T.J. Maxx

T.J. Maxx is the most fabulous store in South Lake, very very clean and well organized. The staff always very friendly and so eager to help you find what your looking for. The section is over the top, for all your great finds, it’s like a treasure hunt, so much fun.T.J.Maxx is a great addition to Tahoe. Spotless and well organized, and really, the only place in town selling sheets and towels, and luckily of decent quality! In a cabin rental community, there are no other retailers selling bedding?! And I bought a few extra outfits for the week vacation and all under $ 250! Good finds here!

Very clean store. Spaced out. Not cluttered like others I’ve been in. Will definitely go here everytime I come to Tahoe.

Easily the cleanest, best organized TJMaxx I’ve ever been in! Helpful sales people that answer questions when you have them, and eager to show you were the sales rack is. I went there twice this weekend: once to see the deals, and once to go back and grab them on my way out of town.
Only small negative is that their selection is a little lower than a large, urban TJMaxx but it had everything I needed and/​or wanted at that moment.

It is a decent TJ Maxx. Pretty clean, pretty big…
They do have lots of San Francisco Giants gear that is really affordable.
It is a good place to pick up some clothes or small items if you are visiting the area and forgot something.

SHOPPING for SUNGLASSES: I came in here from out of town looking for some sunglasses. I ended up buying some Calvin Klein sunglasses with an aviator design for $ 19.99. They were reduced in price for sure, but I didn’t mean to spend that much on a pair of sunglasses. It was because the cheaper sunglasses did not look good on me (and I’m skeptical if they would look good on anybody). I wish they had more of a selection.
GLOVES: My friends came in with me to look for gloves for children for the snow. Unfortunately they didn’t have any, which I was surprised since it’s February and winter and in South Lake Tahoe.
STAFF: One other person was checking out so a girl helped me at the very end. She already knew what my total would be even before scanning the item for the final price. She handled the sunglasses very delicately and handed them to me and said so they don’t get scratched. I thought that was nice of her.
OVERALL: store was quite empty and quiet for a Saturday afternoon. Ample parking outside in the lot.

This tj max was the highlight of my trip to tahoe. It was comparable to others and gave me something to do in this boring shopping free town.

Looking to encounter ladies with sweater wearing dogs in carts? This is your place.

I called ahead of time to make sure that they were still open at 9PM. The automated system gave me all their holiday hours: Saturday (the day I went in) 9:30 AM to 10:00PM. I arrived at the store at around 9:20 and shopped around for a couple minutes before a lady called to me from an aisle away that I had two minutes left before they closed. I told her that I had called before and that the reported closing time was 10:00PM, she shook her head and told me «No, we’re closing at 9:30» with no reason as to why and also spoke very rudely with an attitude.
Thinking that I had heard incorrectly, I called the same number again, making sure that it was the right location, and again heard 10 PM as the closing time. Confused, I decided to head up to the register to confirm this, and also to figure out when would be a good time to come tomorrow. The lady up front at the register was much more polite about it, but again, did not offer me a reason as to why they were closing early, nor did I get an apology for any inconvenience it could have caused me.
Overall the store offers a good selection in women’s apparel and accessories, didn’t get a good look at the other sections since I was limited on time.

The T J Maxx in South Lake Tahoe is a lot smaller that what I’m used to back at home but we were able to find a few really good deals. I prefer this place over Ross; it’s a lot cleaner, has a bigger selection, and is much more organized. Because it was small it took us literally less than 15 minutes to walk the whole place. Staff was friendly and helpful though.

TJ Maxx has higher prices than Ross, but it’s cleaner, more organized, and has higher name brands. It’s great that south lake has this as an option. If you forgot to bring a swim suit, this is the place to go. I just love that this is here. Clean bathrooms too!

A smaller but nice enough TJ Maxx which opened up last year — I think it’s sucking away business from the laughable outlet mall around the corner from their location. Some areas of the store are a little lacking in inventory, but still, you gotta remember this is a small town, so you’re lucky you’ve got this and Ross’s down the street. Good for browsing and buying home decoration and clothes.

This store is pretty clean, and organized! Great selection of items, and again, well organized! Good customer service :)

I’ve been wanting to check this place out while visiting Tahoe and I’m glad I got the chance before I left.
I came in to browse around and made my way through most of the store. I like all the cute things home goods they had to offer and they also had a good selection of women’s jackets.
I finally made my way to the mens jeans and was happy to find my husband a pair of 7 bootcut jeans and a pair of AE khaki shorts.
My total purchase came to $ 46 with tax included and it was a really great buy. Who would’ve thought I was going to find exactly what I’ve been needing on my vacation! Awesomeness!
I highly recommend this Tjmaxx for anyone wanting to get their shopping fix!

I love this TJMaxx. The Twin and I always shop here. She hardly ever leaves the store without buying something. So many cute outfits were bought here! I like rummaging through the shoe and home section. It’s clean and friendly. It’s a nice addition for South Lake Tahoe for sure!

Tj Maxx is a great addition to South Lake Tahoe! With no shopping in town what’s so ever, I go to Tj Maxx pretty often.
A city girl like me in a small town, mosdef would make Tj Maxx their go to place to shop! I appreciate this particular one so much! I may even call it love at first sight!
I don’t always leave here with some great finds, but that never discourages me from shopping here. The workers here are nice and helpful. It’s pretty neat and organized. They tend to keep everything in the right places. Makes shopping easier. Some Tj Maxx stores can be such a headache going into, but not this one! They do a good job at tidying up! Especially, with all the people rummaging through here. I love buying bedding from Tj Maxx! Great quality and great prices! Love all of their décor and throw pillows too! They carry tons of cute and trendy items.

This TJ/​s is the most organized, clean, store I’ve been in. I have been in them all in n. ca and nev. too. The staff are very helpful and nice, who ever manages this store needs to be promoted to over see every TJ and use this store as a model, for every store to strive to become.

Having forgotten to pack a sweater (stupid mistake) for my recent Tahoe trip, I figured I’d come to TJ Maxx to look for a cheap sweater that’ll keep me nice and warm during the weekend, but was left pretty dissatisfied and a bit cold. Their Men’s selection was very very limited. There seemed to be more for kids and women than Men’s.

Smaller TJ Maxx than what I was used too and it did seem a tad on the messier side. It was pretty crowded when I went maybe because it was a 3 day weekend and it was a great location since it was at a busy intersection.

This place just opened up and is a life-​saver out in here in Tahoe. I got a great-​looking faux leather jacket from Guess, two sweater/​jackets and a shirt for around $ 100. T.J. Maxx gets new shipments in regularly, so styles stay fresh. Much preferred shopping here than getting robbed at the boutiques closer to the casinos.
Plenty of parking plus easy on-​easy-​off.
