Some of the best doughnuts I’ve ever had. Light, fluffy, and delicious. The plain old fashioned doughnuts are perfect: not too sugary with just a little bit of crispy outside I could eat a whole box of them! You can tell these doughnuts are not only made fresh everyday, but also out of good ingredients. So good!

Nice little secret local find, with a wide selection of donuts and pastries. They are large in size and cheap. Just wish they had a full service coffee/latte bar to go with!

THEEARLYBIRDGETSTHEWORM! I have been coming to this place for years. I love the taste of the pastries made here. They are usually big and soft. The coffee is always hot and tasty. The service is excellent, they are always nice and helpful. If you do not come early, their will be less pastries to choose from. I know what my family likes and if I get there after 8am, the items they want are usually sold out. You can only use debit or credit for orders over $ 5.00(or something like that) and they will charge a little extra for using a card, but trust me it’s well worth it. The inside of the bakery isn’t the nicest or prettiest, but the pastries make up for it for sure!

These donuts and the coffee cake are super sized for real morning meals. I ate 1.5 donuts and a slice of cherry coffee cake and felt very satisfied. The way these donuts are non uniform in size and shape is a stark contrast to the cookie cutter donuts you get else where(think dunkin donuts — Note: I still like them too). These family owned bakeries is what we will always need in the land of the free, home of the brave. Fyi, I just had a slice of Lou Malnati’s deep dish sausage and fresh fruit(you have to balance out your meal) for lunch. I’ll have another slice of Hi-Way coffee cake at 2:30 p.m.

I have been spoiled for many years, for the price you will not find a better tasting or bigger doughnut in all of Chicago. Don’t even waste your time going to Dunkin go to the Hi-Way Bakery! All my friends love John the owner and the Hi-Way Bakery. You will not be disappointed. Don’t question it, GO to the Hi-Way Bakery!

LOVE Hi-Way Bakery cakes. Although they do not offer the new design trend, they are PERFECT for old fashion Fresh baked breads, pastries and party cakes. I am long time customer of over 25 years and love their frequent buyer cards given with each party cake purchase. In addition to their tasty goodies, they offer VERY affordable pricing! I have yet to be disappointed!
