They served me a salad with raw bacon(call me crazy, but I generally prefer my pork products cooked). When I asked about it I was told they«usually serve it cold like that» but that they’d cook it for me and make me a new one(with extra saliva, probably). They didn’t actually make a new one, because the chicken was in the exact same position as when the waitress took it back. On a side note, the iced tea tastes like water. Guess I shouldn’t have ignored the 2.5 star rating.

I’ve been here a bunch of times, but this is the first time I’ve reviewed it.(And, granted, I’m usually not there to eat.) First off, the server we had was just plain bad. As in, the guy didn’t understand our original order, put our amended order into the system twice, had to be asked four separate times by my friend to get a cup of water, and included three orders of wings on ¾ of our bills even though all of us only ordered one order. Once we got our food, runners brought two more trays of food to our table ready to hand it out to us as if it were ours, even though we clearly already had stuff in front of us. It was a pretty sorry effort all around. OK, with that being said, I went specifically for the $ 0.25 bone-in wings on Wednesday night. Helluva deal, to be honest, worth the bad service. They come in orders of 10 wings — have to get all 10 of the same flavor. I got the spicy garlic. The wings themselves are prepared nice and crisp, cooked properly. Had to ask for extra sauce though — some of my wings maybe had a couple of drops of sauce on it, no more. They can be stingy with saucing. But, once adding some more, the flavor is pretty decent. Honey sriracha is OK, too, but if you don’t have a spicy tolerance, stay away. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you want/need here, else you won’t get it. Go for the cheap & tasty Wednesday wings, cheap drink specials, and sports, not much else. *Note: Wednesday wings start at 9pm and tend to run out fairly quickly. Best to get there right when it starts!

Bottom line: Brothers is not even close to being a good sports bar. As a Notre Dame grad student I’ve been to this Brothers location many times out of convenience. It has a couple of redeeming qualities, such as cheap food and lots of TVs for games. But that’s about it. Brothers has awful service. The waitresses here have forgotten my orders many times, charged for the wrong thing, given my order to other people, and all too often when I’ve paid in cash and expected to get change, the waitress will keep all the change assuming that I wanted to give a large tip. The bar tables are always dirty, the staff never takes away empty bottles or finished plates. Beer bottles tend to pile up on the table as if they had been there for a week. The food is terrible. The only time the food tastes okay is after a long night of drinking. But the food always seems to give people stomach cramps. Some people like the Wednesday night wings because they are 10 cents a piece. Let’s be clear: these wings are TERRIBLE. If you’ve ever had a decent wing, you’ll struggle eating Brothers’ wings. If you’re looking for a cheap sports bar to watch a game just drive up to Buffalo Wild Wings.

I love your $ 3 drafts special on Sundays. I don’t eat there so I won’t comment on the food.

I’ve spent a lot of time on 5 continents, and this is the only bar that has been bad enough for me to write a review. The bartenders don’t know basic cocktails, the bouncers can’t count to five on one hand, and the clientele are all looking for a bar fight. No amount of money will ever get me back here. Please do yourself a favor, and don’t waste your time.

Mediocre at best ;room temp soup and burger served together on a slow Tuesday night, not what I expected. tHere is truth in «location is everything» and Brothers is a stones throw to ND. If you can’t get simple bar food right your in the wrong business. Enjoy inexpensive drinks, have some laughs with your friends and eat elsewhere.

Great for booze on dollar well thursdays, but the food is lame and I and 4 other people have had the fried mushrooms and puked our guts out. Liked it much better 3 years ago when they had the trivia. Domer corporate dive.

Decided to switch it up and try out Brother’s for a late(9pm) dinner and drinks on a weeknight. When asked, the person carding at the door said servers would be circulating on the patio. We waited about 20 minutes prior to my boyfriend going inside for drinks. He mentioned we wanted to order food and asked for servers to come outside. Meanwhile outside, a busser asked me if I needed anything. I said we’d like to order food and menus would be great. No one came to take our order, we asked two more people if we could order when someone finally took it.(Made us wonder if the serving staff wanted to make tips?!)The man who ended up being our server was pretty terrific. He offered to comp our meal after letting him know what we went through waiting and asking for help and not getting it. I was looking forward to the chicken queso wrap, because I haven’t eaten here in awhile and queso is amazing. It was ok, but the lettuce was super watery and seemed to be the nail in the coffin for a crappy experience. Until the bill came. Pretty sure our server’s offer to comp the meal got trumped by his manager because it was 50% off instead. That was strange, but par for the course. Won’t be coming back for awhile.

I was visiting in town and decided to check out Eddy street on a Thursday night. Brothers looked interesting(I guess its a chain). I was able to find the last seat at the bar when I got there around 830. I’m glad I did because the place quickly filled up. Apparently there was a cover later in the evening(but you got a cup and a t-shirt so that’s something at least). Early in the night it was fairly relaxed and chill. Plenty of room to move around. Service was kinda slow unfortunately. Took a little too long in my book to get a drink and even longer to my put order of food in. I ordered the Gator Balls(chicken filled with cheese, and wrapped in bacon then fried). The food came out about 20 minutes after ordering. Kind of ridiculous considering they were just appetizers. But once I got my food I was quite pleased. The gator balls were hot, crispy, and delicious. I love how many tvs are in the place. Clearly this place is meant to be filled to the max with sports fans(it is right across from touchdown jesus). By 1100 the place was totally packed with college kids. So a fun place to people watch. The music is pretty good. And I’m pretty sure I saw a DJ set up shop and a dance floor start to emerge towards the back. Ironically, service was waaaay better after the place got busy. I think a bunch more bartenders showed up at that point. All in all, pretty fun place to check out on a Thursday night.

Brother’s is the kind of restaurant that is good 1 in every 5 visits. The rest of the time the food is sub-par(prepared poorly and without much regard to a quality meal) and the service is slow. But it is that 1 good visit that will keep you coming back!

Stopped in for dinner about 8:45 on a Friday night. We were seated right away at a table on the outdoor patio. Inside wasn’t too crowded, but patio was full, we were glad a table was available outside as inside was very loud. We had two burgers and a chicken sandwich. All of us enjoyed our food and thought it was very good, I especially loved the kettle chips and longboard chicken sandwich! My only complaint was the slow service. No one came to take our drink order when we were seated, it was like we were at a table that did not belong to any server. If we weren’t so hungry, we probably would’ve left, but once I went back to the hostess stand, a server came right over. After that, no complaints. Good food, shaded, comfortable patio seating in a great atmosphere at Notre Dame made for a very nice dinner and evening!

Love love love this place. Right next to ND stadium. Fantastic atmosphere with a big beer selection. If you are a craft beer fan you will love this place. The food is great and the service was great too. If you come here on a Saturday there will be tons of games on TV. I have no reasons to give it less than five stars, so five stars it is!

Was kind of nervous when we saw the 2.5 star rating, but after reading a few of the less favorable ones I realized it was more to do with the night life part of the restaurant. We were here for a late dinner, just missing the«low rated part» of the night. As s Canadian I was very excited to see poutine in the menu. My husband pointed out it was an appetizer and not a meal, which was shocking considering the price. It tasted good and I enjoyed the slight modification of fried cheese curds mixed with plain curds. I was not pleased with the cost of the poutine vs amount. It’s not French truffles for crying out loud! It’s fries cheese and gravy. The curds were also really huge. I didn’t mind them, but do prefer them a little smaller. I enjoyed my bratwurst very much and that was reasonably priced. The kettle chips were yummy too. My husband got mahi mahi tacos. He liked them and the bite I had was yummy. He was convinced that the«Spanish» rice side dish was a straight off of the box Uncle Ben’s Spanish Rice. My fork full had to agree. The service was good. We did feel a little rushed to order drinks as soon as we sat down. I think three people asked us within 3 minutes what we wanted. They did with out my husband’s beer when he didn’t like the first one he tried. That was very cool of them. Overall not an awful place. Might not be the first place we consider going to, but the area is just the right amount of hipster(not too much not too little) to bring us back.

Went to Brothers last night for the first time. I was impressed. We had a group of nine and they sat us fairly quickly. Nice drink specials and a good selection. We had there different appetizers and they were all good. The French Dip sandwich is amazing! Several in our party had it and some said it was the best ever. A great first experience and we will definitely go back.

Arrived at just before 3 p.m. Friday of a Notre Dame football weekend. It was busy, but not ridiculously busy. They have a limited menu on football weekends consisting mostly of burgers and appetizers. Wife ordered a burger cooked medium with no onions. It came out well done, with onions. She sent it back, so they made her a new one. AGAIN, well done with onions. Sent this one back and told them to forget the burger altogether. Then the bill came out and they still charged for the burger(even though they said they wouldn’t). Brought this to the waitress’s attention and she immediately took it off and apologized. The waitress was very nice — not her fault; the kitchen needs to get their act together though. At least the beer was good — they have a very large tap selection. If you are just going for drinks, it’s probably OK, but I would not recommend this place for the food.

I have been here a couple of times over the past couple of years and every time walk away with a mediocre experience. Only once we ordered food, which was surprisingly decent. However, the late night seen leaves a lot to be desired. Music is insanely loud, which is amplified by the fact the speakers can’t handle it. Case in point ND sweet sixteen game where the announcers voices sounded terrible do the distortion. But all in all the drinks are cheap and there is a decent amount of space.

For someone who doesn’t live in South Bend, I certainly come here often. I second, Jacueline O, who wrote it’s rare to find a clean, student bar anywhere near South Bend. We came here for a game and had a really great experience. It’s clearly themed ND and there were a lot of people rooting for the Irish. There were plenty of TV’s and with persistence, we were able to find a seat. The group I was with were highly impressed with the beer list, had an excellent burger, and the bar accommodated for a restricted diet without a blink. I’ve been a bartender before and during a game it’s horribly difficult to keep track of everyone and make sure they’re being taken care of. The only think I have to say is that they could have kept up with the bathrooms a bit better. Besides that, I was very impressed!

It is rare to find a clean student bar in south bend. Brothers is a great place to come for weekday drinks as a student and even better for game mornings and happy hour as an alumni. At night they always have fun music playing(although dance floor is weak) with some weird ass music videos playing on all of the tvs. They also have two pool tables a photo booth and a shuffle board game up front. During the day it’s great to sit out side and enjoy a cold drink. The food is just ok and is exactly what you would expect for Midwest bar food. The food is nothing to get excited about. Despite the bar food this place is a no-brainer with it’s close proximity to the notre dame campus and it’s great outside drinking area.
