If I can give the negative I’m sure I’ll do that. Every time I bought the Safeway big bread and ask staff to make their sandwich, sometimes only charged the regular sandwich price and the bread, sometimes they charged $ 1 dollar, but all it fine. This morning, when I bring the bread($ 1.99) and ask for make a sandwich, the old fucking lady name is aladm or something, I’m so mad that can’t remember her name, very rude. I just said“may I use it to do sandwich?!” She used the unpleasant mood to told me” that is for American, we have ours sandwich bread!” I said” but I do before several times” and she siad” so we will charge you $ 1 more also with the bread price!“ Also I said” I’m fine, you can do it“ After she started to make sandwich, she repeated four time for extra $ 1 dollars, I just feel really mad, I said I’m fine with the ONEDOLLARS!!! I’m so sorry are you too old too forget what i say? And she asked me do you want unions? I said yes! Then she put THREEPIECESOFUNIONONTHEBREAD! When I pointed that and ask for more Union, she just use the bad mood told me, ooh, that’s for another 1 dollars! I really want say dirty words but I stopped, I don’t want see the old face 1 more second, what the fuck! You only put the 3 poor onions and say more will charge? Hope God can bless you, even you’re so mean and rude.

Well I’ve been sitting on the return counter for about 15 minutes trying to return food past its sell by date. I’ve had employees walking past me with only glances. I think I might get their attention if I stand up and dance. I’m just leaving the food here and getting new stuff. Have fun here.

I love safeway. Their club prices are super super good. Self check out is nice and i LOVE how they are open 24⁄7. A couple things I do not like are that the workers in the deli are SO slow, I can hardly get anyone to help me. Another crappy thing is their lack of baby formula. They dont have enfamil :/oh well. Still a good store.

I’m posting my review in pictures because Unilocal does not give enough room for my review… But I wouldn’t even give them a star if Unilocal didn’t make me! And that’s sad because I love the Safeway that’s by my house!

Usually don’t review grocery stores but this was a fun time. The cashier Bobby was friendly and funny. It’s nice to see cashiers with a warm personality. We picked up the few items we couldn’t find at Grocery Outlet. I like the trinket souvenir selection. I will come back when I return to vacation.

It seems like there are two main reasons for visiting this Safeway: groceries and Starbucks. So I figured I’d review my experiences with both. Groceries: this is one of the worst Safeways I have ever been to. Two days In a row the checkout staff failed to check out the people in front of me without issue. As an example, the cashier today argued back and forth with the shopper about how some of his items were scanned and displayed an utter lack of professionalism. Nobody that works here seems to care about the customers and not once has anyone asked me if I needed help(the layout of this store is unlike one I’ve ever seen). All told, a really negative experience two consecutive days. Starbucks: the people working here are nice enough but they are very sloppy. The dairy station is covered with spilled creamer, sugar, and trash. Nobody seems to care about the way it looks. There always seems to be a line and the baristas can’t seem to keep up with the orders. Two days in a row it’s taken me 20+ minutes just to place an order, let alone receive it. Both of these experiences are really negative. Next time we come to Tahoe I will not be coming here.

I haven’t always had the most pleasant experience here but I have to shout out to one of their managers Terrii. She really is a shining star here, and exudes with the«customers first» attitude. She is always polite and as accommodating as possible. Takes care of problems quickly and makes things right for customers when they are unhappy. She has been one to change my attitude about shopping at this location.

Understaffed constantly for the 13 years I’ve lived here. Always 6 to 10 people waiting in the checkout lines that are open while there are up to 6 or more checkouts that they simply seem to refuse to open? Why did you put them in in the first place if you never intended to use them? I don’t get it? You are a company that relies on sales, I can’t tell you how many people I’ve seen leave Safeway with a loaded grocery cart but can’t wait for the slow checkout?

I am a local and live near Safeway. They never have enough checkers and this morning was the final straw. I had my groceries at the check out stand around 6:00AM. There was someone laying down mats, people were stocking shelves and would look at me but not acknowledge my presence. After 5 minutes of waiting, no one showed up at the open check stand I was at and I just left. Raley’s never has this problem and I recommend them if you do not want to deal with incompetence. I myself am done with Safeway.

So I’m giving it 2 stars because it has a good selection like most Safeways. Otherwise I would give 1 Star. However, I went shopping on a Sunday and Monday(not a busy weekend) and the lines to checkout were REDICULOUS! Only 3 lanes were open, NOEXPRESSLANESWEREOPEN. All 3x I was here in the last 2 days, lines were 20 people deep. Never did they call for backup checkers. REALLY?! The Sunday/Monday managers should be fired!

Customer service is poor. Cash registers are understaffed, one of four self checkout lanes was down. The lines were long and customers frustrated, meanwhile 3 staff members were interrupting the cashier to discuss schedules, etc. Another employee was instructing and somewhat scolding an émigré who clearly on his break, and she did it in front of customers sitting at the café. Trevor behind customer service desk had a bit of attitude. Professionalism, folks. Even if you are a grocery store. Always professionalism.

I came here looking for allergy medicine for my daughter and natural sunscreen(Alba in particular). They didn’t have children’s Zyrtec which is the kind she takes and they only had one natural sunscreen which was for babies. I ended up leaving empty handed. Mission failed at Safeway.

Always understaffed and service is terrible. If you like waiting in line for at least half an hour to buy a gallon of milk then come here. Consistently the worst grocery shopping experience in town.

Can’t say I’m a fan. For such a nice location, the staff is utterly horrid. The staff tend(in my opinion at least) look down upon customers using EBT cards. I had difficult time with the payment processing using EBT on one of the self-checkout machines. The lady who came up to me was totally rude from the get, and had a awful attitude. She made me feel like trash. I asked her a question(that she found«rude») regarding the payment option regarding EBT at the self-checkout, and I quote you: «I don’t know who you think your talking to like that but we don’t usually get many customers in here scrapping pennies out of there pockets with these cards – maybe if you paid in cash like normal people it would be another story, so please don’t get impatient with me hon.» See you next Tuesday! At this point, I am totally appalled. How dare I be shamed for using a EBT card. I spoke with the manager on the phone and the manager did not believe me saying that any staff would not say that– so OK, now I’m crazy? And bitch, don’t call me hon. You don not know me like that, sweetie. Also the severely disabled overweight woman with the thinning pixie cut working at the deli, is just as bad. I shouldn’t be lectured for thirty minutes in line, with a repetitive speech about sub-marine sauce going«great» with a tuna sandwich with over 15 people behind me. Really? I thought Rosie O’Donnell didn’t cut all her hair off, gained 100 more pounds and had glaucoma(plus her anniversary with her«husband» she was yapping about after she ranted about the fucking sandwich dressing?) And to the producer stockers, please don’t roll your eyes at me for a simple question I asked about the freshness of the avocadoes, I really don’t need some acne infested 20-something year old looking like their face is about to burst in puss just by being 2 feet away from me, giving attitude. Not cool. The store itself is quite nice, but the staff are not. Easy parking, with a pharmacy available– spacious store all in all– but I prefer the location in Round Hill Village instead.

For some reason I was expecting prices to be jacked up here, but it’s standard pricing for most of California, with the same good weekly sales. Some ehh employees and usual meh prepared foods but whatevs. Bakery is good. Place is clean and in good shape. Gas station attached and mini-Starbucks inside

This is a nice grocery store and is a bit larger than some other Safeways. It has all of your essentials and is a good place to get food while in South Lake Tahoe versus going out to eat all the time. There is plenty of parking and it’s located away enough from the downtown area but still within the city.

Pretty standard, A-OK Safeway. Produce here is ridiculously expensive, although I could just be experiencing sticker-shock up here in the mountains. $ 1.99/lb for yellow onions saddens me beyond words, though. ‚-( During my trip here, I’m subsisting mostly on generic-labeled canned goods, clearance meats, and cheap pastas, which Safeway does very well. Service seemed pained at having to be friendly — it was a Monday, we’ve all been there. Already looking forward to shopping again at home, but in a pinch, this place works!
