Bear Moon Bar & Grill

I only ate crab cakes at the bar for HH. They were good enough. The bartender was beyond nice. Soooo I recommend the bars HH

Unbeatable view. Diverse menu options especially for happy hour. Service could be a bit swifter and more hospitable (although the chef was friendly and took my order).
I ordered the Chop Salad with grilled chicken and Caesar dressing. The portion was generous and filling. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the avocado was fresh.

Best place in Tahoe! Tiffany is the best server I have ever had. We were there on Friday and she was super friendly and on point. Will defiantly be coming back because of her.

Great bar. The prices arent that bad and the 3 bartenders they have are great.

Food was good but if you like your money don’t go here, I got charged twice for the same meal and have tried to show then the charges and they claim they can’t find it on their end so I don’t get my money back… even amazing food (which their’s is only ok) isn’t worth $ 80 rip off!!!

We only ever came down for drinks, all the bar tenders were very nice and accommodating, even letting us sit in the restaurant during off hours to let us spread out. Got a free beer one night when the keg quit while mine was being poured. I also got a really bad bloody mary one afternoon, off taste and weird color.

This place worked for tonight, but I doubt we will make an appearance back. We sat in the bar and the bartender was really great (Marshall). The food was fine, just nothing to write home about and nothing to return for. We ordered the quesadilla, machos (their version of nachos), taquitos & salmon fish & chips (plus a side of seasonal veggies which was broccoli which was actually my favorite). Service was good. Food was just ok. By Tahoe standards, the food was probably better than most places, but have to be fair in my ratings.

This is the first time I have ever felt let down by Unilocal reviews…
We went here as it was close to our hotel and sat in the main restaurant area. It is no frills really… looks like somewhere you’d have a free breakfast at a cheap hotel and our seat next to the window had a strong smell of chlorine from the hotel pool.
Looking at the menu it had a bit of everything… and was surprised by how pricy it was. We went with the meat pizza (can’t remember the name exactly) and BLTA sandwich.
Service was slow, they forgot about my partner’s beer until we reminded them and food took a while.
The pizza was OK. The base did not seem handmade/​rolled out and was a little soggy and like a defrosted base. I think it had been microwaved… it was like the pizzas you buy at the supermarket.
The BLTA was not good… I am not usually fussy but it was on small pale limp bits of bread and had some stale looking lettuce, bacon was tough as old boots and the avocado was some weird spread rather than actual avocado??? I complained about this and the waiter took half off the price of this (which was originally $ 13!)
We were shocked at our experience in this restaurant overall vs. the positive Unilocal reviews we read… I wonder if there is some incentive to leave a good review. A few days later we tried Artemis Grill and Azul and both were 100x better for the same price.
At most this restaurant is convenient if you are staying in the hotel but if you are looking for a nice dinner I would recommend looking elsewhere.

The place really does have good food, but I was disappointed with the «appearance». I don’t know what I was expecting… perhaps something a little more fancy. My husband had the carnivore pizza and said it was good. I had the pork belly/​steak burger… which was fabulous!

Love the environment here, the service and ordered the salmon was so tasty:) great for the kids and would eat here any day:)

The service was slow, but friendly. The Philly was a little dry, but pretty tasty; the onions and mushrooms were sautéed pretty well. The French fries were perfect! Nice a crispy in the outside and flavorful on the inside. Skip the honey mustard, but for dessert, do the Peach Cobbler. The crust is super yummy, the peaches were nice and warm and the ice cream made the perfect combination. The whiskey sour was pretty simple, know your whiskey and choose wisely.

Bear Moon is located inside of the Tahoe Vacation Resort that we stayed at and this place was a good time!
We didn’t actually sit inside the restaurant but we sat up at the bar and played plenty of pool! The bartender was super nice and very attentive! He was the only one there and you could tell he was a little overwhelmed but he was able to make all of our drinks quick and they were good!
Towards the end of the night we decided to order food which ended up being very delicious! We ordered the taquitos and the nachos. I always order nachos when i go somewhere and these were great! They came in a longer plate with chips lined up filled with beans, cheese, salsa and sour cream. The taquitos were also very good and came with a sauce on top in a plate of 3.
Inside the ambiance was fun and casual, they had a lot of people walking through and there was a fire place to keep warm and hang out. I would definetly come here if i was staying at the resort again!

What a great little spot! Cozy and warm atmosphere and a super friendly staff! You can eat poolside, on the patio or in the dining room. Loved it!

This place was good all around :) we just came for the restaurant, we weren’t guest at the resort. Super friendly and helpful staff. The food was really good, got the taquito appetizer and fish tacos and a pizza. It was brought out nice and quick. Our server Shylo was so so nice and abominating, it was our honeymoon so she gave us the peach cobbler, OMG so amazing! Great service, great food!

Just had dinner here tonight with the wife. First of all, get there by 6 pm and enjoy the sunset while having dinner. Amazing views.
Service was friendly and fast.
Everything we had was outstanding:
Tuna poke, wings, ahi tuna, wedge salad, watermelon salad and finished off with the peach cobbler.
I would highly recommend the Bear Moon.

Stayed here for a couple of weeks and I looked forward to dinner at Bear Moon almost every night. The Wedge Salad was fresh and such amazing flavors, the achiote taquitos crunchy and delicate, the Porky Pizza… oh, the mix of flavors and the perfect crust. Come, relax, and savor the moment.

Grill: I love the fact that there is a restaurant on site when I’m here for my week, however all the food I’ve tried is horrible except for the breakfasts. It’s sad, but I can’t think of any food that wasn’t worse than a bad fast food restaurant. And, the price is that of a moderate food establishment. Shame on those who take advantage of the area. Last food: piggy wings. Wow, it was so bad I only ate 3 of the dozen. Hardly any meat, the food was stiff and cold, and I think it made me sick. Luckily I only had 3. Whew! It gets one star because the restaurant itself is very pretty and the new view is gorgeous.
Bar: I like the drink specials and the bartenders are all very nice. Only once did I have an issue: We called in an ordered of food for pick up from the bartender and they forgot our order. After 15 minutes of complaining and telling us we need to pay again for the order, they finally came up with the food (packaged and ready for pick up)…as well as the receipt that we had already paid by card. Hmmm, not sure how I feel about that one.

Staying at the hotel and looking for a close place to eat with the family. This place was good enough to visit twice, we had good service and good food. Now by me saying good we are not talking a five star Resturant, they serve good food for the price and it caters to family. I would love it if they served breakfast too but do what you do best and stick with the 4 – 9 window.
We will come again.

Nestled in corner of the Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort (a helpful note for those like us who had to go above and beyond to find it in the first place), the Bar & Grill is certainly not an establishment I would classify as a restaurant.
Full disclosure, we didn’t even eat or drink here because the tables at the in-​hotel cocktail lounge that seemed to be identified as «Bear Moon Bar & Grill» were completely full with no bartender, cocktailer, or server of any kind in sight.
I don’t know if it’s related to the fact that the Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort is undergoing what appears to be some serious renovations? But either way it was pretty disappointing to stumble upon a cocktail lounge when other reviews led me to expect a restaurant.
If I were staying at the resort, I’d probably take the time attempt to eat here again but we’re not so oh well.
Also if you aren’t staying at the resort and are in the mood to try it, be warned, the renovations seem to be taking place where the front desk normally would be so the front desk services had to be moved and you have to navigate the maze of hallways (there are ample signs which makes it less confusing) to find the front desk and the lounge.

We had an absolute pleasant experience here, both times we went during our stay. The décor and ambiance is very soothing and welcoming.
Granted, we were here in April during the off season and that may make a difference…
The food was outstanding. I got the fried chicken sandwich and it was cooked perfectly. So crunchy and juicy at the same time. As a pregnant woman, I couldn’t ask for anything better to eat! The club sandwich was also ordered and it was very good too.
We even had to eat here a second time before we left just so I could have ANOTHER fried chicken sandwich because the first one was so good!
I definitely recommend. Great prices and good portion and quality :)
