I have been shopping at Halem’s for 14 years not only because of the unique jewelry that Michael and Dan create at very fair prices but also, because of the incredible customer service they provide. I had several pieces of keepsake jewelry stolen and they went out of their way to find almost identical replacements. I was so grateful! If you are looking for custom or unique designs, Michael and Dan thoughtfully listen and work with you. Michael, Dan, Allyson, Kathy and Leslie all make you feel very special when you come into the store. Rings can be cleaned and watch batteries replaced while you look at very creative, artistic jewelry. Fun and friendly experience that keeps me coming back over and over.

Mike and Dan Trudeau are talented artists, craftsman and honorable businessmen. They created a one of a kind engagement ring for me based on the vision that my then-​boyfriend (later fiancé and now husband) had. This ring is a true statement piece, expertly hand-​crafted. The pride that Dan and Mike take in their work is clearly evident in the elegant conceptual design and the refined workmanship in its implementation. A big thanks to Dan and his staff. Growing up in Sonoma, it was important to me to keep it local! Dan custom crafted my husband’s wedding band and set my great-​grandmothers stone in a very modern low-​profile setting for me… exactly what I wanted but couldn’t really imagine it at the time we ordered the rings. Thank you so much for all you help and expertise.

We found Dan via two friends who had custom engagement rings made at Halem and Co., and we will be grateful for years to come for the exceptional work that he did for us.
My engagement ring was turn-​of-​the century, coin-​cut, and tiers (read — uneven), and no regular band would fit it. Dan was able to make a ring that was both gorgeous and affordable for us, and it fits my vintage ring like a perfect lego match. Dan does business the old-​fashioned way, and we never felt rushed or like he didn’t have time to answer our questions, or judged for not being established jewelry buyers. He is personable, and definitely a subject matter expert in all things jewelry.
We also ordered my husband’s band from them, and when it came in and it was a bit large, they were able to overnight us the correct size no problem.
We will be returning here indefinitely for all of our jewelry needs, custom and otherwise.

I’ve been going to Halem and Co. de Sonoma since they opened 14 years ago. The staff has always been friendly and polite. I’ve known Michael Halem for years, being on the art circuit throughout the greater bay area, and have always found his jewelry to be top notch. I have purchased several items over the years, as well as had stones replaced in my wife’s wedding set (purchased elsewhere) and other rings sized. His prices are reasonable and I would recommend stopping in to see his artistry in jewelry. You can’t beat the location, and he is a fine musician too.

We stopped in to this quaint little jewelry store because of a stunning necklace in the window. We were so pleasantly surprised at the wide selection of jewelry at affordable prices. We bought a necklace for our daughter and a necklace and earrings for me. It was so nice to be able to buy unique pieces that we will have to remember our trip. The staff was helpful, fun and did not hover like at other jewelry shops. We love this place. Go in and I’m sure you’ll find a special piece to take home.

Halem’s has a beautiful selection of jewelry. Their repair and design expertise is terrific and their prices are very fair. They repaired a watch and earrings in a day.

Jodi was wonderful to work with and very knowledgeable about the products. I highly recommend her if you are looking to find an amazing piece of jewelry and want good advice and assistance.

I really cannot say enough nice things about this place. I bought my bridesmaids their jewelry here and Jodi and Leslie took their time with me and asked all the right questions to help me make the right decision. I didn’t feel rushed one bit. I felt valued. After that day I have gone back multiple times to have things cleaned and even sold a few items. I’ve also sent friends from San Francisco here and one of them had her wedding bands made. She now is a regular customer and has items fixed there as well. I’m in the market for an anniversary band and I guarantee you it will be bought from them. Their professionalism is by far some of the best I’ve seen out there! That’s a very hard thing to find these days so I hope those ladies aren’t going anywhere.

These guys are the best in town. Dan’s creations are exquisite and unique pieces of art. Before buying my wife’s engagement ring, I did a lot of research and learned quickly that this was THE place to go. I found that the price they charged was more than fair. The ladies in the front are always very friendly and knowledgeable. Jodi is always so sweet and makes us feel very welcomed .I recommend Halem and Co. to anyone who wants a timeless piece of jewelry for their loved ones.

Mike Halem made my year! We purchased my husband’s wedding ring from him at a Midwest Art Fair back in 1994. My husband lost his ring while swimming in Lake Michigan this past summer and was devastated. He was very endeared to the unique design of the ring. Thank goodness for the web and that Mike is still in business, I was able to contact him at the end of 2014 and he made my husband the exact ring (again!). That you so much Mike, we are celebrating our 20^th wedding anniversary this year and my husband is thrilled to be wearing your ring.

I went here over a year ago trying to get my dad’s watch fixed for his birthday and was told they only replace watch batteries and have never done watch repair… So I’m not sure what the 1-​star review about watch repair is all about… are you mistaking this place with another? I’ve had a few great experiences here over the last 6 years, including a custom-​designed ring for the birth of my second child, and it’s a shame to have such a negative review of this place for a service they have never provided! I also have some very fun and stylish (less expensive) earrings and pendants by local artisans that this shop contracts with. Nevertheless, the owner/​master jewelry designer is certainly a gifted artist himself! Just wish I could afford more of his wonderful high-​end pieces!

Halem & Co De Sonoma has the best service in town. I was engaged on August 2^nd of 2011 and my husband and I wanted a wedding band that was unique. I have always had a great report with the people that work at this jewelry store and thought they would be the best people to make our ring. We made an appointment and had Dan the jewel master help us with my ring idea. A few weeks later we were asked to come in to see the mold of our new ring. I brought my photographer to take pictures of the experience and they were very welcoming to him. Our ring was finished in time for our wedding on July 6^th of 2013 They offered to keep the ring in a safe place and was given to me very shinny when we picked it up. We decided to get my husband his ring there also. I sent him in alone to pick the ring and he told me they were very helpful and listened to what he wanted on his ring. Today I met the owner who played at my wedding with the band Cross Fire; I asked him if he could clean my ring. He went to the back to clean it and I had a conversation with his wife. When he came back he told me I could bring the ring in any time. I highly recommend this jewelry store for its great service and its unique jewelry.

Brought a watch to Halem & Co to be repaired. After some time looking at it, they concluded it was unrepairable. Asked them detailed questions what might be going on. The jeweler comments did not make any sense. Since they sounded very odd and is a very expensive watch, took it to another Jewelry shop for a second opinion. Kid you not, they fixed it in under 5 minutes with a quick logical full answer what happened!
Get the impression Halem & Co De Sonoma is sloppy, untrustworthy and incompetent. They were flat out wrong in their assessment of the symptoms and problem related to my watch. Clearly a jeweler that knows little about jewelry!

Gayle and I always enjoy stopping into Halem as we stroll around the Historic Sonoma Plaza. The jewelry, glass, and wood products are well chosen, feature original designs, and are enjoyable to touch and hold as one considers the possibilities. Store staff has also been knowledgeable, enjoyable, and low pressure. The regular prices are reasonable and occasionally there’s even a steal of a deal.
