Very, very terrible customer service. Not sure when they are even open. I used to buy books from this store with my Dad in the 80’s so it is sad to see it in such a strange condition. Most of their money is made from textbooks I hear so I guess that’s how they stay open. If anyone who works there is reading this, please work on your customer service skills, you’re behavior is why people go to big box stores.

This place is shady. It’s kind of interesting because it looks like a mini-‘80s-blue-glass-and-steel office park, but it’s in the middle of one of South Bend’s empty-lot-filled neighborhoods. Scratch that. The lots used to be empty until Notre Dame bought up all this property and started building houses that are too big for the neighborhood. Gentrification sucks generally, but it’s especially annoying when it’s being done by your alma mater. OK, back to Pandora’s Books. So when you come inside, you’ll notice that they do have a lot of books. But no one’s ever really in here, and when you ask for help, you get kind of puzzled looks. I did find some theology books here that I needed for classes. That was cool. But what’s the second floor for? I’ll give you a hint at my guess: It involves illegality. This I’m almost sure of.
