Beware! This place was my go to when they first opened, but now they cheat you. Got a bid over the phone, brought my car in then they raised it $ 50. By the time I got the bill it was about $ 100+ more than the phone price. They also told me I needed a new serpentine belt for only $ 117. I had just replaced the belt myself about a year ago. When I told them that, they made up some excuse why they recommended it, which made no sense.

This is the best automotive shop that I have ever been too. They provide GREAT service and are very knowledgable about your car, whereas other places are left guessing. I like how they took me to the auto shop and showed/​explained to me exactly what was going wrong. I have nothing bad to say about this place what-​so-​ever. Friendly, knowledgable and are priced very well compared to a lot of other auto-​shops.
I will definitely keep returning if everything stays relatively the same; price, service, reliability.

Besides being quoted $ 50 to install some tires I was actually charged $ 90. That’s not the worst part. They charged me for changing out the tire stems, they were in good condition, I didn’t they think they needed to be changed, nor did they ask me before they performed the service, but fair enough, it’s cheap. HOWEVER I just painted my wheels *right* before I had the tires mounted, and guess what? All 4 of the tire stems had paint flecks on them; meaning they didn’t change the tire stems AT ALL, but they charged me for labor AND for parts saying that they did. That’s called straight up, 100% FRAUD and indicative of places like this that not only charge you for things not needed, but they charge you for parts and labor NEVER PERFORMED. They may be nice, and do it with a warm smile and cheerful attitude, but lying is still fraud. ***And how someone does anything is how they do EVERYTHING.*** Little bill padding here, little fraud there. Tips for GT Automotive: 1. Honor the prices that you quote, don’t «surprise, it’s 80% more than quoted» 2. Ask someone if they want an optional service performed. 3. Don’t lie, cheat or steal by saying you performed some labor and replaced some parts that you did not, crossing your fingers and hoping that the customer isn’t smart or savvy enough to notice.

I went to this place for an oil change. Easy enough, right? Well not with these guys.
They forgot to put the oil cup back and I ended up with a huge oil spill on my engine. If that problem wasn’t bad enough, the employees at GT Automotive made a bigger mess by trying to clean my engine and taking the (now full of oil) heat protector from my beneath my hood. They said this wouldn’t be a problem, but after a couple of years, now all the paint on the top on my hood is pealing off.
Do not use this guys, it will cost you much more than you think.

We’ve all been in a spot where we need our cars repaired. Bottom line… it stinks. Aside from the usual oil change, anything of great costs makes us cringe. And cringe is exactly what I did when GT told me how much they wanted to fix my car for.
Let’s start off with $ 120+ diagnostic fee they charge. Sure, okay. But what followed was completely of great shock. $ 1100! Mostly because they wanted to use a part that they charged $ 400 more for than the auto parts store. And what makes it worse is that they wouldn’t warranty the part if I bought it and brought it in myself so whether I liked it or not I had to have them buy the part and mark up the price. Additionally, the alternative part I researched on my own, they wouldn’t even want to warranty because they didn’t «trust» it, which would have dropped $ 150 from my price. I’m annoyed by that fact as other mechanics I asked told me it would have been fine.
Needless to say I took my car to another place, PepBoys, and they did the same repairs and gladly covered it with their warranty for roughly 30% cheaper. You do the math. Now I’m not trying to be bitter towards GT. I’m sure they do good work, but the business practices are not my favorite. Also, PepBoys charges $ 90 for their diagnostic. In the end I could have saved an extra $ 120+ had I taken my car elsewhere to begin with, but oh well. Hopefully I don’t have to deal with any more breakdowns in the future.

Perhaps I was lucky to catch them on a bad day (I went here based off of reviews here on Unilocal) but the diagnosis given me of my ’01 Ford Escape’s repairs was WAY off.
In short, they wanted to replace my alternator, turns out it was only the wiring connector that was faulty. They also told me both front sway bar links needed replacing to fix a rattling noise. Turns out the engine mount was busted, the swing arm bushings were worn out and the struts were gone.
How do you miss all that??? I’m no car expert so I’m at the mercy of «experts» giving me an honest diagnosis.
Looks like I’m back on the hunt for a decent repair shop.

GT has won my trust and loyalty. I started going here for regular oil changes and now they are my preferred auto mechanic. Their rates are reasonable and they are honest. I recently took my car in so that they could diagnose a mysterious sound. I had taken the care to a muffler shop, the Acura dealer and finally went to GT. After several hours and a few attempts driving the car around to determine the problem, we all settled on the conclusion that the car was just older, worn and the sound was just a result of the car being 10 years old with 170k miles. And after all of that diagnostic work, they didn’t charge me a penny.
They are great. Clean and professional. I highly recommend GT.

GT Automotive was great.
They did a Automatic Transmission Flush on my Honda Fit and they let me watch them for the entire procedure, which was really nice as I could learn how it’s done while also not having to just sit in the waiting room.
Pro’s:
— Reasonable Pricing
— Guys let me watch them operate in the shop (trustworthy and not hiding anything)
— The guys there are very friendly and even gave me a coupon. Great place.
— The tropical aquarium in waiting room was very nice and had some finding Nemo clown fish.
— Waiting room has free wifi, coffee, hot cocoa, & computer w/​internet
Con’s: the only constructive criticisms:
1) Have the wifi password posted somewhere (as free wifi advertised here), and
2) Have some instructions on how to run their coffee/​cocoa machine.

Took my Impreza to this place to have timing belt replaced. The cost was reasonable and I got my car back on time. They even gave me a ride to TRAX station, which was really nice.

Finding a good auto shop is such a pain in the ass. I was skeptical about GT Auto when I first went there because it looks like it is a big corporate gig, but after going there I don’t know if I have gone to a better auto shop. The pricing is fine… but what is really great is the staff and mechanics. They do good work and they are trustworthy. Any warranty work I have needed has been done without question. The guys seem to remember me and the shop owner is a really nice guy who makes you feel like he cares about you as a customer. I got everything done here from oil changes to emissions to all of my mechanical work. I really have liked this place… AND its clean. Really clean. You don’t get into your car and have a sticky steering wheel and they even vacuum out your car from time to time. Great shop and highly recommended.
