Classic Italian Pizza Joint. The pizza is good for the local area but it is not the best. It is operated by a sweet Sicilian couple for over 40 years. It is a bit old I bet that the restaurant looked pretty much the same since it opened. They probably kept the recipe the same since they opened. It is a bit greasy for my taste. The service is… its a pizza place. The couple that owns it seems nice. They only accept cash. The décor looks straight out of the 70s. It could use a makeover. It is very dark.

Great plain pizza, ran by a sweet Sicilian couple and their daughters. It’s a throwback, Delios hasn’t changed since it opened. When they filmed coyote ugly in south Amboy they wanted to shoot it in Delios, but they said they wouldn’t close because their customers needed to eat there. So they had to build a fake pizza place a block away! That’s how much the Delios care about their customers!

I’ve been coming to Delio’s all my life. Pete & Cathy make the best pizza in So. Amboy. I’ve never gone wrong with this place :)

The slices are thin and not fresh at times, not very friendly, Dirty tables and if you’re eating, they’ll sweep the floor and kick the dust up on you. It’s next to the transit. So what do they care about the neighborhood frequent customer!

In my opinion best Pizza in Jersey. If you like crispy thin crust pizza with fresh mozzarella and home made sauce this is the place to order from. To the guy complaining about how the inside looks they’re mostly a take out joint. And you can’t beat the old school Italian couple who own the place.

I grew up on New York style pizza and this place is the real deal. Spoke with the owners Pete & Catherine and they told me that they are there since 1972 and family owned since 1961. I think that says enough. Stop by and try a few slices. The ricotta on the white pizza was soft and ceamy. Very fresh. I’ll be going back here for sure.

I think this place is good. Way better than the other local, and over-rated options.

What’s not to love about a family owned pizza place like Delio’s? Their pizza has been consistently the same for decades. Mr. & Mrs. Delio have weathered the storm of countless pizza places in town coming and going yet they remain a solid choice for ordering pizza. This place is here to stay until they choose to close. Try their chicken pizza as well if you are looking for more then a plain slice.

DeLio’s is a great family run business who care about their customers. Pizza is delicious! PLus they have a full menu too of hot and cold subs as well as pasta. I love the old school setting, which gives it more of an italian taste. Don’t be fooled by the place down the street, they aren’t authentic italians! PS. The guy from NC is a hick… he is used to pizza hut.

Ran by Sweet Sicilian couple. They love taking their time making this pizza because its made with love. The tomato sauce in the pizza has a little sweetness in it. The place isnt that big, and you might even miss it. But dont miss this hidden treasure. The pizza is the real deal and no one makes them like these anymore. Oh yeah theres other things in the menu, but the pizza here is the SH**

When I hear people hyping up certain restaurants, I usually try to ignore it the best I can. I like to keep an open mind on a new place, and have my own opinion on it. So anyways, I tried out Delio’s, because all I’ve been reading on Unilocal is that Delio’s is second to none, and the reviews make it sound like their ingredients come from the Garden of Eden. Nope, sorry Delio’s. Nice try though. I had the pleasure of meeting the nice Italian couple who run the place. They really are polite to their customers, which I can appreciate, since bad service is so common here in NJ. Inside their store, they keep a lot of family pics hanging on the walls, along with a lot of small religious statues standing around the cooking station. Nothing fancy, but makes it a real comfortable setting. We had a large pie with«The Works». The pizza had a good amount of toppings: pepperoni, peppers, mushrooms, onions. I would definitely go back to try other items on their menu. It’s good pizza, don’t get me wrong. But life-altering? No… If you’re looking for a mind-blasting, out-of-body pizza experience, head down the street from Delio’s, and you’ll find it… *cough*SCIORTINO’S*cough*

This place was nasty. It was late and I was hungry. The pizza was delicious and made by actual Italians. They would make a lot more money if they cleaned something. 4 employees sitting around doing nothing. Pickup a broom!!!

I love this place. Lived in Parlin and moved to FL, whenever back in NJ this where we go. Exactly what pizza should be, with gooey yummy cheese and sauce to die for, nice crisp thin crust– pizza heaven! Someone else said if you havent had this pizza you dont know what pizza is, and our family agrees wholeheartedly.

It’s been a while since I was here but after all these years I still compare all pizza to Delio’s. My high school had no cafeteria so we ate out. Delio’s was close by but it was also pretty inexpensive. The couple that run the place always mentioned me and my family and friends by name. If your headed that way stop in for a slice.

You have to stop and get a sub and share a slice with someone. Quaint surroundings in small town Americana.
