What a great day on the mountain. We are a family of 6 and needed rental skis and affordable tickets to ski Sierra Tahoe for the day. Fortunately we found Sunrise ski rentals. Kevin was one of the nicest, kind store owners, and made fitting our four young children a breeze. The equipment worked great, and was more affordable than all the other shops. We bought discount tix for Sierra and were on our way. We stayed until close and drop off was fast and easy. We won’t rent from any other shop after today’s experience. If your looking for good equipment, at an affordable price, with A-​class service then this is the place!

I started this review 3 years ago, about time I posted it. This place truly deserves 5 stars. Their prices were reasonable and their service was outstanding.
We got trapped in crazy traffic jam coming down from the mountains due to ridiculous amounts of snow. A car slid and traffic was simply not moving. My phone didn’t get signal, so we were panicked about not reaching the place in time to return our rentals.
Finally, my call got through and the lady that picked up was extremely nice and understanding. She told me not to worry, that she’d wait at the store for me to arrive. Note that it was already time for them to close and I was going to take at least another 25 – 30 minutes. She didn’t even hesitate and told me to just be careful and get there when I could.
So there, 3 years late but here is my thanks for that nice gesture.

Good friendly staff and a cheap place to rent helmets for youngsters hitting snow for the first time to do some sledding. They warned me about sno-​parks being boring (you can read my other reviews) and recommend other places.
I will remember this place and swing by for future rental needs.

I really enjoyed going with Sunrise Ski last winter ski season. Kevin was a very friendly, knowledgable guy and his staff were also really great. They got me fitted very quickly and out the door in 10 minutes flat. This was my go to shop because they have high quality rentals and the price was very reasonable (better than in the bay area). And Kevin even helped me with rentals during his off-​season for the last little bit of late snow. I will keep coming back to Sunrise because they made me a customer for life!

Great ski rental place. It costs $ 22 per day for skis, boots, and poles. They filled out my forms for me and the boots were super comfy. Get in, get out, and get skiing!
I updated the address. I hope they get more business and reviews now that it actually shows up in South Lake Tahoe. It is conveniently located and half the price of renting at the ski slopes.

I’ve relied on this place for years before I had kids, and, now that I have kids, I rely on them even more now. Since the change of ownership there is a new focus on making customers as happy as can be, and there is even more of a family atmosphere here.
You can rent sleds, skis, snowboards and even kids’ snow clothes. They have season rentals which are the best deal in town. The people at Sunrise just want you to have fun in the snow and make their best effort to ensure that happens.
After buying ski boots there for an incredible deal there recently, I figure it was time I gave them a shout out on Unilocal.Great job guys!

A friend recommended this place for a fast and seamless rental experience.
Two skis with goggles and shoes in less than twenty minutes. Expenses clearly explained and reasonable. Staff very patient, encouraging and tight knit.
Will recommend and will come again!

The gentleman who helped us rent out our snowboard and boots combo was awesome. It was 29 $ for both. We payed an extra 2 $ for insurance just because we rented it for our friend who is a new at snowboarding. He was really helpful in picking out the right length and boot size. I would definitely recommend this spot for anyone who has no idea what to get.
