What a sweet place. It’s very rare for a large company to excibit a genuinely friendly atmosphere. Tj the staff here was phenomenal along with the other staff. Great service awesome place to work, meet, and hang.

Because some mornings OJ just doesn’t cut it. And by some, I mean all. Charming local coffee shop: I enjoyed the Mayan Mocha and the subtle kick of heat it offered: the perfect amount to awaken my senses and convince me it was time I start my day. Their was ample table space to sprawl out, crack open the weekly paper, or whatever magazine your are currently in to.

UPDATE: Stars upgraded due to Kristiina’s prompt reply– we look forward to upgrading to 5-stars when the internet is improved. Thanks guys! — — - Don’t go here if you’re traveling and hoping to catch up on email, friends and family. A café without proper internet connection these days is like a an oasis in Sahara without water — no good ;-) WIFI connection ALWAYS terribly SLOW, staff sweet yet tired of apologizing on behalf of management not fixing it. Great staff! Always friendly and funny… Coffee awesome as always — it’s Peet’s after all. If you need Internet check out the library or one of the other local cafes in the hood.

Peet’s is Peet’s. If you’ve never been, it’s a decent chain, so expect decent coffee. Nothing gourmet. Though the new Javiva’s are pretty good. Nevertheless, just had to hand it to the customer service here. Pretty legit. Keep up the good work.

Sonoma is usually averse to chain stores– but they have a Whole Foods, a Starbucks, Taco Bell, McDonald’s, the original Williams-Sonoma… and this Peet’s on your way to the Plaza. It’s a pleasant little place; it’s got a courtyard unlike the Napa one, they’re that small and charming! It’s also got a roomier seating/dining area. They make great savory scones. Even the regular coffee packs a punch. They’re currently carrying a Golden State Warriors special blend of coffee. The service is friendly. On the downside, they have only 8 spaces in their private lot. One has to look around for street parking(3 hours maximum)… and if you want the free parking behind the Sonoma Plaza, it’s quite a walk.

The service is great… the coffee is ok. But oh my gosh, the wifi is TERRIBLE. Walk in and you will see nothing but frustrated wifi users. I spend a lot of time at this location and all day I hear grumblings about the faulty internet connections. Many people use this location as a home office and actually do real work but are unable to because of the wifi. Personally, I restart… and restart… and restart… and restart my wifi connections on my huge laptop and I barely get homework done. Please fix this seriously.

I needed an espresso after a few visits to tasting rooms in the Sonoma square area. This Peets location is spacious and really comfortable. The staff was friendly and the location which is just off the square is awesome. When I need a pick-me-up, I am definitely stopping by here!

I love this Peet’s location! After having a bad experience at two different coffee shops in Sonoma today, I thought I should praise the place at which I have never had a bad experience. All of the staff here — especially Brian(I think his name is) — go out of their way to be friendly, cheerful and creative at helping customers get what they want. When I was pregnant this past year, staff were very helpful in identifying an organic, decaffeinated tea that could be brewed and then iced so I could continue my addiction to iced tea even when I wasn’t supposed to have caffeine or chemicals :) I love their little cage-free hard-boiled eggs, the layout of the store itself, the fact that those of us who go in there to spend a few hours doing work don’t feel rushed, and the convenient location in downtown Sonoma. I do wish they were open later, but that is my only complaint!

I came in around 8am on Sunday after the quake. The ladies did an outstanding job with only one register and a line out the door! Thanks for your hard work!

I love Peet’s and have been a devout patron for over two decades. Whereas, I abhor Starbucks. Yet, Peet’s standards of excellence that are brilliantly honored and effectively achieved when applied to making coffees and teas should be equally applied towards the corporate management of each of their cafes. So then, I am evaluating the town of Sonoma Peet’s Coffee and Tea café upon the following 6 subject criteria below, using the Unilocal 0 to 5 star measurements: Café drinks; Customer Service; Cleanliness: Additional food products; Ambiance: Aesthetic interior /exterior design. TOTALPOINTS: 14 TOTALCRITERIAEVALUATED: 6 TOTALSTARRATINGSCORE(14 ÷ 6): 2.3 CAFEDRINKS: RATING: 4 stars The house coffees lattes, mochas are brewed/pressed/made well. Bravo Baristas CUSTOMERSERVICE: RATING: 2 stars 5 Stars to the top, often older employees you know who you are; and a negative 3 stars to those young employees who considerably bring the curve down. Hence, the final rating is 2. Generally speaking, the entire staff is very friendly and the seasoned baristas know their trade. Sadly, there are two very young Peets employees who appear to be very inexperienced and unhappy. The inexperience I can tolerate – particularly when employees are making genuine efforts to be helpful. However, It’s simply unacceptable when you’re staring at a young person who is clearly displaying signs of unhappiness at their job(perhaps for lack of pay, lack of interest or some other reason), when tens of millions of American people are unemployed. CLEANLINESS: RATING: 2 stars Having formerly worked within the food industry and as a café barista for a number of well respected organizations, I know how absolutely important it is to maintain a high standard of cleanliness on the front line(the cash register, the front counters, the barista machines and main seating area) as well as the back end (the kitchen and bathrooms). Speaking strictly about the cleanliness in the café at the tables, floors and counters, and bathrooms(not the kitchen), …it seems to be an ongoing struggle that is often either intentionally neglected or simply forgotten. Here, I understand that«rushes» of people occur at odd times. As a result, it’s easy to loose track of your work priorities. And though, taking orders, filling these orders and directly serving the customer is a number 1 priority,…maintaining a clean environment should never be avoided. Moreover, when you have a staff of 3 to 6 people on call and you’re not keeping your café /restaurant consistently clean, then that’s a serious problem that starts at the top management level. I can not tell you how many times I’ve walked into the men’s restroom only to think I walked into a war zone. It’s really bad on a consistent basis. Furthermore, I have repeatedly sat down at tables and seats that were unclean. ADDITIONALFOODPRODUCTS: RATING: 0 stars Unfortunately, this is a serious problem with Peet’s Corporate Offices. However, managers do have influence to speak up and make recommendations – particularly with respect to the suggestions made by their local customers and their demographic clients. That having been said, it’s particularly unnerving and a double standard to see Peet’s selling an Organic milk in front of their pastries and between their two cash registers while simultaneously using the bad, hormone, antibiotic, non-organic milks for all café drinks. This is unacceptable and reflects negatively upon Peet’s business acumen. [RECOMMENDATION: If you visit this Peet’s Café and you’re concerned about consuming GMO /Hormone /Antibiotic milk,…then please complain to them – Pointing out the double standard of SELLINGORGANICMILKFOREXTRAMONEY,…BUTTHENGIVINGYOUTHEUNHEALTHY, ANTIBIOTICANDHORMONEMILK so as to make a change. DEMANDTHATPEET’S STARTUSINGORGANICMILKTHATISHORMONE, ANTIBIOTICANDLACTOSEFREE. ] AMBIANCE: RATING: 4 stars This rating specifically speaks directly to their refreshingly pleasant choice of classical music. This really sets the tone for an enjoyable, peaceful and relaxing ambiance… where you can not only hear yourself think, but where you may have engaging conversations with people at just the right tone and volume so as not to disturb others or to be disturbed by others. AESTHETICINTERIOR /EXTERIOR DESIGN: RATING: 2 stars I really like the location of the café. Unfortunately, the inside and outside are rather disappointing, in my opinion. Why? Well, the gross misuse of space and poorly chosen furniture really detract from what could be a far better café… in spite of the so-called County and City of Sonoma Safety Building codes justifications from Peet’s managers.

Great coffee with great service. Employees were very curious and offered samples of sandwiches as well as salads. Both were very good. The coffee was really good and this was a nice little change from Starbucks.

This Peet’s was short walk from where Gayle and I were staying this last weekend to celebrate her XYth Birthday. Sorry, it’s not polite to ask a Lady about her age. :) I came over to find a Newspaper(which are available at a central rack at the Post Office next door), and stayed long enough to buy a pound of coffee, and enjoy my free cup and a scone. I particularly enjoyed the smiling face and good service of the barista behind the counter. This place is also a lot roomier that the Peet’s that I’m accustomed, with lots of comfy chairs available(inside and outside) to sit, hang out, and relax. Plus a few loose newspapers were readily available. I suppose you could stuff a few more seats in here for peak periods, but a straight walk in/walk out, does not a 2 Star Review or personal experience make.

Glad you are here because I am no fan of Starbucks but please get additional seating. I walked in, saw there was no place to sit and walked right back out. Why so few seats when you have so much room? Is that a dance floor in the middle of the room? If you want to dethrone the local Starbucks, get more tables and chairs.
