I feel cheated! I ordered a Beef dish which was priced at $ 18 and it consisted of three small cubes of beef, two halves of a small potato, and two halves of a tomato in a red curry sauce. It was 45 bites of food for close to $ 20. I called back and explained that the price and quantity for this dish is completely unacceptable. The manager did not care at all that I was unsatisfied. He did not offer to make it up to me in any way. He simply called me back after speaking to his«owner’s son» and explained that the quantity is correct and due to the lengthy process of making their sauce, the price is justified. I have never felt so cheated and I want everyone to know that while some of their food doesn’t suck, they are cheap people who only care about the bottom line and could not care less about customer satisfaction. Don’t waste your time or your money. Go to Khun Thai or Thai House(both in Millburn) where the food is excellent and they pride themselves on a pleasant experience and strong customer satisfaction. Disappointed and Cheated!

Never left this spot with a disappointed tummy. I recommend the Goong Gra Bog(deep fried shrimp), Pad Gaprow(beef with basil sauce), and Neau Yang(Thai beef bbq). All three were delicious to the palate. More so if you were to top them off with a nice glass of Thai Iced Tea.

Husband and I were starving and so that may have clouded our judgment. The food was good. Average. We had the curry puffs to start — these had very little filling and I know this is probably my OCDness but I hate when appetizers come out in odd numbers. Three puffs were bought out — there’s two of us — know what I mean? Husband had a sweet and sour chicken dish and he loved it and ate practically everything which he never does. I ordered beef pad Thai — I’ve had better. It was lacking flavor and there wasn’t a lot of beef. The ambience was soothing. Our waitress was nice but she never asked if we wanted drinks. Never asked if we liked the food — she just seemed uninterested — that’s fine though. Because Husband liked the food we’ll probably go back if we find ourselves in the area again.

This is such an amazing place for Thai food! Everything I ordered was absolutely perfect in different ways. The restaurant is not so big, but it is definitely the best choice for a small meeting dinner or lunch. This is my favorite Thai food place in all around.

I was there with a client and had a grilled fish which was uneatable. His dish was also very disappointing. I do not know if coincidently we both ordered the worst dishes but when a restaurant has only one additional table occupied at 6:30PM it should tell you something.

My husband faulted me for giving only 2 stars. I thought it was ok, not great. I’ve eaten similar meals at other Thai restaurants which I thought were better. We started with cold beef salad. The meat was chewy, the salad was wimpy. My chicken in garlic with vegetables came with cold not hot brown rice. The dish was not very tasty. My husband enjoyed his basil chicken. The service was fine.

This place used to be called«Open the Sesame» which I missed and can’t help but compare my experience with the previous restaurant. The former owner was there all the time and would introduce himself and ask the customers what food they would lime to see on the menu. There was a Zen atmosphere before the renovation for the«Thai Amarin». Thai Amarin offers good Thai food, food that you will expect from a Thai restaurant, BYOB which is good. The place is good but missing a little bit of character. I go to Thai Amarin for pick up or sit down, you can’t go wrong with their Shrimp Pad Thai, satay, crispy frid whole fish are the classics that I order. This place is located on a small plaza with a lot of parking.

Love love this Thai Place… I have a Thai place in Summit but this is theeeeee best. Drunkin Noodle sooo goood mmmmmmm! Also the peanut sauce is sooo amazing. People love it so much after time they now sell it in their own bottles haha which is pretty cool.

Unable to find a fault with my dining experience here tonight. Wait staff were attentive and polite throughout our visit and were more than happy to make both suggestions and answer questions my wife had. Eventually helped her to make a decision and she really enjoyed her food. I had the red chicken curry and have to say I really enjoyed it. Just the right amount of chicken to vegetable ratio and the spice factor was just right as well. I had read that someone thought them expensive, but to be honest at $ 13.95 for an entrée I couldn’t agree less. Great value, great food and even though I’m sat in the restaurant writing my review, I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Stopped for recommended by another reviewer the Drunken Noodles were outstanding. The relatively fast services due to a quit lunch services was a plus for me. Does anyone else get chaffed by $ 2 charges for soda refills? That may be my person beef. All in all you could be in and out in 30 with a happy belly.

I’m lucky to have lived in a city that had a wide selection of Southeast Asian restaurants, including Thai. Outside of Morris Thai, this is probably the only other Thai restaurant I’ve eaten at. It’s located on the far left corner of the plaza shared with Gold Valley supermarket. Service: My group was the only one eating inside – no other customers. Thus, service was pretty spot on. The guy who took our orders was great – didn’t say a single word but was always looking after us. Hoy Joa($ 7.95): It’s described as a fried shrimp-crab-chestnut sausage. Those familiar with Chinese-Filipino Kikiam/Que Kiam would find this to be similar. At its price and the fact that it only comes with five or six pieces along with a small salad, I wouldn’t recommend this. It tastes like fried seafood with a little«meatiness» from the minced seafood packed in it. Great for picture – sure. Great appetizer to share? Uh, no. Drunken Noodles($ 8.95): Also known as Pad Kee Mao, Thai Amarin’s recipe is pretty good. In fact, I wouldn’t mind ordering this again if I end up eating here for a second time. The portions were just right and the dish was presented nicely. The spiciness is more of a «non-Asian» heat – I found it pretty mild. Overall, I enjoyed their Pad Kee Mao and recommend it for those who don’t know what to order. «Noodle Soup(Beef)»($ 9.95): Based on the picture someone uploaded, this is basically their Thai Boat Noodle. Is it? A few familiar ingredients, notably the beef meatballs and a little spiciness, were present but the taste overall wasn’t close. Based on the Hoy Joa appetizer, we were expecting a pretty small bowl of noodle soup – that ended up being the case. It’s a good dish, but nothing really stood out.

(2.25 Stars) Almost three years ago I wrote a Unilocal review of Thai Amarin within their first week or two of opening. The gist of that review cited: PRO’s: A warm, comfortable and visually interesting dining room, in stark contrast to the parade of restaurants previously at this address; Very nice ownership and staff who were, perhaps due to their inexperience, trying so hard that their efforts detracted from the dining experience; CON’s: Bland, yet inoffensive, kitchen product. Noted in particular were a complete aversion to chili heat in food ordered«medium hot;» Profoundly imbalanced attention to the four pillars of Thai seasoning(sweet, sour, spicy and salty), yielding dishes which lacked the satisfying depth of authentic Thai cuisine; Sufficient misalignment between menu descriptions and the product served to question whether the kitchen had both attention and passion directed to their work. Those who read my Unilocal reviews(thank you!) know that I’m not one of the«4 – 5 stars, by default» majority. For this review I deliberated long and hard whether to issue a «polite» 3 star review, or take the path of a candid review, in the hope that a new restaurant venture might find some constructive guidance. Ultimately, integrity(both theirs and mine) prevailed, and a 1 star review resulted. For several months, dozens of obvious«shill reviewers,» each with new Unilocal accounts and/or fewer than 3 Unilocal reviews pounded at my review, and me personally. Unilocal graciously stepped-in to remove the majority of these«shill reviews.» Their acrimony and deceit, has kept us away from Thai Amarin ever since. Yesterday evening that curfew was lifted, and its review now follows a rather lengthy preamble. Thai Amarin has continued its work in creating a décor which is quite beautiful and warm. Our server wasn’t exactly exuding the same warmth or personality, but was thorough, attentive and competent. The annoying hovering and meal interruptions were greatly reduced to an acceptable standard of professional service. My wife and I shared one appetizer(Goong Gra Bog; «A10») and two entrees(Shrimp Pad Thai; «N1», and Ped Rad Prig; «D1»). Both entrees were ordered«medium hot,» as they were almost three years ago. Although some decry Pad Thai as a common street food, it is frequently acknowledged by many who know Thai cuisine well as an accurate barometer of how well a kitchen grasps the subtle balance between the four«pillar flavors» of the cuisine. Kitchen service, with two other tables occupied, was perfectly acceptable, and without unreasonable delay. Each offering arrived hot and nicely plated, further evidence that ownership clearly understands the aesthetic portion of operating a quality Asian eatery. Portions were ample, neither stingy, nor excessive. Although menu pricing has risen, the price value(before discussing the food itself) is still very good. Goong Gra Bog: Described by the menu as «deep fried shrimp stuffed with minced scallop and wrapped in rice paper, served with sweet chili sauce,» there was no minced scallop to be found. The sweet chili sauce was a monotone and poorly mixed blend of mirin(corn syrup and rice vinegar) and chili paste. Despite these demerits, the appetizer was a tasty 3-star offering. Ped Rad Prig: «Crispy boneless duck topped with basil and lime leaves in a chili and garlic sauce.» The deep fried duck was, despite a very few bone fragments, very competently de-boned, then fried to the perfect balance between very crispy skin and moist, tender meat. The dish was served atop a generous bed of Thai basil and kaffir lime leaves; a unique and very welcomed presentation. With a bit of sautéed garlic now added, the mirin and chili paste concoction returned in this dish. Fortunately, the Ped Rad Prig was neither over-sauced, nor weak in its flavor profile to not rise well above this addition. Thai Amarin’s Ped Rad Prig is borderline-excellent; a solid 4.25 to 4.50 star entrée. Shrimp Pad Thai: Frankly, I really don’t know what to say here, as in many regards, last night’s rendition evidenced the clear observation that this staple dish of Thai cuisine still escapes the Thai Amarin kitchen. On the plus side, a generous portion of large and perfectly-cooked prawns accented the dish(well worth the $ 2.00 shrimp surcharge). Yet, the bean sprouts and ground peanuts promised by the menu seem to have taken the night off. Cayenne spiciness was to order, and the dish was acceptably sweet. Totally derailing any semblance of balance or depth-of-flavor were the absence of a salty element(Thai fish sauce is inexpensive) or souring agent(not even a lime wedge). The verdict: a very generous 2 stars, largely on the basis of the shrimp. Overall, and with the«learning curve» accomplished, Thai Amarin is «okay,» and potentially worth a return visit. That is, however, convenience and price talking– there are obviously better local Thai restaurants.

Review Purely on Restaurant Policy, Not Food. $ 25 Minimum on Delivery. Refused to Deliver for Less. My Office is 3 Blocks from The Restaurant. Inconsiderate Restaurant & Staff. Delivery is a service that is tailored to customer service and convenience. Restaurants offer it in recognition that people would like to have delicious food in situations when other priorities are of greater importance. In my mind, offering delivery is a all or nothing ball game. You offer it, no minimums, put on your reasonable delivery fees, give a driver a job, and get a great reputation for spreading your food around the area. People try your food and you tell them to come in if they get the opportunity. Everyone wins. If you don’t delivery, no harm, you’re focused on sitting down and a full restaurant experience, and your food doesn’t travel well. Somewhere in the middle, offering delivery but only at the extreme price minimum so that it is worth you spending a gallon of gas and 10 minutes to bring your food to customers is simply inconsiderate and without concern for customer service. You are demonstrating the ability to deliver but lacking the element of customer service that finds restaurants reviewed on websites like Unilocal. In addition to this experience, I ventured over to this restaurant for lunch to see what this restaurant experience was like. We were seated, our server was great/very personable/approachable/quick to give suggestions and help and helped us move toward our order. Unfortunately, quick attention and speed wasn’t of the greatest concern which should be with lunch. The meal orders got mixed up. I expected an immediate remedy because we were hitting the 45 minute mark on a lunch place that is 5 minutes away. Remedy didn’t come until the later tables in the place got their food. My lunch company had finished their meal far beforehand and we were considerably late back to work. If this is the type of restaurant experience that I should forego ordering delivery for, I would suggest avoiding this place altogether. References for other Thai places in the area:

Reliable local Thai restaurant. Drunken noodles are their best dish. Nice staff and pleasant, quiet atmosphere. Voice your preferences for spice levels, especially if you like spicier food than most nonAsians. Some dishes can be a little too salty. Fair prices. I generally have liked the entrees and salads better than the appetizers. Big parking lot – next to a supermarket, so somewhat hard to spot in the corner – and BYO. Note bargain lunches and Monday-Thusday dinners.

I had high hopes for this place so it pains me to write this review. Was really tempted by the Mon-Thurs dinner special. $ 15-$ 16 for meal set that comes with appetizers(Shumai, spring roll and another item), salad(with peanut sauce), Tom yum soup(best part of the meal), your choice of entrée and ice cream(coconut). Service was really cold and temperature was really cold as well. We were the second table in the entire restaurant. For a Thursday night, I thought that’s pretty sad. It took at least 30 minutes to get our entrée. That’s eternity when you are super hungry. And come on, we were pretty much the only table left — is the waiter also the chef here? No apologies whatsoever from the waiter. Actually she just avoided us altogether the entire night except when she was dropping off our food. The food was okay, had better, and the portions are on the smaller side. And no you didn’t get to choose your ice cream flavor — coconut only. And no thank you either. We were the only ones giving them business that night and I think that was our last time. Because dinner took so long, we didn’t get to go to Seabra since they closed by the time we left.
