Sunshine Yellow Cab

I have taken yellow cabs for years. Never had a bad exoerience. The only company that is truly ²⁴⁄₇. i would recommend yellow over any other.

Frank arrived within just a few moments of my call, and was a safe and pleasant driver. I appreciate courteous service, including his tips when I asked about area restaurants. Would definitely use again.

Had to add a star to write this review otherwise I wouldn’t have added anything.
Called this cab service and they said they would pick us up soon — they never showed up or called us.
They are the reason why Über and Lyft will take over.

Harvey was my driver for 2 trips during my stay at Tahoe, and he is simply the coolest guy ever. He’s super reliable and provided us with such great service. What more could you ask for in a taxi driver!!! It made me kind of sad during our last ride when we had to say bye to him because he became such a friend :’(
I really enjoyed talking to him and listening to his stories to keep us entertained during our rides. He even gave us his personal card and always arrived in no time.
The guy who picks up the telephone sounded pretty rude though. Always gave an attitude when I asked for basic information. But Harvey made up for all of it. Thanks Harv!

Had the worst experience over New Years Eve!!! Called both the CA number and the NV number continuously for 90 minutes and no one even picked up my phone call! Eventually had to call our hotel and have them send a car for us. We used this taxi service all week long, and they were usually nice enough, although they all complained every time you wanted to use a credit card instead of giving them cash — sketchy! I still do not understand why the cab company did not answer their phones that night and left people stranded. We could not walk — it was 2 degrees and a 20 minute drive. South Lake Tahoe needs to get Über and Lyft!!!

Use the black jack taxi instead! They actually have professional service.
Renee is the worst! His taxi number is #20 as of now and he didn’t make me feel secure at all since the moment I got in the taxi. I let him know where to take a turn and he didn’t make the turn and just said ‘I know where I am going I’ve lived here twenty years’ and he made my trip longer.
I didn’t have cash so after I got off I told him I’ll give him some cash and he literally got off his taxi and chased me I’m just a 20 yr old female. I was terrified.
A tip for everyone do not go into cab # 20 with a very dark skinned man. Very uncomfortable experience. Kept yelling at me and was very rude.
Call black jack taxi or a different company instead.

Driver pulled up in front of my house, got out of his car and urinated in the middle of the street… WTF?

Great service most of the time, but, they think they are your parents. 11/​08/​2015 called at 9:30 pm in the middle of a raging snowstorm and they said 9:45 pick up. Called at 9:50, said a few minutes. About 10 pm while I was outside waiting for the cab, said the cab arrived and I wasn’t there. So a person who recently broke a wrist had to walk about 15 minutes on slippery snow. Piece of sh! t asdh! le lying company.

They are all over the place on the Nevada side, so there was almost no wait anywhere we went. The drivers though were really not personable. We tried to make conversation and it just wasn’t happening.
Obviously you don’t have much choice on the Nevada side, but if their service improved at least they could improve their tips.
I was hoping Über would be here by now, but until then, I guess this is the option.

Up in Tahoe for Labor day week and unfortunately has some car trouble and needed a taxi.
Was lucky enough to get Frank The Cabby”. He was amazing. His cab was immaculate and he arrived before the estimated time. He took my entire family which includes 3 year old twins to our cabin and said give him a call in the morning when your car is ready. Sure enough I called and he was there within 5 minutes of the call. My kids were so excited that Frank was coming back. He even gave them each a «reward» for helping him with directions :) If I am ever in need of a cab again while in Tahoe, Ill be calling Frank. He works for Yellow Cab. Call him. (530) 318‑6571. driver 1 hour late and did not know where he was going TERRIBLE THIRD WORLD SERVICE

Dispatch was terrible. They tried to call us back 3 hours later after saying it would be a 30 minute wait. Completely ruined our night. If this is the taxi service here in tahoe. I cannot wait until UBER gets here. Worst service ever! And the worst part is you can only get yellow cab to a casino and that was our plan. Terrible

The driver himself was polite and fine. The fare was acceptable. Was waiting a couple of minutes more than I had hoped but I built in a few extra minutes so it was no big deal — disappointing though considering I gave ample advanced notice.
Dispatch, however? Rude and obnoxious. I called at about 2:10 asking if it would be possible to get a taxi at 2:45 because I had to be at an event at 3:00, sharp. Dispatcher, exasperated, said «man, I can’t tell the future» and «why don’t you just call when you need it?» before admitting «yeah, fine we’ll try it» before ever letting me get a word in. Sorry, I didn’t realize it was so inconvenient for me to throw some business your way — and that I thought the business you were in was to give people rides at the times they needed rides. He then proceeded to ask me my room number, and then tell me I had better be «looking for it [the cab], cause nobody is gonna come knocking on your door for you.» Um, OK — this adult was planning to be downstairs but appreciate your tone.
If I wasn’t trying to iron my clothes and look decent in my suit, I would’ve called around looking for someone with a better attitude. Next time I won’t waste my time with this company.

These guys do a great job on quick pickups and are priced on a meter, always the best option in South lake.

Bo & Leczek are the two drivers who saved me from the casino scene when the bus was no longer running. Their professionalism is well worth the price of a ride across town & so polite! Chivalry isn’t dead in South Lake Tahoe thanks to these two gentlemen! The 1^st time I was stranded, a cab was ready to take me immediately! Tonight I waited less than 45 seconds (faster than one can withdrawal from an ATM) around 4:30 A.M. Plus both drivers & cabs smelled CLEAN!

I don’t understand the two star rating… I’ve been using this service for years, they are the only taxi company I have ever used in South Lake Tahoe, never had a problem. Always prompt and professional.

If I had a chance to review this place right away, it would get one star due to a completely unprofessional dispatch. Told me to call back when I was ready after I said I needed a cab in 30 minutes…
Unfortunately I was in a bind and needed this specific company again. Then I got «Frank The Cabby». He was incredibly professional and pleasant. He works for Yellow Cab. Call him. (530) 318‑6571. His hours are 6AM-​4PM. If he’s not available, go elsewhere.

I called in for a cab said man who answered said It was a 15−20mins wait then 40mins later I called back and the unprofessional man said «you might want to start walking» how unprofessional! (it’s snowing out !) I have never expired this before! Do not call this place ! I REPEAT do not call this place and give these people your money!!!

I don’t understand all of these bad reviews. We have been using these guys for over a year for trips to the grocery, out to eat or to the airport shuttle.
I actually make sure everyone who is traveling is ready to go before I call the taxi because they usually show up almost immediately. The only ‘bad’ experience I have had with them is once a driver was playing Rush Limbaugh, so we had to listen to that garbage for 10 minutes. Other than that — every trip has been normal/​cool.
I am wondering if these bad reviews aren’t from competitors.

I work for a business in Tahoe that sends out a lot of calls for cabs… Yellow cab is by far the absolute worst company to call. After years of dealing with this company I am finally writing a review.
I have dealt with rude and snappy dispatchers.
Having to call numerous times because they make people wait extended amounts of time when they claim it will be no more than 5 minutes.
Going whole nights having to deal with the company not answering their phones and getting turned away from other companies if it’s a NV to NV ride and having to explain that to unhappy customers…
Trying to ask questions for the customer like estimated wait time or pricing usually results in short confusing answers and being hung up on or simply no answer and being hung up on.
If you want a cab in the Stateline and South Lake Tahoe area I would very highly recommend you try one of the many other companies in town. If you have to deal with yellowcab though because of the limited licenses other cabs have in this town then I suggest getting the personal numbers from drivers so you don’t have to deal with dispatch hell.
