The Bagel Place

Always stop here on my way to Montréal. Quick service, good bagels, and good place to stretch my legs.

Bar None the best bagels in town. Yes there’s usually a line out the door, but it moves briskly, and makes you realize you’re getting superfresh bagels and toppings.
We usually get there on the weekends at a time that could ostensibly still be considered breakfast (9 — 11am) and nine times out of ten I get the Baja sandwich: Egg, bacon, cheddar cheese, chipotle mayo, green peppers and onions on an everything or jalapeño cheddar bagel. It’s perfection. The eggs are actually fried, not microwaved like most places around here, the veggies are great and the chipotle mayo ties everything together.
The staff here is as nice as it gets. On multiple occasions we’ve been sitting eating our bagels and a manager has come out with free cookies or muffins. Even though we usually have our Maglianero’s coffees by then, The Bagel Place offers quality brew courtesy of the venerable Uncommon Grounds.
I can’t recommend this place enough, but judging by the lines it looks like everyone’s already in on this spot!

This is my most favorite place to get sandwiches! The Montréal bagel is the best ever!

Cute little bagel place with big taste. It was just a short walk from my hotel so I thought I would check it out. I agree with other reviews, the line was fairly long, but def worth the wait. I came in for breakfast during a busy time. I didn’t wait long. All of the options sounded yummy. I couldn’t decide btw the Taylor ham or chorizo. I got the ham. It was thinly sliced Taylor ham, Vermont white cheddar, roasted red peppers, freshly cooked egg. And I chose the sriracha bagel for a little spice. It was delicious! And the coffee… It is fantastic! I have drank my fair share of Starbucks so when the chance to try local comes up I jump on it. Hazelnut was yummy. And I did walk by a sb so I was wondering if I should just get a bagel and go there for coffee. So glad I didn’t. The bagel place is my breakfast go to when I stay in South Burlington!

*Ham, egg and cheese sandwich on the cracked honey wheat bagel was delicious. Bagel was soft and hot and tasted fresh. Egg was cooked well. Good amount of ham.
*Pleasant atmosphere, but waiting area and coffee bar were congested.
*At very early in the morning, the staff was very friendly.

*If I was a local I would go back again.

Wanted to try this place out after reading the Unilocal reviews. Went in and tried the breakfast taylor ham on a plain bagel. I thought it was just egg, taylor ham and cheddar cheese but what a lovely surprise when I opened it and found that there were roasted red peppers and onions included! Made the sandwich that much more yummier! It was definitely worth the wait and the person that makes your bagel/​sandwich walks it out to you with a huge smile which is really nice! Excellent customer service! Customer service and the bagel I had were both so great that a second trip was made the following day… this time I ordered the Reuben (which included pastrami, sauerkraut, swiss cheese and thousand island dressing) on a plain bagel. It did the job and filled me up with a bottle of Gold Peak sweet tea. The service again was excellent! The employees in there definitely deserve their tips!

Bagels are great (when they get your order right, which about ½ the time it’s wrong), always have specials and soup of the day. The line is always long, sometimes out the door, and a little pricey for a bagel.

Best place ever. I’ve tried every thing. The walnut cream cheese is unreal. I love how there’s huge full walnuts in the cream cheese rather than small chunks. It gives it such a great crunch. Everything is customizable and delicious. It’s busy during peak hours but I go early in the morning and have no problems with lines. Thank you bagel place for being open at 6am! Great option before work.

Stopped on way back from Montréal with wife and kids. The Bagel sandwiches were interesting, thoughtful, with fresh ingredients. Great driving food for the road back to Boston. Will keep it as a bookmark to remember. Super friendly service with a smile.

Great bagel place! This is not a New York style chewy bagel, more of a bagel like object, but they are flavorful and perfect for their specialty bagel sandwiches. We got two sandwiches and two with smear to take hiking with us. The scallion spread is awesome and the garlic and herb which was aggressive but yummy. We would def come back and try some of their other breakfast sandwich options. The food came out fast and hot and the flavors were just right.

So far as I can tell — this it the BEST bagel place in Vermont (and my 2^nd favorite of all time). They have new, unique featured bagels and cream cheeses every day and will sometimes go around handing out samples of their cookies and other treats. I am actually a relatively harsh judge for bagels but every bagel I have had from here has been excellent (I have tried maybe 5 – 6 different flavors).
I have gone here 10+ times at this point. Most often I get the triple-​double breakfast sandwhich which is an good deal for ~$ 6. Often I eat half for breakfast and the other half for lunch (it is packed with meat and cheese and 2 eggs!). It’s actually a perfect stop on the way to the ski slopes. :)
Individuals who work there are almost always very nice and friendly and speedy with the production of your order even when very busy.

The bagel place met every bagel expectation I had! I ordered an egg and cheese with cream cheese on their everything and it was delicious. Slightly salty but still flavor perfection. $ 2 and change for a bag of yesterday’s bagels. Our bagel sandwiches were $ 4 – 5 and change. Staff was super friendly and cheery. A must if you’re in the area!

Never had a bad meal here. The food is always prepared well and the ever changing bagel, cream cheese, and sandwich specials are the main reasons to always return.
The order counter can seem chaotic, especially at peak times, but the staff keeps things flowing smoothly and quickly. Even if the line is out the door, you’re only a few minutes away from one of the best bagels in Vermont.
The coffee is probably the hottest I’ve seen from a restaurant, needing adequate milk, cream, or time to get it to a drinkable temperature. Be warned, as I’ve slightly burned my mouth taking that first sip of delicious black House Blend.
My only real concern is the number of seats. It certainly is adequate for the space; it’s not cramped, nor too open, but tables fill quickly, especially on the weekend.

This place is awesome! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The roasted artichoke bacon Parmesan bagel with the sun dried tomato pesto cream cheese is amazing. The turkey club o asiago cheese was very tasty. Also got the hazelnut coffee which was perfectly blended and flavorful. Would def come back!

An amazing spot for all types of sandwiches on a wide variety types of bagels. I had a classic Italian on an ASIAGO CHEESE bagel. Every single ingredient was fresh and just the right amount of portions. The coffee is heavenly.

What a nice spot for a quick bagel and awesome cream cheese. Conveniently located on Williston road! Seating is ample for a bagel shop but parking is limited. Grab a few friends and head down!

They are doing it right! Exceptional customer service. Line moves fast, always greeted with a smile, bagels are made to order and cashed out quickly. Typical bagel place with the classic variety of bagels and flavored creamed cheese. I appreciate their creativity with weekly cream cheese special flavors like cucumber dill and honey cinnamon. You must try their marzipan bagel at least once! Too much for one person, especially if you’ve ordered a bagel, but so so sweet and delicious to share! Great muffins, fruit, greek yogurt options as well.

Such a lovely bagel shop with great food and coffee! Everything here seems to be so fresh and the people are super friendly and personable. Stopped here twice during my most recent visit to Burlington and I will be coming back for another bacon, egg & cheese soon! The storefront is appealing and inviting with a good amount of space and decent seating. They serve great coffee from a local coffee shop Downtown called Uncommon Grounds — which is phenomenal as well, check it out!
I also like how they make use of «yesterday’s bagels» that were not sold by bagging and selling them by the dozen. Much better than throwing them out like some places do.

Came here today for breakfast worth friends. I’m a native Vermonter visiting home for the holidays.
This place is awesome! So many varieties of bagels that Id never seen, special cream cheeses, the menu was perfect. I chose a cheddar dill bagel with, get this — roasted artichoke cream cheese and lett tomato and cucumbers. Heaven on a bagel. So so so good.
Besides that, the other reviews were true — we were brought a complimentary muffin randomly. Nice touch. The staff was super friendly and young. I’m a fan and will be back!

Always yummy fresh and healthy food. They work fast and are great at keeping customers their priority. Always offering new cream cheeses and bagels. Skip the other places and go here! Fav jalapeño and cheddar bagel.
