I would do this tour all over again! Great way too see wine country and learn all about different areas of Sonoma county. Lunch was great and our driver Paul was informative and fun! 4 different wineries with totally different experiences, and worth every penny!

The idea is good, but their drivers create dangerous situations by driving so goddamn slow that the piss off everyone else on the road. It is the law, in the CVC, that slow vehicles must pull over if another vehicle signals them with a horn or flash of lights so the overcoming vehicles may safely pass. In such touristy areas, they need to drive better.

Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley was a great highlight of our trip to Wine Country! The vineyards we visited were excellent. The food provided for lunch was delicious. The tour guide, Joe, was very informative and entertaining! We’ll definitely be back next year!

I’m an avid Unilocal user but have written very few reviews. However, I feel compelled to let people know that the Wine Trolley is colossal waste of money and time. Anybody visiting the area would be better served simply visiting the winery on your own. The trolley charges $ 100, but that does not cover the tasting fees for any of the 4 wineries you visit. The tour guide is extremely cheesy and does not add any value to your time in transit. The tour was rushed, we were told to pack our sandwiches in a napkin to eat on board while the tablecloths were taken out from under us. It’s not what I envisioned when spending a day in wine country. Don’t waste your money or time.

Had a great day on the wine trolley. Arrived exactly on time, a great tour of Sonoma and 4 wineries. Lunch was delicious. Joe, the driver and guide, did a great job of giving us information and history about the area. He also made it fun for the group.

This is a great way to explore Sonoma wineries, big and small. The trolley is a bit of a bumpy ride and lots of sun exposure so bring your sunscreen. The tour is all day; picks up at 10:30am and returns at 5pm. For us, it was a little long. Joe our driver was excellent; very accommodating. It’s important to note that the wineries charge tasting fees($ 15−20/each) and the wineries are more focused on tastings and not history or tours. Overall great tasting tour.

Don’t book group tours with them. It was expensive and their manager Phil gave my credit card information to numerous wineries without my consent. I was billed for tours I didn’t ask for and THEN when I got home there were other fraudulent charges on my card!!! They don’t respect your information and security. The actual tour was nice, but not worth all this, especially considering the cost…

This is a great tour if you have a large group. I particularly enjoyed the variety of wineries on the tour.(big, small, old, new). The driver provided a nice narrative of the region and wineries throughout the day. Lunch(catered by The Girl and the Fig) was delicious! When I forgot to take a purchased bottle of wine, one of the employees graciously offered to drive it to the city I was staying in on his way home.

We had a good time on the wine trolly. Our driver was Vince and he was awesome! He showed up on time at our hotel the trolly was nice and clean and we were with a nice group of people. Vince even sang a little Karaōke at the end of the day for our group. We went to Ravenswood, Buena vista, Imagine and Mayo Winery. We had a great experience at the first three wineries. I would recommend the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolly.

We had the best day, Will was our tour guide, he was incredibly nice, checking in on all of us with a smile to make sure we were having fun. I had lost my wallet(which Vern’s Taxi Co found and returned!!!) and Will just made the tour so much fun that I forgot all about it. We had wine tastings at each winery, and a catered lunch which was perfect and delicious. The Girl and the Fig catered!!! When we got home, we realized that a bottle of wine was missing(was in the chiller in the trolley) and Will gave us a call, then personally delivered it to us! Seriously amazing day, amazing customer service, fabulous driver!

Overall, we had a great time on the wine trolley tour. It’s a great value as you get tastings at 4 different Sonoma wineries(one was free, one you paid for but it included a fantastic tram tour of the winery, two you had to pay for unless you bought wine then they waived the tasting fee). It also included a delicious lunch provided by Girl and the Fig. But we did have a slight issue towards the end of the day. Pros: Fun way to see Sonoma, in a trolley! They provide a few pick up places as we weren’t staying directly in downtown Sonoma. Tastings are included as well as a delicious lunch. Cons: Our trolley tour guide was very adamant that we as patrons stay on time at each winery, which WE all did. On the second to last winery, the overall tour took a little longer and I guess we were late getting to the last winery, again not because any of us, the customers, took too long. As a consequence, we weren’t even on our second sampling of wine when the trolley driver came over and told us we had 5 minutes to wrap up. Ummmmm… sorry, but it wasn’t our fault that the last place took longer so why should we, the paying customer, have to rush? He then went on to explain that it wasn’t him, it was the company that demands an on time schedule because people might have places to go after the tour. Our entire group was ok with running a little over time and he still went on to say, hey I’m not trying to be the bad guy. So him and the lady at the winery then proceeded to kind of argue right in front of us. Her telling him he got us there late, him telling her she was taking too long, which was very uncomfortable for all of us. He «agreed» to give us 15 more minutes, gee how generous of him, and we had to rush through the last 3 tastings. This experience really left a bad taste in my mouth, pun intended, because I thought it was very unprofessional of him to rush us when it wasn’t our fault that we were running late. This is something the trolley tour and the wineries need to figure out and us as customers should not have been in the middle at all! I understand that he doesn’t want to work way past the time he’s scheduled, but really, would an extra half hour have killed him? As such, it definitely affected the tip we gave him.

We took the Sonoma Valley Wine trolley on Friday 1⁄17. We were greeted by our excellent host Jill at the designated pick up spot exactly on time. We were very excited to know that we were the only scheduled reservation for this day so we had a private tour! It truly felt like my wife and I were on the The Bachelor/The Bachelorette in which an entire trolley in its entirety were ours to room freely on. Jill was very knowledgeable, funny and informative and answered our questions throughout the entire trip through the historical tour of downtown to the history of Sonoma in general. She made our trip! We headed to Ravenwood Winery, Buena Vista Winery, Imagery Winery and Mayo Winery and Jill had an excellent and professional relationship with all of them. She truly is a people person and we were treated like VIP’s at each place. Jill managed our time at each place perfectly and set up our lunch at Buena Vista right when we needed a break from the Vino. The food was excellent from The Girl and the Fig. The tasting fees were not included but we didn’t mind at all because its worth it at each place and the pours were great. Overall I highly recommend this tour as it was a great experience, a perfect day and a great tour lead by Jill. If you have 1 or 2 days in town, sign up! You won’t regret it! Try to make sure Jill is leading it!

Great tour! My husband and I were here for our first anniversary and were worried the trolley night be too cheesy/touristy. Not at all! It was a great way to see 4 Sonoma wineries. Our driver was Will — he was fantastic! Will was informative, friendly, laid back and fun. We were running late toward the end of the day, but he didn’t rush us at all — he went with the flow and was cool with staying around later. We went to a nice mix of places — Imagery(loved!) Benziger(great tour of the vineyards and nice wine) Naked(didn’t love the wine but loved the setting and tour) and Paradise Ranch(loved the wine). Lunch was served at Benziger under a canopied picnic table with a great view. Catering was by The Girl And The Fig and it was delicious — really yummy sandwiches, orzo, potato salad, dessert. Overall, a great way to see Sonoma — I highly recommend!

We went on a beautiful day but my first complaint would be they overbooked the trolly. I get that you want to make the most out of a business day but when you cram your customers up next to each other, it takes the fun out of the ride. Also, half of the trolly has middle seats with no air flow. Everyone was promptly reminded no one has«reserved seats» and everyone should have a turn to sit«outside». Another complaint is not making us aware of the expense of the wine tastings at each winery. It would be received much better had we known what we were in for regarding price. Some wineries were $ 20 per tasting! I also have to add the recorded guide tour was beyond cheesy and in bad taste. By the way, don’t plan on sitting in the back of the trolly if you want to understand any part of the recording. The scenery is beautiful enough to have it not be distracted by some bad voice over, beyond corney recording. Lastly, Jill, the«trolly dolly» needs to losen up a bit and not be so uptight. I get there are rules but to tell us not to exit the trolly without her, as adults, is insulting.

The Sonoma valley wine train was a lot of fun! The day couldn’t have been nicer when we went in August and the 4 wineries we went to took our unrefined pallets in and offered a lot of information. This was a good trip for my wife and I as we celebrated our anniversary and wanted to get a good variety of wineries and wine types. The provided lunch was picnic style, sandwiches and salads and they were great as well. I would have given 5 stars if they built the cost of the wineries into the price of the day but it was really not to big of a deal. Just make sure you bring some extra money with you.
