I went to a new class offered by Katrina on Wednesday evenings. New studio space, small class with great individual attention to make sure my out of practice self didn’t hurt myself. This class was a mixture of Vinyasa Flow and Restorative. I tend to view yoga as a method of exercise, so the first part of the class covered that and gave me a great workout. While I wouldn’t go to a class entirely devoted to restorative poses, I admit I need it, and it nicely balanced the earlier activity and allowed my body and mind to quiet down. Definitely recommend this place!

So, I followed my favorite yoga teacher, Natalie, to this new studio and I was blown away. What an amazing space to practice yoga in. It’s a castle in Somerville, just across the street from Highland Kitchen! I felt like a monk in a beautiful Tibetan monastery. I have mixed feelings Unilocaling about this place, since no one seems to know about it and its nice having a little local hidden treasure. The studio is beautiful, with lots of equipment for a great practice. It is such a calm peaceful place, which works so well with Natalie’s spiritual and mindful approach to yoga(as oppose to the cardio/competitive gym yoga). I can’t wait to try the core hoping class after Natalie’s Kripalu class. I just read this article in Shape with Marissa Tomei and it’s her main form of exercise, so if it’s good enough for Marissa…

Love the variety of yoga, meditation, and movement classes. take kundalini, hatha, kripalu, or meditation. this is true to yoga not true to yoga exercise. love this place!!!
