I had many awesome grub sessions here after snowboarding at Heavenly throughout the past decade. Portions always huge, good value for the money, really convenient to the gondola and village entrances. Definitely recommend. The burritos were top-notch.

Very bland and not tasteful at all. The pork burrito had a lot of fatty pieces and the chips were stale

$ 7 chicken burrito had a good mix of chicken, rice, tomatoes, cheese, and lettuce. Pretty basic fare, but quick and filling. 3920 is the correct address — not 3923!

Bland, cold, expensive. $ 16 for a burrito and nachos and they were terrible. Nachos especially. Find somewhere else.

It was late on a Thursday night and everything else was closed. Although this shop should have been closed as well, the staff were nice enough to let all of us dine in. With that said, I can’t really say if we were able to taste Taco Taqueria’s best. It was late, so they weren’t cooking fresh food. I ordered two carnitas tacos with a side of mexican rice. The tortillas had a nice texture and tasted fresh and the carnitas meat was juicy and flavorful. However, the rice was fairly crunchy and dry and got stuck in my teeth during the chewing process. We were all fairly satisfied with our meal and left thinking good things about the place. The next morning, was a different story. Half of us who ate there had stomach aches and frequent visits to the bathroom — nothing serious, but uncomfortable enough. Despite that, we all said it was worth it and would eat there again if need be. In the future, it’s probably best to visit this place during normal dining hours.

Ate here the morning of Jan 6th, Chile Verde, rice and beans for me, and Chile Relleno, rice and beans for my wife. Food was actually pretty good as expected for a Taqueria shop, counter service was quick and easy. Staff was friendly and pleasant to deal with, they also provided all the salsa that I needed as well as soda refills. I will go there again.

A hole in the wall type of place. There were about 8 people inside and the place probably had room for 8 more, and about ½ were hispanic which I always think is a good thing at a mexican food place. I was skeptical so I went with a burrito since who can mess that up? They were all priced around 7 bucks. I had a carnitas burrito and my wife got the chile verde burrito. They were short and fat and probably weighed a pound each. I was pleasantly surprised cuz with the stupid name of the place, I thought we were doomed for sure. The meat was average, There was melted cheese mixed in with the rice(which was kind of weird, but OK tasting), raw white onion with a bit of cilantro, and I liked the tortilla(the big doughy kind). They only gave us two little cups of salsa for 2 big burritos which sucked since the entire salsa container covered about 1⁄10th of the burrito. I will try it again if I am super hungry and too lazy to go anywhere else.

First off, I have to comment on the name, Taco Taqueria. Really, that’s what you came up with? its like calling a pizza joint, Pizza Pizzeria. Illiteracy aside, I was less then impressed with the food here. My super al pastor burrito was just okay. Any time that I see that lettuce comes standard in a burrito I get a little worried. Needless to say that it was lacking in the flavor department. My carnitas taco was pretty much just rough cuts of pork on a flavorless tortilla. The prices were decent and the place was fairly clean. Also the staff was pretty friendly as well. However if I am in the mood for Mexican in SLT I am going to hit Jalisco.

Lets just say my mom is picky with the cleanliness of what she eats. So when she agreed to try this dirty taqueria, I was taken aback. I think it’s because my dad was starving us all day and it was the last chance she’d have for a meal. Usually a dirty taqueria is a good thing, but in this case not so much. The meat was bland and luke-warm(think steam trays), and the salsa and chips were mediocre. I got a little cup of their hot sauce, and it was hot, but bitter and flavorless. One star on the food but a bonus star because the guy behind the counter was super nice, and didn’t give us shit about the Coors lights we brought in.

I put people in two categories… Those who abide by the 5 second rule and brush off the skittle after it’s fallen on the ground and those who carry around a bottle of antibacterial hand sanitizer. Let’s just say I was with some people in the latter category when I first visited Taco taqueria. I waited outside while my two friends, who shall remain nameless, went inside to check it out. After about 30 seconds they both came running out saying, «let’s go to applebee’s.» That should’ve been my first clue I was dealing with some panzy food types. Anyways… Ashamed, I moved on and regretted it until this past weekend. While this place looks sparse inside, it was right on par with any place in the mission or south bay(health code speaking). The food, however, could use some help. Overall, the rito I got was decent. The ingredients were all perfect, it was in the assembly where something went wrong. The tortilla was a bit too«thick» for my liking. The carnitas were AWESOME as was the spanish rice. I also applaud the use of raw white onions which are a personal favorite but let’s just say the south lake tahoe strippers didn’t appreciate the onion breath later in the evening. The reason the rito wasn’t 4 or 5 star worthy was because I got ingredient bombed. What is this? It’s when you get an entire bite of one or two ingredients. It’s when the rito artisan doesn’t adequately spread the ingredients in a decent proportion. Not really a rookie maneuver but cmon Taco Taqueria, you’re better than that. Regardless…this place is good and I will be back. I still need to try out the 6 – 7 other Mexican places in south lake but I will be back to this place for sure. Also, the staff… SUPER friendly. All«sides» are extras so beware.

It didn’t feel right eating a burrito outside of San Francisco. As oenophiles refuse an overrated Burgundy, with contempt, is how I feel about a non– San Francisco Mission burrito. I have met SF burrito nay sayers, they probably view with contempt when I tweak my filler ingredient ratios with Spanish offensively accented. But still, far and wide, The City is known for its burritos, and I embrace this as part of my personal heritage. But forced to grab a quick lunch in a very congested holiday Tahoe, led us to trust a San Diegan that this was the real deal. I ordered a burrito, and just to give them no easy outs didn’t go for the usual tantalizing sour cream and guac I love. My burrito was incredible, even compared to a Ocean Taqueria Burrito that I have customized to my taste buds. At this place the meat and the fillers were so correctly seasoned and married in the fresh tortilla with unsung skill. They don’t know how to wrap a burrito, which just further solidifies their authentic Mexican roots! As I was leaving, I watched a labour intensive kitchen staff for a while, and though I didn’t know what they were doing, I then knew why it was so damn good.
