A great 5 star restaurant, great service, great food, my favorite is the basil chicken. Many great menu items, sushi bar best I’ve ever seen!

I have been going here for over a year. I have been eating sushi twice a week during that time. This place is great. The fish is really fresh and the portions and prices can’t be beat. It is by far the best around.

I had the pad thai, pad see ew, and gyoza. The pad see ew and gyoza were alright. The pad Thai was the worst flavorless pad Thai I’ve ever had, but maybe it was my fault for hoping for decent Thai food in South Orange.

Go there pretty often and have very good experience. Last night had the«Foxy Lady» roll and the«Seton Roll» — both were totally delicious! Also like their pad thai(but it’s best to eat rice noodles in the restaurant, not as takeout). Love having this place right in town.

We order takeout from here pretty regularly, maybe every third Friday night. The food is good in your pan-Asian way. Most things taste uniformly like soy sauce or some variety thereof, but the drunken noodles are satisfyingly chewy. Noodle dishes can be prepared spicy, medium, or mild. Spicy hasn’t been a painful experience. The sushi is cheap and the edamame edible, but slightly under-salted. There’s a crispy chicken option(I can’t recall the name) that is pretty much what you’d expect in a place that has mostly non-Asian customers – some kind of fried saucy orange chicken/general tso’s chicken chimera. It’s good as long as you’re not looking for authenticity or comparing to real Chinese or Japanese food(I can’t speak for authentic Thai). If ordering out, you have the option either to place a call(and presumably pay on arrival) or to register with a third-party website and order/pay through that. We’ve always done the latter with no hitches, and the food is generally packaged and ready to go in at least 20 minutes. The restaurant itself looks nice in a non-expensive-date-night kind of way. It’s dimly lit and upholstered in rich colors, and as it’s on Village Place there’s a parking lot right in front if you need it.

Went last night for my son’s birthday and had a so-so experience & it was quite up and down honestly. We arrive before 9 p.m. & were told they close at 10 and they certainly we’re in a rush to get out of there. Our server was clearly new and made several rookie mistakes like forgetting to bring utensils, forgetting to refill our drinks, & forgetting to put in parts of our order but all of that is ok and can be overlooked. The food itself was quite tasty so from that aspect alone they earned high marks. They even brought out a free platter of fried oreos and whipped cream to mark my sons bday so that was nice. Parking is very tough, no street parking was left so we had to park down the block in a municipal lot. However the kicker for me was on the way out before we finished and even paid our bill they were mopping the floors already. Considering I had my elderly mother with me that spelled near disaster as she has trouble walking as it is never mind maneuvering through a wet floor. I just felt they were more concerned with getting out of there and sure enough we did get out by a quarter to ten. 3 out of 5 stars

Solid sushi spot turning out consistent rolls on a regular basis. Friendly staff and casual atmosphere makes this the go to place for just about any roll you want.

I gave 2 star because aside from not being impressed at all by my plate of pad Thai, the service was at least good. I wish I’d take a photo, but the pad Thai was no different than lo mein from a Chinese restaurant. The noodles were dry, lack flavor, and I had to send it back because it wasn’t hot. Disappointing,. My friend enjoy his sushi however, perhaps Thai just isn’t Pandang’s thing.

I had high expectations for this place but they were not met. My friend had rice noodle dish with veggies. The veggies were raw the noodle was tough and rubbery and it was in all weird shapes, like scraps had been made out of the noodle dough. It lacked flavor and the greens were bitter. My pad thai was cold, bland, and tasted old. Nothing tasted fresh. I was highly dissapointed. I asked the waitress if my friend could swap out her dish for something else but we were told that’s how the dish is and we shouldn’t have ordered something we don’t like. Plates and cups weren’t clean either. Never again.

Pandang is solid. I’m a little surprised by the disparate reviews here, but I guess you can’t please everyone. As a non-Asian American(read: white boy), perhaps I don’t have the discerning palate of some diners or maybe it’s just that I don’t hold places like this to the same standard as others have. Whatever the case may be, though I’m often wary of Pan-Asian restaurants that serve a little bit of everything, I found Pandang to be quite enjoyable. It sounds like the sushi here is good, but we had Thai. Will have to try the sushi next time. Between us, we tried the tom yum soup, drunken noodles and pad Thai. The soup and drunken noodles were very good, full of flavor and pretty spicy(which I like). The pad Thai was fairly pedestrian but serviceable, though I’ll admit, it’s not really my thing. Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the food and whether it’s «authentic» or not, I liked it and will definitely order from them again.

I’m very picky about my sushi, but Pandang hits the spot every time! Not once have I had a bad experience or ordered something that didn’t taste good. Jenny is a delight and definitely gets to know her customers. The lunch special and dinner prices are average to the rest of the area. My favorite dish has to be the Pineapple Fried Rice. I don’t think I have ordered this dish anywhere else and enjoyed it more. One order is enough for two people. I usually go for their basic rolls, but never in the last few months that I’ve been ordering from Pandang have I had a bad roll. My favorite are the Spicy Salmon and the Spicy Crab rolls. Pandang is one of a few sushi places in the area and you might miss this hidden gem, but seek it out. You won’t regret it!

Enjoyed lunch here and recommend it to anyone looking for reasonable and good Thai food. We had the lunch special which included soup or salad. The cashew nut chicken was flavorful and contained a reasonable amount of chicken and cashew – they don’t skimp on the cashew. Veggies were fresh as well as the rice. Service was fast and establishment is clean.

I’ve been here a handful of times and I could only attest for the sushi never had the Thai food but when I see it in other tables it looks appetizing… So I usually get my usual, salmon and tuna rolls and the pizza roll which is to die for is so delicious… Everything taste so good and fresh. the service depending on the day could be fast or slow… Either way the waitresses are very attentive… 1 thing that I like about sushi restaurants is that the sushi is prepared right in your face and this spot passes the test and it’s very clean.

Pandang is awesome. Their menu has lots of different options and everything i’ve had so far was delicious. I’ve ordered take out and dined in and the food was consistently good every time. The employees are very nice. I was able to enjoy a conversation with the woman up front when waiting for my take out order.

This place has the best lunch deal. The sushi is the best quality I’ve ever run across in America and the portions are generous. Before I got pregnant I loved the tuna rolls and spicy salmon rolls. It’s $ 8.50 for two generous rolls. Now that I can’t eat raw fish I love the crispy oyster roll, and fried white fish roll. They often substitute smoked salmon for me without extra charge since they know I can’t eat raw fish. The waitresses are mostly sweet but occasionally it seems like they are rushing you out…

Maybe it was an off night because this place got a lot of good reviews and I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. The quality of the garlic white tuna appetizer we ordered was fishy and mushy and not what it looked like on the pictures on Unilocal. My bf ordered mango chicken, which was essentially made with a sweet and sour sauce. I went with panang chicken curry, which ended up tasting and looking a lot like yellow curry. I can best explain the quality of the chicken like Chinese take out chicken. It was flat and tasteless with a rubbery texture. When a different server came by to see if we were finished or we wanted to pack things and I had said I didn’t like the food and there was no need to pack it, there was no response but«ok». I will say that a hostess/manager came by to see how the food was after it had come out and I said it was ok because the flavor was actually decent. Hope this helps!

As a «poor» college student I have to say that Pandang is usually one of my go-to places to eat out with friends. I usually get the chicken pad thai but lately I will get the spicy coconut chicken soup. The service is very good and you never wait too long for your food! The staff is very polite and the manager Jenny is very friendly and polite to everyone. I would also recommend their«Godzilla roll» which was pretty filling and savory!

I’m always a bit leery of pan-asian establishments due to my belief in «jack of all trades, master of none.» Pandang so far does ok. Overhard the service staff talking in Chinese, which, if it reflects the management, would be funny given the food they are(and are not) serving. Even before hearing the staff talk, I knew the food wouldn’t be authentic after sampling two Thai dishes. It is hard to describe but authentic Thai food has a precise flavor that is due to proper uses of spices, sauces, peanuts and cooking style. The taste of the Thai dishes were more akin to Chinese takeout(good takeout, but still takeout) with overtones of salty/soy sauce-like flavors rather than the mildly sweet, slow chili burn that should be characteristic of dishes like Pad Thai. Like I said, good, just not authentic. Service was very nice and friendly.

Atmosphere in front room wasn’t ideal, so if I returned I’d ask to be seated in the back. I don’t know if it’s any different but it’d be worth a shot. The food was quite good. Sushi rolls were huge portions and my friend enjoyed both of the orders she got. I got spring rolls which weren’t the best I’ve had but they were good enough. The chicken with string bean entrée was very flavorful. Interestingly, I get this regularly at various thai restaurants and I’ve never seen it with so many beans. I suppose personal preference would dictate if you think this is a good thing or a bad thing, but it was fine with me. Overall, a good meal and with(comparably) easy parking I’d recommend it.

This place was just ok. Food is alittle tailored to american tastes but that’s ok in its own right Service was good spot on, no issues Massaman curry was a little too sweet and had no heat at all. Udon was very simple, nothing special. Overall this would be one of the places you’d go if there was no other pan-asian restaurant in sight. Also prices are not cheap.
