Amazing wine and fabulous setting. Our host Kathy did a great job educating us and making us feel at home. Can’t wait to come back and will recommend it to all my friends.

Came in from Ohio with this winery high on our list. Upon arrival we were told that they were by appointment only but could return later if we like. Unfortunately we had other wineries to go to. They had a tasting area that was open but that was for club members only. What the hell? How do they expect to get new clientele if they’re turning away possible members? Honestly, felt disrespected with no legitimate reason. We were interested in becoming members but no thanks after their attitude towards us… Thumbs down from us!

One of the most gorgeous estates in Sonoma County, my friends and I were all beyond impressed with our tasting experience! I made an appointment in advance for«The Salon Experience» held in the Sonoma House and it was everything I’d expected yet that much more. Our wine educator, Kathy, did a particularly wonderful job of taking care of us from start to finish and it was such a pleasure getting to know her story as well. We began in the outdoor patio with some crazy low-production bubbly that was pretty darn delightful and paired perfectly with the lovely view of the surrounding vineyards. In the Sonoma House, we were seated with a selection of 6 vineyard designated chardonnays and pinot noirs — each possessed much depth and very characteristic qualities that easily differentiated them from one another. Patz & Hall currently has contracts with 23 different vineyards and the search for new ones is apparently an ongoing one, lending to immense variety and numerous opportunities to explore the unique terroir of such sites. Overall, a truly amazing find in Sonoma wine country and one I’ll be back to again and again.

Talk about hospitality. Beautiful drive up! Warm welcoming! And oh ya they make some amazing Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs! A minimalist wine making style that focuses on the distinct vineyards in the region. Dan was extremely knowledgable and very generous. Gorgeous grounds! We will be back and we will send friends!

The best tasting room experience I’ve had mainly because of Ross who was super passionate about the wines. Loved all the Chardonnays and pinots I had at patz and hall. Was not pretentious at all and so worth the trip to Sonoma. I’ll definitely be back!

Dont let the outside fool you, the outside courtyard and tasting room is gorgeous! Pinot lovers rejoice, this tasting is for you! The Champagne is amazing also. Everything is low production and very exclusive. Staff was professional, well dressed, and easy going yet informative.

These guys do tasting right! Although you have to make an appointment(or get lucky and arrive when they’ve had canceled appointments), this totally changes the tasting experience. No elbow-to-elbow wine tasting and hapless, overwhelmed tasting room employees; your hosts at Patz and Hall actually know how many people will be sitting at the bar, so they can provide a educational, relaxed, and comfortable tasting experience for everybody. Oh yeah, and it helps that the Pinot is world class as well.

Loved our experience at Patz & Hall! We did a terrace tasting on the back patio, that paired four wines with different cheeses. By far one of the best pairings in the Sonoma/Napa valley. The wines were delicious and we enjoyed the time with our host. The new house is great, and will be even better as the landscaping matures. Definitely worth a visit.

Did not taste the wine. They don’t participate in the Visa Signature program anymore, but are still on the Visa signature website. Not their fault but unlike other wineries who give you something(2 for 1 tasting fee for example), they offered nothing. Also only have tastings on the hour and cost $ 25 for 4 wines. Sorry, no thanks. If you’re into it make a reso.

New experience for us limited to Pinot Noir and Chards but fairly good quality. Bought for dinner tonight. Tastings on the hour. Worth the stop new location. People are delightful.

I have, traditionally, not been drawn toward Chards and Pinots, but I am glad that recent tastings have opened me up to the reality that there is also a great diversity the way the two varietals are being produced, and there are, wonderful ones. The visit to Patz and Hall was upon the recommendation of a tasting staff at Buena Vista when my friend asked about a good place for Pinots. The Bootlegger Pinot was spectacular and I was so pleasantly surprised that I liked it so much. It was a lot more robust and complex than other Pinots I have tried and it is appropriately dubbed, «the Cab-lover’s Pinot.» The first Chardonnay we tried was also superb, particularly for the fact that it was so unique. It could, I believe, in a blind tasting, be mistaken as another white — perhaps a Sauvignon Blanc or even a Viognet. It bursts with floral and citrus aroma reminiscent of muscat, adding to its mischievous play on our senses regarding its identity. I am one of the few who admit that my taste buds are dramatically affected by my whole sensory experience, and this is a place where all senses work together in receiving a positive stimuli. The building boasts of clean, contemporary lines on its exterior and in its interior it sustains its modern style with the richness of contemporary(rotating) contemporary art and its very elegant tasting room, which is sleek, elegant, and encourages interaction amongst staff and tasters. Ross was a fantastic, knowledgeable, and very charming host. The owner, Heather Patz, also interacted with us and was so friendly and down-to-earth. I can’t wait to return and take my sisters here.

This is a lovely tasting room. I love the sit down tasting where can take the time and give he wine its attention. Marie did our tasting both times, in April and July, impeccable service. I would recommend to all who go to Sonoma. The wines are excellent and so reasonably priced.

The wines are foremost excellent: chardonnay(as in Dutton or Hudson Ranch) and pinot noirs(as in 2011 Pisoni)! The family/owners/staff are very affable and their warm new wine tasting«lodge» is inviting and user friendly!

Amazing experience! Went to their new location in Sonoma and Ross our wine educator was more than nice and polite! He is very well knowledgable about all kinds of wine and wine history which made the experience even more worth it! Loved the place, everyone was nice and very generous, they offered food and additional wine tastings! We loved it there and will definitely come back and recommend it to others

All high quality wines. Heather Patz was a joy to taste with. Moses-Hall Pinot was excellent, but all of their wines were very well done. If you have a chance to do the food/wine pairing you will not be disappointed.

This is the winery where James and team make delicious wine. It is located in an industrial/warehouse district off Eight Street in Sonoma. P&H are one of the many wineries that comprise«Eighth Street Wineries»(similar to the Lompac Wine Ghetto in Santa Barbara Wine Country). The facility is normally only open for events, but they are supposed to start a monthly tasting at this location. You can phone the Salon at 707.265.7700 for details. All of the wine club events that I have attended have been well done — good wine thoughtfully paired with bites and a friendly staff that seem to know everyone of their club members personally. They just celebrated their 25th anniversary in the business with a release party here. The party rocked with 80’s tunes and a hysterical video that reminisced about the challenges of financing a fledgling wine business. Congrats to James, Anne, Donald and Heather on 25 years!

The wife and I went here recently, using a Gilt coupon. From the outside, it’s not much. The tasting room is located in a business park, away from downtown Napa. But, step inside, and it’s very nice. There’s a wine bar up front, and a comfy couch just outside the tasting room. We were greeted, led to the couch, and given some wine. Then, we were taken to the tasting room, where a very attractive and personable young lady poured a lot more wine. The wife, usually more of a Chard & Champagne girl, loved the Pinot, and we ended up buying a bottle. Overall, very nice.

I had seen their wines on wine lists at restaurants before so we decided to stop by for some tasting at the Salon. They’re located in an industrial center, not the most ideal location, but the inside is a cozy tasting room. Walk-ins are fine. We were the only ones there so we got to sit at the bar. The staff made us feel welcome and were very personable. My husband had tons of questions regarding the business side of wineries and they were honest and responsive. They specialize in Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs so we got to taste a variety. Their wines retail for $ 35 – 70. My favorites were: — 2009 Hyde Vineyard Pinot Noir — 2010 Alder Springs Chardonnay — 2010 Moses-Hall Pinot Noir They offered little bites of crackers and truffle almonds. The almonds were tasty! Since we had a Visa Signature card, we had complimentary tastings for 2 and 15% off purchases, which was a nice offer. We left with a bottle of the 2010 Moses-Hall Pinot Noir. Hope to go visit them again for some great Pinots!
