Rated an extra star for the very friendly staff at this location! They make it worth it! Especially because this is the only yogurt shop in a few mile radius, so we take what we can get. We’ll definitely come back, out of convenience. But believe me, if there was a Yogurtland nearby, that would be our spot! Tip: Try the cotton candy dipped cone! White chocolate coating covered in condensed cotton candy bits! MMMMMNNNNNNN Gooooddd!

I was craving yogurt on a rainy LA evening and decided to stop in Penguins after dinner. This is more of a ice cream style place, because the yogurt isn’t self-serve. There were several pros and cons with this place, but overall it was just okay. Given the opportunity, I wouldn’t choose Penguins over my usual go-to places. Pros: Aside from yogurt, they serve ice cream, smoothies, and coffee. They have a wide array of toppings. There are several sugar free options for yogurt. The customer service was good and the employees offered us samples in order to choose what we wanted. They have many sizes to choose from. Cons: The quality of the yogurt was so-so. It tasted bland and sugary, and wasn’t what I was expecting. I ordered a pistachio flavored yogurt with a cookies and cream crumble on top. After a few bites, I couldn’t enjoy my yogurt anymore. If in the area, I may give this place another try in terms of the ice cream or smoothies. The set up is nice and there’s typically a lot of parking available in the shopping center.

Penguins is a happy slice of my childhood and brings back such fond memories of my family going to their location in Granada Hills and then as an adult me finding another location in Northridge to take my son to for a few years before thinking they were completely extinct. As kids, we loved coming here and I had just recently mentioned it and found out there is still a location around. I was a bit skeptical to try them because I wasn’t sure it would be the same old Penguins I had come to love but decided to give it a whirl with a back up dessert plan in place. This South Pas location is great, it’s larger than any other I’ve been to and set up a bit more café style. They serve Peets Coffee and I was very happy with my go-to selection Original Vanilla with Snow Caps. I’d definitely recommend this location to anyone who loved Penguins and hasn’t been in a long time. I look forward to returning.
