I’ve been there. Always a good atmosphere friendly people. Unfortunately they just had a fire and are currently closed. Not sure if the owner will rebuild.

Sorry to report they had a bad fire on 2.15.2016. I do hope they can reopen soon. I been there only 2 – 3 times and always had a good time.

The beer selection is outstanding. Bar manager Harry is passionate about beer and it shows in the selection, his knowledge and his willingness to make (always spot on) suggestions. The food is decent (good happy hour specials). Service can be spotty at times.
Warning: this bar is right next door to the South Bound Brook Police Station! I left the bar recently, not realizing I had a headlight out. I was pulled over after driving about 15 feet. They had me doing the roadside sobriety check… it all worked out well and I was sent on my way. But I will certainly be cautious when I go here. Also be careful — Main Street in South Bound Brook is known as a speed trap. Coming into town from 287, the speed limit drops from 45 to 25 pretty quickly… I would not recommend driving 26 through town.

Two words, Chicken Wings. When you go here you have to try the wings. They are large, hot, and very tasty. So far my favorite is the garlic and the honey BBQ.

Hadn’t tried it before but on my first night, received a chicken entrée that was raw and pink in the center. The manager grabbed it and replaced with another dish as soon as possible but never even told our waitress, it stayed on our check, and they never apologized. I didn’t want to make a scene but now regret being polite. Was already grossed out about a mouthful of raw chicken and didn’t touch any of the remaining food. Won’t be going back.

Live from another tavern at happy hour. Sipping a Ballast Point Grunion Pale Ale and just ordered an Eggplant Caprisi sandwich (fried eggplant, fresh basil, tomato, red pepper, and melted mozzerella cheese with balsamic glaze on a foccacia roll) and sweet potato fries. Nice craft beer selection on draft. Another establishment with beaucoup televisions. Electronic dart boards here. Trivia night on Wednesday.
Happy hour specials include sandwiches. Nice change from the usual run of fried appetizers and wings. The eggplant sandwich was on the list!
Sandwich arrives. Looks appealing! Tastes good. Basil is nice and crunchy. So is the eggplant. Really enjoyed it. Regular fries arrived instead of the sweet potato fries, so I requested an exchange. Usually, if there is an error of this sort, I eat what arrived if it tastes good, but in this case, the regular fries were limp and a little greasy, tho they looked like fries that would have been better if fresh out of the fryer and hot. The sweet potato fries arrive quickly, and they are hot and crisp.
The regulars probably rate a little more attention from the server. However, all is good, and I am happy with my choices and certainly can recommend that eggplant selection.

They had a pretty good DJ and a chill bar. We arrived towards the end of the night, so everyone was already enjoying themselves.tremendously. It didn’t take us too long to fall into their groove. The drinks were really good and the bartenders were nice and attentive. I’ll most definitely be back.

Pretty decent place to go after work for a bite to eat and a few drinks… food is pretty good. .prices are decent. .my only complaint is the bartender. .she looks at you as if you’re annoying her. .seriously. .gives you a blank stare and in general is, for lack of a better word, an asshole. .she cld at least pretend to be a Lil friendly. .other than that, I’d definitely go again… btw…to be fair since there are several bartenders, this particular one was a brunette, had her hair tied back in a pony tail… I’d say she’s in her late 20’s…if you see her, i suggest you ask for someone else to serve you..

Loved it here. The bartenders are awesome and personable and the food is great! Love it here!

Good beer list and nice burger. Stuck without lunch options while visiting from out of town and glad we found this spot.

Beer selection is usually awesome, 30 or so taps, rotates often and never had a bad beer due to something stupid like not cleaning the lines correctly. The food is great, best wings in the area. There is sometines a wait, place can get mobbed. I go off hours to avoid the crowd.

As much as I love their craft beer selection and craft beer events… I have to give this establishment a low rating due to poor service. Each time I’ve been here it takes forever to get a drink. I would make this a regular watering hole if I didn’t have to stalk bartenders up and down the bar to get a beer each time. :(
Good prices and good selection of beer.

My wife and I often come here after we visit my mom. So we decided to go there for Super Bowl Sunday, because we heard from Harry the manager about the events planed for the game., boy am I glad we went. We brought our friends who had been there once before and were pleasently surprised with the selection of craft beers. Harry had arranged raffles and a tailgate menu. Abraham one of the bartenders was very helpful with the beer selection and food items, both of which were delicious. There were two other pretty female bartenders who were equally helpful. This fast becoming one of our favorite places for a good night out.

Poor service in a bar, a dive bar no less, pisses me off. I am here nearly every week to play trivia and I thought it was a bad day for the bartender, but clearly a trend has emerged.
There are two good bartenders-​I think Erin & John. There are usually 4 – 6 people working at any given time. Two people can’t manage the bar if it’s full. Stop texting, counting your tips and chatting and pay attention to your customers.
If it were not for a great beer selection, above average food and fun trivia night, I would not return.
Alas, there’s nothing to do in Central NJ. MEH.

5 stars FOR THE WINGS… The rest: Average bar with a decent selection of beers. But the best wings I’ve ever had, hands down. I usually frequent this place on Sundays during football season which usually draws a decent amount of people
Out. Rest of the food is pretty decent though. Def A safe bet.

The food leaves a bit to be desired (standard bar grub, ugh)…
But can you beat those happy hour prices? My roommate and I had (combined) 5 Red Bull Bourbons, 4 or 5 mugs of Coors Light, and nachos for $ 39. What whaaaaat.
Most places, actually every other place, would charge you the $ 4 well drink price PLUS the cost of the RB but nope, not here. Yes, a Red Bull mixed drink for $ 4. Unheard of and awesome. Will def be back.

Went here last night for dinner for my dad and sister for the holidays. If you had a restaurant with service this god awful in Chicago or NYC, you’d be closed in a month. But I guess when you have zero competition in a sleepy town, your service can be this awful.
Our waitress might have actually been the hostess. Ordered 3 beers and a club soda… the club soda never came after asking four separate times. I went and got it for my dad from the bar. She came back to take our order…45 minutes after the first order. Then after asking for a steak sandwich, I recieve a whole steak dinner. Then she acts like it was my fault. Every other sandwich comes with fries, mine doesn’t, and I get charged extra for them… and for the club soda I paid for in cash because I never recieved. 2 hours for 4 sandwiches. Absolutely asinine.
I get that sometimes stuff goes wrong in the kitchen or the bill gets mixed up, but this woman had no concept of customer service. The food was pretty good, but I’m never returning here again when I travel back home.

Like many of my reviews this one will be strictly beer only, as I just stopped in yesterday for a quick drink and didn’t eat anything at all.
I had heard a while back that this place surprisingly had a decent beer menu and driven past it many times but never stopped in. From the outside it looks a bit run down but I thought I’d finally give it a try. The interior is really nothing fancy at all, in fact it kind of looks like the interior of a trailer or something, with old cheap wood panels on the walls and a chipboard bar. But there were quite a few bartenders there and they got me a beer menu and took my order quickly, as well as checked on me to see if I needed anything. Despite the need of a redecoration, the place was decently clean on the inside, and did not smell bad, so that was a plus.
It looked like from what I remember they had about 20 craft taps or so from a wide variety of brewers. I didn’t eat anything, so I can’t vouch for the food.
I don’t think it would become a neighborhood hangout type of place for me but on the other hand, I felt comfortable enough there.

Not fancy at all, but food is hearty and portions are huge. Ribs are excellent. They have a great menu for $ 29 for two people on Sunday through Thursday. A great alternative to going to the diner.

Normally if we want a burger and a beer, we go to Cahoots. But yesterday we decided on a return trip to South Side. Ownership had changed so it was worth a try.
My wife had a «classic» burger with fries. I had the «hickory bacon» burger with onion rings. Food was just OK, my guess is that everything was bought in and reheated. Did not seem made on premises.
Beer selection is 20 plus on tap but I was not impressed with their selections. My wife had a Riverhorse Summer which we have at home and I had the Troegs Perpetual IPA — not a fan.
Décor in the dining room needs updating and gets too much noise from the bar. Part way thru our dinner a DJ came on and was playing some sort of a game with the guys around the bar. No background music prior to the DJ coming to the mike.
Food came out if the kitchen fast. Our server was OK but I had to ask the busser to find her to get a check. Dining room was busy, strictly the Social Security set early in the evening.
